• Good location. Nice bedding.
• The hotel unfortunately did not have electricity from 12 pm to 5 pm. On Sunday.

“It is a hotel good for couples and singles. Not recommended for children.”

• Nicely decorated and good service from staff.
• No coffee maker and bad sound insulation.

“This hotel is definitely not for light sleepers and families with young children. It ran out of coffee makers to provide us one, and lots of activities in the hallway in the middle of the night, which combining with bad sound-proofing will definitely make it hard to sleep. However, the hotel is nicely decorate and staff were friendly and helpful.”

• Bed and pillows were great, security good, staff helpful.
• Self-parking not easy, valet parking too expensive, no cofee maker in room.

“Very good place to stay - near courthouse with easy walk to convention center and a hotel- provided driver for faster transportation (we didn't use this benefit, but think it's a great idea) Bright, clean room with one of the most comfortable king-sized beds I've had in my travels
and pillows with comfort to match. Nice gym with a steam room, day-spa, and small heated swimming pool on upper level, interesting roof-top beach for taking the sun. Well-located for business and pleasure.”

• Location to Airport, it was safe area, very clean rooms, good staff.
• Shower curtains need to be longer & wider, and need magnets.

“Very good hotel, and I would go there again. The area could use a few more restaurants. There was only two, that the staff said were good for walking distance.”

• The staff was incredible and I loved the chalk board in the room and the cabana's and sand roof top bar.
• I wish it was in the Gaslamp District!

• Wore out. Not equal to star level represented.
• Poor service, old furniture, old dirty carpet.

“I was called at 8:00 PM telling me the pool would be closed during my stay. May seem trivial but my wife and I wanted to hang-out by the pool on our vacation. We happened to walk past the pool and found a woman sunbathing at the pool. It wasn't closed at all.”

• Good beds.
• Staff was rude. Long wait for room. Dirty.

“We waited 90 minutes for a non smoking room and then were still had a smoking room. Room was dirty with ashes and cigarette butts in windows. Staff was very rude and made fun of us as we walked up sidewalk to hotel. There is a large club on roof so lobby was always full of people drinking and hanging out and it was very loud. We were awoken at 2 am by all the people leaving the club. Too trendy for normal family! Also located in business district away from pier and other hotels.”

• Great decor, very friendly staff.
• Room was not made up until 4:00 pm.

• They had a vehicle to drive us to our dinner, saving a taxi ride.
• No morning paper. Spartan rooms.

“While this hotel had many features that might appeal to the 20-30 year old crowd, Chinese, and a boisterous bar scene, it isn't very luxurious and it is far away from the Gas Lamp district and the shoreline activities of San Diego.”

• Small but nice rooms.
• Not at all for families.

“This is not a good place for families. The main entrance is basically into their bar. We were traveling with four children and this was not a welcoming site for the hotel. This was more of a boutique hotel for singles or couples.”

• Staff was very attentive. Modern look and style.
• The design of the shower was poor. Toilet did not work.

“Overall, I was pleased with my stay at the W San Diego. There were some minor issues as stated above, but the professional staff made the stay very pleasant.”

• It had great nightlife, in both the lobby bar and the outdoor sand bar.
• The staff was not friendly, and was not willing to help with a request.

“It was a fun place to stay, with a great room. The lobby turns into a nightclub after 9:00, so not a great place for a family or older travelers. The pool was terrible, and very small.”

• It had a fitness center and location was great.
• The pool area was cramped.

“The hotel is very modern and attracts a younger crowd. The staff was very helpful and kind. The hotel had everything you could ask for, fitness center, spa, pool, restaurants, and the room was nice, although a bit small.”

• Very cheeky, fun vibe. People were great and friendly!
• Room wasn't ready on time.

“When I arrived just after check-in time, my room wasn't ready. However, I did get a voucher for a drink. The first night I didn't receive turn-down service, but the next night they came and left two mints on the pillow. Overall a very nice place to stay.”

• No free internet in rooms.

“Everything about the hotel was fantastic. The rooms were clean and had a great atmosphere and most of all; the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The location is great and I would absolutely stay here again.”

• It felt like a club going up to our room - elevators full of bar patrons.

“Fantastic design and very friendly staff. Great place to have local friends come and visit. Difficult to get up to room during nighttime bar hours though because they use the same elevators to go to the sky bar.”

• The location was convenient and the staff was very friendly.
• The pool and workout areas were anemic. The bed was very uncomfortable. $28 for overnight parking.

“Trendy hotel. Designed more for the younger crowd who is more interested in name than substance. The rooms are nice although the bed was very uncomfortable. Their concept of a SPA and mine are greatly different. They have 4 small treatment rooms and a single shower. The pool is too small for laps and the gym is two bikes, three treadmills, two elliptical machines and a couple medicine balls. The cost for overnight parking was $28.”

• Bachelor party across hall from my room-3:30 am very noisy.

• The location & decor were fabulous.
• They over-booked and we were forced to stay at the Westin blocks away.

“Although, the water supply was down for 2-3 hours on Thursday night between 4-7 PM making us late for getting to dinner in a timely fashion.”

• The location was good, great bar area called the beach, staff was wonderful!
• Cost of parking.

“An upscale hotel that caters to the younger crowed. But my wife and I still enjoyed it as we think about our self's as young at heart. The staff was very helpful and answered all our questions even when we had a lot. The location was good and you could see many of the attractions in San Diego with out the use of a car. The Trolley was close and easy to use. A short walk to the bay area and close to many good restaurants. When in San Diego we would stay at the W Hotel again.”

• Has possibilities for under 30 crowd. Very loud.
• Got back to room at 10pm and room had not been serviced.

“Very young staff, will tell you anything but the actual get it done is not there. Pretty disorganized. Drinks are ridiculous, food is a joke.”

• very trendy. very nice accomodations. liked the bars and other facilities located onsite.

• The room was decorated nicely.
• The lobby set up was strange, two long rows of chairs facing each other.

“The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were sparkling. The pool area was beautiful. I didn't feel like I could sit in the lobby and rest my feet though.”

• Matthew the concierge guy was certainly familiar with the hottest spots around town; all very helpful recommendations very much appreciated!
• The cost of a single alcoholic beverage tended to fluctuate, as did the size of the glass is was served in.

“Over all, I'd say two thumbs up without any hesitation. This place oozes style and charm. Although, you may mistake the pool for a tub.”
