“Good location, close to public transit (trolley & trains) and within walking distance of places I wanted to go. (I did not rent a car during my stay). Adequate on-site restaurtant & bar, with a nice place for breakfast next door as well as next-door Ruths Chris Steakhouse. Has a nice view of the harbor out the front, and of the city out the back.” Aug 26, 2005 by
Sean from San Jose, CA
“Great location. Staff unprofessional at check-in and while trying not to laugh too hard stated let me find you the best available room (kept looking at each other and giggling), which turned out to be on floor one in the back corner at the door with no view besides of a fence and pipes. Hotel door did not lock. Bathroom dirty with hairs on floor and walls of shower. Upon returning to room Shower was full of mud and dirt, when I left the room the shower floor was clean.” Aug 25, 2005 by
Monika from Clinton Twp, MI
“This hotel is in a great location and has many of the amenities most travelers are looking for. In addition, it is close to many attractions including sea world, the zoo, and several beaches. We would definitely stay here again when we come back to san diego.” Aug 24, 2005 by

“the parking and unloading was not convienient, the rooms were not very clean, and the room shook a little everytime a plane landed.” Aug 16, 2005 by
Tim from Seal Beach, CA
“We were very pleased with this hotel, its location, and the friendliness of the staff. Would stay here again. The price for peak season was good for a 3 star hotel. Thank you.” Aug 15, 2005 by
Rhonda from Tucaon, AZ
“The location is perfect, whether you are going to SD for a weekend, or a week right across from the famous Anthony's restaurant and the Maritime Museum. Just a few blocks from Seaport Village. City-view rooms offer quite the breathtaking view at night, and surprisingly quiet. Clean and bright rooms, can be made very dark for sleeping in. Restaurants on the premises and willing to deliver to the rooms, offer a wide array of price and choices. Loved It.” Aug 14, 2005 by
Patricia from Saugus, CA
“Very nice location. Great restaurants, things to do. Nice pool. Poor parking. Nice view, unless your in one side of one tower. Just parking lot then.” Aug 12, 2005 by
Holly from Haddonfield, NJ
“We loved this hotel - the staff was great and you can't beat the location. We'd stay there again if we could.” Aug 12, 2005 by
Mike from Greensboro, NC
“Perfect location for someone more interested in location than hotel luxury. Within walking distance to gaslamp quarter, baseball stadium, seaport village. San Diego Bay is right across the street. Perfect for a morning run on the boardwalk.” Aug 11, 2005 by
Jill from Brentwood, CA
“Location is ideal! Hotel is clean, staff friendly. You really can't beat this hotel for location and restaurants!” Aug 8, 2005 by
Gina from Fillmore, IN
“For the rate, this hotel worked well for us. The staff was not outstanding, but it was a good location and the rooms were what we expected.” Aug 7, 2005 by

“At best a 2 star rating --- Good location ” Aug 2, 2005 by
Eric from Nogales, AZ
“Nice mid-range hotel. Great Location on SD Embarcadero. Non descript rooms. Not enough towels. Many good restaurants on location or nearby. Parking is not cheap and spaces are quite narrow. No Bell service was offered and most guests have to park in rear of hotel.” Aug 2, 2005 by
Forest from Imperial, CA
“The hotel is in a very nice location. It is a fancy hotel. When we got back to the room at night, the air condition did not work. We called up front and they said "no one was around to fix the problem". They did send a portable fan, but that didn't help us sleep any better.” Aug 2, 2005 by
Melissa from Sunland, CA
“Holiday Inn on the Bay has a prime location in San Diego with good ammenities. The pool area was pretty, and towels were provided. The coffee bar outside the elevator was convenient for a quick breakfast and mocha. Check-out was simple, but they need to have a more expedient way to take care of parking passes. Hand-writing the information each time we left the parking structure was a slow process. ” Jul 26, 2005 by
Lynn from Orlando, FL
“Great location. Recently refurbished. Large Room. Would definately stay there again.” Jul 25, 2005 by
Delia from Mesa, AZ
“The hotel is a perfect location, downtown San Diego, close to everything, convienent.! The hotel was very clean inside and out. I did not have much contact with employees, but the little bit I did, they seemed to be a little "stuffy". The plumbing in my first room was horrible, toilet overflowed and wouldn't stop. I had to shut off the main valve on the toilet. Water ran into the dressing area, carpet was soaked. They relocated me into another room, that toilet's flap wouldn't close after flushing, so the water ran in the tank endlessly till you physically had to lift the lid and push the flap down. This is when I encountered the little problem with the attitude of the hotel staff, when I asked for another room due to the plumbing in the first room.” Jul 25, 2005 by
David from Lithia Springs, GA
“Great location, lots of staff to help out, charged extra for bayside rooms without advance warning.” Jul 22, 2005 by
Andrew from Santa Ana, CA
“This is the nicest Holiday Inn we have ever stayed in. The staff were helpful and friendly. They made our stay one of the nicest and most relaxing we have ever had! The staff on a scale of 1-10, they get an 11. The location was beautiful. The room, as well as the grounds, were clean and well kept. I cannot say enough about the staff, they were incredible. It was like we were staying at a 5-star hotel.” Jul 21, 2005 by
Andy from Belmont, CA
“This is a very nice hotel. It almost has a "resort-like" feel. My room had a view of the pool area and the entire San Diego Bay. Rooms also have balconies, not something you get in most modern hotels these days. It was very nice to sit outside on the balcony and watch the sun go down over the Bay. The Elephant & Castle Pub downstairs is also a very lively and fun bar to hang out in. All in all I very much enjoyed my stay here.” Jul 18, 2005 by
Simon from San Jose, CA
“Upon arriving there was one person working at the check in desk. After waiting 15 minutes, he finally asked us how can he help us. No customer service skills at all. He did not look like he wanted to be there. We were checked in and not told where our room was, since the hotel has three different towers. The hotel and room was not clean . I don't believe this should be a 3 star hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Jul 18, 2005 by

“Great location, very clean, limited amenities - our room overlooked San Diego - mostly tall buildings and a few warehouses - the front of the hotel overlooked the harbor- and our room was a little on the small side. There was a tiny balcony with 2 chairs and a small table. The room had a hairdryer, coffee maker, and an ironing board, but no fridge, no microwave, and very limited cable - less than 20 channels. The beds were clean and comfortable - but 2 double beds - not queen as I might have expected in a 3 star hotel. The wireless internet didn't work in our room - I had to go to the lobby to get any kind of connectivity. No continental breakfast was offered. The exercise room was pretty run down - old weight equipment and all 3 three of the treadmills were in need of repair or adjustment. In all - the 3 stars must be based on location as the 2 star hotel that we stayed at in Carlsbad had much nicer amenities.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 5, 2005 by

“I would highly recommend this hotel for numerous reasons, not the least of which is its excellent location with a proximity to attractions both in dining and entertainment along with comfortable living conditions.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 3, 2005 by

“We had a room with the wrong bed size. It took 3 room changes to get it right. When we tried to reach the manager or call the front desk by phone, it rang for ten to twelve minutes. We ordered a fridge for the room. One of the room changes required that the frige be moved to the new room. It wasn't. When they finally delivered a fridge, it was different and our beverages were not there. The hotel adjusted our bill. It took two days of trying to reach the manager to get an answer about what happened with our beverages. Overall, the windows did not keep out the noise from the airport and the hotel air conditioning compressors and fans that were 5 floors below our room.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 28, 2005 by

“It was nice. Good service! Great Location! Room was clean and roomy with balcony and view of the city. The otherside had great views of the bay. We could walk to most of the things we did once again great location, close to gaslamp, little Italy, Seaport Village and Bay.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 22, 2005 by

“When we called to speak with hotel staff over the phone, they were less than friendly. The hotel is located by the Trolley, so you can hear the Trolley's horn blaring all night long.Parking is a rip off at $18 a day.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 4, 2005 by

“This hotel was worth what we paid for. I would not have wanted to pay full price though. Hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. Standard hotel room decor. Nice pool. Quick room service. Clean room. Parking was $18 a day.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 23, 2005 by

“overall a ok place to stay for the money I was hoping to get a little nicer place, no jacquizzie, the stopper ran on our toilet ever since we came into the room, they did fix it while we were out to dinner. never the less. Lastly the room reeked of smoke.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 18, 2005 by

“Great Location but try and get the bay side room. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Airport shuttle was a great help, since it runs every 30 minutes up to midnight! Pool was average, but a great business hotel! Six dollar cab ride to the Convention center or use the trolley/tram for 3.00/day and go all over the city (unlimited), but at night be prepared to take a cab!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 28, 2005 by

“Good location on the bay. Resturant and bar onsite is good. However, parking is restricted and $18.00 per day. You have a 2 hour limit per day on High Speed internet and have to leave your ID with the desk to get their wireless card. Not very good for business travelers. I like having more control over my options when booking business travel. Room was located without any view of the bay and on the lowest floor.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 26, 2005 by

“Clean and well located for the price. Did not agree with the $1.60 local calls or $18.00 daily parking price so parked elsewhere and called from the street!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 8, 2005 by

“This hotel works if you can't get a nicer one when going to the gas lamp. It is a place to lay your head. It is not my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice, but it works. Mar 2, 2005 by
Christine from El Centro, CA
“I would not recommend anyone to stay at Holiday Inn by the Bay because the front desk staff, valet parking personnel and manager on duty were rude, condescending and rude!” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Mar 2, 2005 by

“A bit seedy around the edges. Hallway carpets seemed a bit worn; carpet in my room was spotted, and wet! In general, this hotel seemed very nondescript; I'm not sure that I understand its 3-star rating.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
