“Okay I guess if you are not in a room facing the freeway. $12 to park is not very enticing either.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 20, 2005 by

“Charming and very clean smaller hotel just a short walk from Old Town. California style-adobe with tile and flowers everywhere. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms are a little small but had everything we needed including a great shower head. Dining room does well also. I would stay here again without hesitation.” Feb 18, 2005 by
Karen from Norco, CA

Susan from Mountain Ranch, CA
“Great hotel, excellent price. The staff was very helpful. I would have liked to be put in a room not facing the freeway on the first night.” Jan 5, 2005 by
Carol from Los Gatos, CA
“For the price, the hotel was great. Very clean, friendly help, well maintained and convenient.” Dec 22, 2004 by
Christine M. from N. Las Vegas “The hotel was great! Easy to find, and very nice! I would have preferred a later check-out time, but the hotel tried to be pretty flexible about it. I also didn't like that once check-out time passes, the cards don't work on the doors or the parking garage. It would have also been nice to know about the additional charge for parking.” Dec 16, 2004 by
Yvonne C. from Wheatland “The staff was very helpful in helping me find places to see and restaurants in the area. The hotel was very nice and I would recommend it to others.” Dec 2, 2004 by
Gerardo M. from Rosemead “Thank you so much for making our family trips economical. We wouldn't be able to take so many trips if it weren't for your web site. Thank you!” Dec 2, 2004 by
Robert M. from Tucson “The hotel was very convenient to Old Town. We were pleasantly surprised that they provided a shuttle service to and from the Zoo and were prompt on their pickup time.” Oct 13, 2004 by
“The $10 parking fee was a surprise. We scrounged around for free on street parking. A short walk from the Old Town trolley station and Old Town proper. The Kai were a nice touch. Had computer issues, so didn't get to use the free wireless internet access. Altogether fine.” Oct 3, 2004 by
Annie M. from Maribel, WI “It would have been nice to know before hand that there is a $10.00 daily charge for hotel parking, the alternative is finding a space on the street. The facility was beautiful and would definitely go back again.” Sep 30, 2004 by
Arlene R. from Los Angeles, CA “I have recently stayed at this hotel before and the location, service, and our room was very satisfying. I would recommend to my friends.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Sandra G. from Tempe, AZ “The location was greater than anticipated being right there in the midst of Old Town and close to so many great restaurants. The beds were new and so comfortable. Great service as well.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Trudy B. from Tehachapi, CA “Our arrival was much later than expected (1:30 a.m.!!) - and the desk clerk greeted me by name and said he had been expecting us. Since we were so late he waived the usual parking fee. The mattress was wonderfully comfortable and the room tastefully appointed. Bathroom large and clean and the shower great. A most satisfactory rest stop.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Sabine C. from Newport Beach, CA “Located in walking distance to Old Town. Rooms on freeway side are very loud. One side of the hotel almost sits on the freeway. Staff is super friendly and does anything they can to meet their guests needs.” Sep 29, 2004 by
David M. from Newbury Park, CA “The hotel was fine with exception our air conditioner did not work properly and the room was extremely warm. The one other problem was the price. The hotel price did not include parking. When we arrived they charged an additional $10 per night per vehicle for parking. Therefore we had to pay out an additional $40 for the 2 night stay for our 2 rooms.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Robert B. from El Dorado Hills, CA “The staff at the Old Town Marriott in San Diego were great. They were always friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and nicely appointed. A little loud since I faced the freeway (make sure you ask for a room courtyard side). It is a quirky old hotel with bending hallways that has been updated and remodeled. It has a great location.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Victor C. from Concord, CA “The hotel had what I wanted: Location, private parking, very close to good restaurants, very clean and comfortable.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Paul O. from Costa Mesa, CA “Excellent Value. My room backed up to a freeway so it was a bit noisy, however overall it was comfortable. The gentleman that checked me in was extremely polite, and I place a high value on that. Kudos to him. I wanted to acknowledge the staff's courtesy and helpfulness.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Merrill S. from Boise, ID “The Marriot hotels are always top rate. My wife's stay in the San Diego Marriot Courtyard was top notch.” Sep 28, 2004 by
Janice M. from Ramona “The room worked out perfectly. The location was great, the room was gorgeous, the staff was very nice.” Sep 23, 2004 by
Kemal O. from Fair Oaks “A lot of traffic noise, if you get a room on the side of the freeway. We changed the room after one night. The first room also had a foul odor (mold?). The second room was much cleaner, quiet and odor free. Breakfast not included, but there is complimentary coffee. They also charge $10 a night for parking.” Sep 22, 2004 by
Ralph M. from Mesa “We stay at Old Town San Diego it's a short walk to shopping and eateries. The staff was great.” Sep 22, 2004 by
Lisa M. from Severna Park “I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Old Town - San Diego for four nights. The back rooms of the hotel are right behind Rt. 5, a major thoroughfare in Southern CA. Therefore, it was very noisy but they were kind enough to move me across the hall the next evening. The next room I had was so dirty that the bacteria on the bathroom floor had turned that reddish color. There were bugs marching on my pillow and wings on my blanket upon removing the bedspread. Additionally, there was a tiny pinhole in the wall above the desk which also had some sort of inset crawling in and out of it. So, I stayed in three different rooms over four nights time. A night supervisor, was very helpful and did whatever she could to make my stay more pleasant. Overall, I was very disappointed, especially since I am a Marriott Rewards member and I had higher expectations for any level hotel within the Marriott system.” Sep 22, 2004 by
Patty T. from Reedley “The hotel was what we expected and the amenities, cleanliness, etc. was fine. When we returned to our room at around 10pm we noticed that there was a party going on in their lounge by the pool which was right below our room, and all the rooms on that side of the hotel. When we went up to our room the noise was as loud in the room as outside. We could feel the vibrations of the music and hear the loud noise as if we too were partying. Around 10:30pm we called down to the desk and asked if there was any way they could move us to another room and they said no but that they would tell the party to quiet down...well that never happened and it went on till midnight. We know that the hotel wasn't full and that there probably would have been a way to accommodate us if they had really wanted too. When we checked out, a manager was at the desk and when my husband complained she apologized and offered us free breakfast for us and our college kids that came to join us for breakfast. We did appreciate their kind gesture, but do not agree with the policy of a hotel that would allow a loud, frat/sorority party to interfere with the rest of their paying customers. We would not choose to go back to this hotel.” Sep 20, 2004 by
Michelle G. from Pomona, CA “The hotel staff was very nice. My only complaint about this hotel was that the weekend lounge hours seemed short. I thought they should close at 11pm on weekends (we were enjoying the pool).” Sep 19, 2004 by
Lajoe H. from Hemet, CA “The Courtyard by Marriott Old Town in San Diego is clean, has all the expected amenities, and has a wonderful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone interested in a nice hotel within walking distance of several great restaurants and shops.” Sep 18, 2004 by
Gregory B. from Chino Hills, CA “An above average 2.5 hotel--a awesome deal! I never thought 2.5 star hotels would be that nice.” Sep 16, 2004 by
“We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in Old Town San Diego. The place was clean, quiet and close to everything.” Sep 11, 2004 by
Julie B. from Apple Valley “it was a very clean beautiful friendly hotel. The only thing that wasn't mentioned was that there was a $10.00 parking fee per day. We had a beautiful stay. Thank you.” Sep 11, 2004 by
Bryan S. from Chandler “I liked the hotel and the price I paid for it. I was a little dismayed that I had to pay an additional fee for parking, and this wasn't mentioned. But compared to Chicago, the parking wasn't too bad.” Sep 11, 2004 by
Jeanette T. from Saugus “I loved this hotel. I was looking for a hotel for the weekend and even Days Inn was too expensive. 1/2 mile from my destination, clean, nice rooms, and the people that worked there were very friendly.” Sep 10, 2004 by
Daena K. from Las Vegas “It was nice, but you have to pay extra for parking. It was a good deal.” Sep 10, 2004 by
Albert M. from Mason “Very pleased with the hotel. Clean and had all the needed amenities. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was within two blocks of all the Old Town San Diego activities and had very easy access to Interstate 5 for trips to downtown San Diego.” Sep 10, 2004 by
Quan T. from Palmdale “Nice for the price.” Sep 9, 2004 by
David C. from Huntington Beach “Typical stay for a Marriott Courtyard, comfortable room and bed, nicely furnished, quiet, etc. I would be satisfied staying solely at Marriott Courtyards in all future travels.” Hotel Representatives:
