- It was very clean and the firepit outside the bar was romantic.
- The parking was too far away from our room and very overpriced.
“It is a very clean hotel. It is nice if you don't want an ocean view. Parking is too expensive and far from the rooms. Street parking was almost nonexistent on a Saturday night. No refrigerator in the room. We had drinks at the bar and the tables with firepits were very nice.”

“I prefer hotels where there is at least free WiFi service. The Hyatt hotel chain requires that you pay for this service. In addition, a customer should expect to pay for other services that are now complimentary at most other hotel chains.”

- Everything had a surcharge attached to it such as parking and internet.
“I did not like the fact that everything had a fee, for instance internet was $10.00 per day, parking was $20.00 per day, continental breakfasts were $19.00. Generally these items are included and because of this, we had to park in the street which in itself was a chore because there was no parking spaces available.”

- The staff was friendly and efficient. I also liked how the hotel windows opened up.
- The parking situation was not the best and I like my four star hotels to have a separate shower and bath.
“The staff was excellent. They were fast, friendly and had our crib ready to go in our room. The rooms were nice and the windows opened a bit to let in the San Diego breeze. The housekeeping staff also did a great job. I didn't like having to pay extra to use the gymnasium and the parking situation was a little frustrating.”

- The pool, and spa were great.
- It was 4 miles away is not right on the beach. $20/day parking is ridiculous.
“When we were looking for a nice hotel for my wife's first trip to San Diego, and CA. Finding a place as close to the beach as possible was our 1'st priority. The parking was $20 a day. Ridiculous! There was nothing included for free with the room, not even the water. $3 for Aquafina. $59 an hour to use the Internet. Even though we had a great trip, the Hyatt Hotel had very little to do with the fun we had.”

- It had an odor in the upper hallways and in the room.
“The location and staff were great, parking is expensive (20.00 a day to self park) and it literally smelled. We opened the window in the room and it didn't help. We were there for an event that took place elsewhere so we did not use the pool or restaurants. It did have a coffee set up in the room and you could order a fridge at no cost.”

- Room service! Excellent taste and quality and hot!
- Parking was way far from the lobby and rooms and no fridge in the room.
“I had an excellent stay! It was quiet and convenient, clean and welcoming. All staff that I came into contact with were helpful and accommodating. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and large enough for my 2 year old son to play safely. Also, I treated myself to room service, and was not disappointed - the food tasted gourmet and was served hot (which you don't always get even at great hotels!).”

“The Hyatt Regency La Jolla is a wonderfully elegant hotel, two minutes from the interstate. The hotel restaurant provides a wonderful breakfast buffet; the swimming pools looked inviting; nearby restaurants - just steps away - are absolutely divine; and the service was impeccable. I do continue to be confused as to why luxury hotels charge $10 or more per night for internet access, while budget hotels provide it for free. Other than that, no complaints and high praise for this hotel!”

- Nice room, very clean but smaller than I've been in. Nice flat screen TV.
- Parking should be free for guests. It costs about $18/day to use garaged parking. Prefer live customer service during check-in. No free internet.
“There was some business convention going on during the time I was there. I didn't feel the family atmosphere other than business - like environment. I love the clean room. No smoking room. I can't say much about the distance from the garage to the hotel entrance. Parking should be free for guests. Otherwise, there's free street parking if you can find space.”

- The staff is very accommodating.
- Wait to get food from the bar, price for valet.
“I have stayed here many times of the the past several weeks. I was first unhappy with the price for valet until I realized self parking was right around the corner and was only $16. Great price compared to other hotels in the area. This week I happened to be sick and when I asked for a late check out the staff was very sweet and even though they were sold out for the next night they made sure I was able to stay there later than the usual late check out. They are always very friendly and helpful.”

The only downsides were that the walls were too thin (could hear the loud children in the room next door each morning) and that the cleaning lady didn't come to the room until 2 pm, which was when we returned from being out and needed to get ready for my sister's wedding, so our room didn't get straightened up. Overall, the hotel was fine. Everything we needed was provided.”

- We loved that they acknowledged our anniversary with a room upgrade, wine & truffles, access to Regency Club and the Regency Suites floor.
- I cannot think of a thing.
“This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. We plan on using it again. It is easy to get to, easy to travel around San Diego and the staff goes way beyond the call of duty. There are many nice restaurants that surround the hotel within walking distance. The rooms are pretty and comfortable.”

- The staff was great and helpful, the hotel was clean, and the location was great.
- The bathroom toilet seat & counters were very wet when we arrived, the lobby is a little sterile, hair dryer didn't work, the tub & sink didn't drain.
“The staff promised to make good on the problems that we experienced buy providing a complimentary room in the future. Because of their concerns and responses to the issues we had, we would definitely stay again and again. I used to travel frequently in my career so I know that what we experienced is not normal for the Hyatt. This is a good, solid, hotel chain that should be considered by all.”

- The room and location were great.
“It has beautiful rooms that were spacious enough for me to put the ironing board in the bathroom comfortably. The view was very nice and it has quick access to I-5. The lobby and the amenities (gym, fridge in room, internet) were great. I would highly recommend this hotel.”
