• Chocolate chip cookie at reception.
• Bed was too small. Supposed to be queen. Seemed like full.

“Asked for upgrade to king bed at reception. Got nod indicating receptionist was checking. Was later handed key to room. Opened the door and found small room with essentially a full size bed, not even a full queen. Hotel was very noisy. Walls thin. Could easily hear conversations in neighboring rooms and in hallway. Internet access not free.”

• Swimming pool water was a bit cold, breakfast was not included in the price.

• Hotel staff was friendly and changed room for me after the 1st was flooded with toilet overflow.
• Toilet over flowed after flushing even though no paper was used.

• The location was beautiful.
• We had rat droppings stuck to our sheets.

“I liked the hotel except for the rat droppings we found on our sheets, and the staff, nice as they were could not do much about it. That was disappointing. There was no manager to be found either.”

• The staff was great with the kids
• There was a foul oder for the 1st night, and elevator was a long wait 4 such a small building

“Overall I would stay there again it was a nice hotel w/ minor issues. It was very family friendly and had lots of great accomadations like the business center, greeted w/ warm cookies when u check in, and poolside food services.”

• Well kept, clean, accomodating, efficient.

“Overall - hotel was great. Offered free shuttle service within something like 5 miles of the hotel in Del Mar. Perfect for us, as we attended a close friend's engagement part at the Del Mar race tracks nearby, then out to dinner afterwards. Staff was friendly, rooms and beds were comfy!”

• Free parking, clean and comfortable, great bed, and friendly staff.
• Nothing.

“We keep coming back to Doubletree because it is a very nice hotel, the room is great, the bed is heavenly, staff gave us a great room, has free gym. Really can't find anything wrong with it, except in this trip, the jacuzzi does not work,and we heard jack hammer noise throughout the night. Turns out there were construction work by the Marriott hotel near by. It must be worse for them.”

• Central location.
• Printer would not print. Front desk unable to assist us not enough knowledge. We had to carry all our bags up our self no assistance no carrier available.

• Pool.
• Did not have king size bed.

“My fiancé and I felt like the staff was not very friendly or accommodating. The bar-tender in the lounge did not even smile once. I felt like I was bothering her. When I asked the front desk why we had 2 queen beds instead of a king, said there were no king size beds in the hotel.”

• Great customer service. Cool pool. Great room service!
• The carpets in the room were very stained and dirty!

“This Doubletree Hotel was very nice. The hotel had great customer service and were very helpful. My kids loved receiving fresh cookies when we arrived at checkin. We ordered room service for breakfest and the portions were great. I have to say the food was delicious. My kids loved the gorgeous pool and the towels were always stocked. The hotel is located in a very busy place in Del Mar, but the hotel was very quiet and peaceful considering it was next to 2 freeways. It was also very close to a grocery store and many types of restaurants, and 5 mins from the beach.”

• Location is very convenient to Del Mar, Torrey Pines, La Jolla & North SD County.

“The hotel overall is fine, very clean and professional. Very nice pool/outdoor area with outdoor fireplaces. The housekeeping staff were a little pushy at times but the rooms were very well-kept, did a great job in cleaning and presentation.”

• Hotel was very nice, recently renovated and convenient to everyplace we needed to be.
• Service in the restaurant was very slow and inconsistent.

“We were very pleased with this hotel especially for the price. It was very clean and recently renovated. The beds were great. We asked for housekeeping to leave us extra coffee and cream each day and they did. The only black mark would be the service for the morning breakfast, the only meal we ate in the hotel. They were fast to say hello, but the follow up was slow. The hotel location was very convenient no matter where we were going.”

• Beautiful room, easy to find and access, kids stay free and delicious chocolate chip cookies at check in.
• Our room was right over the kitchen, so when we had the window open we could always smell food. Freeway noise depending on room location. l

“Hotel staff was more than accommodating. The food served at the restaurant was good except for a fluke shrimp salad gone bad.The beds were very comfortable. All the feel of an upscale hotel without the snootiness.”

“The hotel left a message on my phone falsely accusing me of smoking in my room. After demanding the manager come to my room to tell me he smelled smoke I was given free breakfast buffets for my duration but that did not appease me at all!”

• Comfortable rooms, attractive overall.
• 9.95 fee for wi-fi.

“Very nice facility. Comfortable rooms with lots of pillows. The bathtub was a little small. Free HBO. The breakfast buffet was $14.95 but had very good food, including cheese blintzes and good-quality meats. The pool is heated and there's a wading pool and hot tub. The fitness room has individual TVs on several of the machines. Parking is free.”

• Reasonable
  cost and decent room.
• Find some cookie crumbs on the floor.

“I think it definitely worth it. We are staying in a two queen bed room, facing the garden, pool. You can see the freeway but you actually do not hear the noise. There is Neutrogena shower supplies in the bathroom, even including face cleanser and face lotion with 45 SPF. That is very thoughtful. They give us three warm chocolate cookies when we check in. The cookies are really good. There is plenty easy free parking. The only things I do not like about it: I found a piece of old cookie crumb on the room floor. The front desk asked whether we need a crib, and I said yes. But the crib never came. But for the money, I definitely will recommend it.”

• We asked for a refrigerator, they brought it up, asked for a microwave & they brought it up, towels& pillows they brought it up-awesome.
• Room was smaller than expected.

“Wonderful service, accommodating in every way, would recommend the hotel to others. The hotel smelled of cookies didn't know if I can eat chocolate chip cookies again.”

• Clean, conveniently located, nice view, comfortable beds and
  good amenities.
• Rooms could be slightly larger.

“Stayed for a week with my husband, 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter. Only criticism would be that the room was not big enough for a roll away so the kids could sleep separate. Otherwise, I LOVED this hotel, and would highly recommend it.”

• Good location.
• Not very clean for an upscale hotel; grime in pool; bathroom dirty; stained sheets.

“Overall, we had a positive experience. Housekeeping was very spotty - there were issues every day (stained sheets, not replenishing coffee or bathroom supplies, dirty bathroom tiles upon arrival), and the pool was quite dirty (literally black grime on the waterline tiles). For the money, we were fine with the experience.”

• Yummy cookies!

“This hotel was very clean and the rooms tastefully decorated. Duvets on the bed are awesome! We ordered room service the first night and it was delicious. Also ate Sunday brunch downstairs and it was delicious with a wonderful selection. Our only complaint is that we were placed on a floor with a huge group of young girls about 14 years old or so. Room doors were slamming all evening and all night up unti1 11:30 pm and we were woken up at 7:00 am to the slamming doors all over again. I understand what it's like to be young and having fun and that this could happen at any hotel, but I have to say that the two nights of slamming doors drove us crazy and we were glad to leave and get to our next hotel.”

• Good parking comfortable clean rooms.
• A charge for Internet service! In this day and age shame.

“A very nice Doubletree property well run great staff and very clean. They were handling a large soccer tournament the place was full of teenage soccer teams but it was never a problem as the staff was diligent and the kids were all under control. Kudos to the kids as well!”

• The front desk staff was wonderful.
• After having an unappetizing appetizer there we decided not to eat at the restaurant for any meals.

“I thought the hotel was clean and comfortable and the front desk staff was incredibly accommodating. I had artichoke and spinach dip at the restaurant for a snack one afternoon and it was awful. I didn't think that was a dish that could be screwed up so I decided not to risk it with any other meals there.
The hotel itself was great though and I would definitely stay there again.”

• Clean, love the bedroom decor, beds and
  fabulous swimming pool.
• Did not really appreciate the noise or the crowd that came this night, couldn't get any sleep because students were partying in hallway.

“Overall, the hotel is a nice, luxurious hotel, very clean. However, came here the wrong night, because there were a group of students that checked in this night and they partied pretty much all night, and had to call front desk/security to remedy this problem. It was like Spring break and did not really appreciate the noise and partying. Hotel should have had contained or controlled this problem a lot sooner.”

• The rooms were super clean, they had extra pillows the blankets were extra soft they were maid cheap.
• Not enough computers available for customers, they had 2 and one was broken.
