“The hotel is located on a beautiful and tropical point, surrounded on three sides by water. Lagoons, with resident ducks, are located throughout the grounds.” Nov 18, 2009 by
Mark from Redmond,WA
“The hotel property was truly beautiful and resort-like. Staff was friendly. The room itself okay at best (and a disappointment after seeing the rest of the property). The bathroom and shower was configured for wheelchair access which made for an odd layout of the rest of the room.” Nov 16, 2009 by
Benny from Austin,TX
“The rooms are on the smallish side. Our room was obviously recently remodeled. No complaints about the value received.” Oct 26, 2009 by
Charles from Las Vegas,NV “The staff was very accommodating to us upon arrival getting the extra pillows we requested in a timely manner, etc. But we had to request to be changed suites because the air conditioner unit gaped slightly off the wall, letting in not only the humid air that made the room smell moldy, but also allowed for ants and such to sneak into the room. Once we changed rooms we were quite pleased with the accommodations for the rest of our stay.” Aug 3, 2009 by
Lisa from Oak Park,CA
“Great for families & relaxation. nice grounds & very friendly, helpful staff. I would recommend. Would like a coffee maker in the room.” Jul 26, 2009 by
Dee from Lakewood,CA
“Overall quality of hotel is wonderful with options on pools to use as well as spa and fitness center. Located with easy access to attractions in San Diego, especially Sea World. Also provides some activities for children. But room we were provided was in worst location, no view of grounds, no lanai, poor lighting from lamps (none at desk) - other rooms seemed to have better window locations and lanai.” Jul 22, 2009 by
Danielle from El Paso,TX
“Overall good, but hotel needs some updating and maintenance. Was told at front desk that they are going to do a major renovation in Sept. which will hopefully bring the appearance of the rooms up to par” Jul 21, 2009 by
Jeff from Jasper,GA
“I was upgraded to a newly refurbished cottage suite right on Mission Bay. It is a very large property that seems ideal for families with many things to do including numerous water sports.” Jun 28, 2009 by
Amy from Bakersfield,CA
“This hotel was gorgeous and the rooms were all single level bungalows with 2 rooms per bungalow. It was a great experience for our family to stay there.” Jun 22, 2009 by
Chris Hollern from Portland,OR
“The bay rooms looked OK - do not stay on either lagoon, they ate filthy mud puddles.” Jun 21, 2009 by
Kevin from Castle Rock,CO “Beautiful grounds. Room was clean and moderately sized.” Jun 20, 2009 by
Leticia from Calexico,CA
“Friendly and helpful staff. Area was peaceful, great for relaxing by the pool or taking a walk. Nice heated pools and jacuzzi.” Jun 17, 2009 by
Eric from Indio,CA
“This hotel has a lot of potential but the staff does not maintain it well or deal with the customers well. Very sad!” Jun 15, 2009 by
Gina from Las Vegas,NV
“The grounds are beautiful and the room was nice. The maid did not change my sheets as I found the same bug on my sheet on the second night as I had squished that morning. The rooms are very close together with thin walls so I heard a crying baby during the night. Also, they mow their lawns a little early for me, as I was trying to sleep in on vacation. They were mowing between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m.” Jun 2, 2009 by
Joel from Marana,AZ
“This hotel has not been renovated in a long time! Beware! We killed 4 spiders the first hour we were there. Restaurant was closed for private function. Dirty property with ponds and pools needing maintenance much like rest of facility.” Jun 1, 2009 by
Janet from Apple Valley,CA
“We enjoyed our stay and wish that we had been able to stay longer, the grounds were beautiful just like Hawaii. The pools, beaches were easy access and all close to our room. The staff was friendly and helpful.” May 31, 2009 by
Debra from Simi Valley,CA
“Great location and friendly staff.” May 29, 2009 by
Jason from Menifee,CA
“Beautiful grounds & wonderful location. The resort was older and has a lot of character not found in newer resorts. The single story layout of the lanai's were both spacious & refreshing. My family, guests and myself had a wonderful time, and it felt like we were in Hawaii. The purpose of our stay was a surprise birthday party for my wife, and we pulled it off flawlessly, thanks to the help of the wonderful resort staff.” May 13, 2009 by
Shelley from Batavia,IL
“1st room given was dirty, huge spider in bathroom tub, requested different room. Second was better, but the star quality of 3 is due to grounds beautiful, but room was 2.5.” May 5, 2009 by
Kim from Cerritos,CA
“Staff went out of the way to help me celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. They upgraded my room to a beach front. How fantastic!” Apr 24, 2009 by
Jaxon from Ammon,ID
“This hotel has a beautiful atmosphere. Lots of greenery, flowers, and beautiful rooms. Very nice for kids. A lot of room to run around and several pools throughout the premises.” Mar 25, 2009 by
Jane from Prescott,AZ
“The outside and common areas were lovely, the casita rooms were old and run down.” Mar 20, 2009 by
Shannon from Moorpark,CA
“Beautiful grounds, amazing pool, fantastic room!” Feb 26, 2009 by
Patrick from Langenberg,AE
“Excellent hotel that doesn't feel like one. The bungalow type accommodations make your stay feel more like living in a small town in your own cottage, close to the bay or at the beach.” Feb 25, 2009 by
Rodney from Stockton,CA
“Facility was clean, but the room smelled of mold, the porch light was so bright and the window coverings so poor that our room was barely semi dark. The hotel is off the beaten path and hard to get to from Freeway.” Feb 18, 2009 by
Pamela from Peoria,AZ
“Beautiful clean hotel with great beach and view of the bay. It is within 15 minutes of downtown San Diego and most attractions.” Feb 17, 2009 by
David from Abilene,TX
“Everything was really nice, I do not like the ribbed towels. Excluding the added price for parking. The location and room was Feb 10, 2009 by
Lisa from Los Alamitos,CA
“The room was musky smelling, there were no chairs to sit in. The furniture looked like it was from the early 60's. Parking was $22 a night, it should have been Feb 2, 2009 by
Seung from Berkeley,CA
“This hotel is a very wonderful place for family who wants to go to Sea World and look around San Diego. It is very clean and quiet. Beautiful environment. Very close to Sea World. The facilities are also very wonderful. But you have to pay to use most of them, even parking lot.” Feb 1, 2009 by
Sherri from Frederick,MD “This hotel nickel and dimed you for everything! Resort fees, deposits, parking fees, internet fees, tips for the person to bring your bags 5 feet to your door! Amazing. I expect some of that with a 4-5 star hotel, but this was a 3.5 star. I was not expecting all of these extra charges. We will not be back.” Jan 29, 2009 by
Jackie from Harbor City,CA
“We very much enjoyed our stay at the Paradise Point Resort. The room was comfortable with beautiful French country decor. The bathroom was large and clean. My husband fell in love with the great luxurious towels and the spa soap. My 2 year old daughter loved the lagoon with the ducks. We can't wait to go back!” Nov 28, 2008 by
Kay from Mukilteo,WA
“The setting and the staff were fantastic, I felt a million miles from the world, yet a short distance from the city. Gorgeous grounds. Room was fine, but basic.” Oct 23, 2008 by
Mark
“The grounds and staff are very good. The rooms themselves need an update, they look a little old. But I loved the privacy and setting of the rooms. Like a cabin in the tropics.” Oct 15, 2008 by
Lauren
“I understand that it is supposed to be a beach resort but the style of the room looked grandpa's study. The towels had some tears in them. We asked to extend our check out by 1 hour but they said no because they were paving the road outside our room - on a Sunday! Why wouldn't they do it on a Tuesday? That is the first time a hotel hasn’t extended my check out. The entire resort was pretty and had nice restaurants but I expected a bit more from a 4 star resort. We wanted to visit the pool but did not have time since we couldn't check out late.” Oct 10, 2008 by
Hilda
“This resort is located near Sea World and is easy access to major areas in San Diego. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The fact that you have your own private beach is a plus. Grounds also have tennis courts, several pools and golf course. Staff was very friendly.” Oct 8, 2008 by
Gerlinde
“Absolutely enjoyable place for a night, a weekend or longer. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and private. Facility is non smoking. The landscaping transplanted you to a tropical island and made it hard to leave.” Sep 18, 2008 by
Jeannie
“We enjoyed our stay. The resort was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed walking around the grounds.” Sep 17, 2008 by
Nicolas
“Overall, it is an 8.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Tim from Marana, AZ
“Very disappointed in the selection of this hotel. We stayed here once before in 1998. Decent hotel back then. This place needs to be closed for a refurbishment of its rooms. Bathroom was a disgrace. We only stayed here a few hours and woke up at 5:00 AM to go home. Stay at a Motel 6 and save the money.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Diane from Fremont, CA
“We were pleasantly surprised at the site amenities and its proximity to things for families to do. I would go back for the price.” Aug 31, 2008 by
Jean-Paul from Oakland, CA
“Paradise resort is tucked away on the north side of San Diego. It is a little oasis on Vacation island, just feet away from the beach. It was a refreshing visit to the San Diego area. This section of SD is relaxed, calming and filled with inexpensive eats and great coffee shops. Paradise is a perfect family destination. There were plenty of children, yet it was peaceful enough for us adults.” Aug 30, 2008 by
Shawn from Pueblo, CO
“Upon arrival our room smelled very musty, shower was rusted, tiles were missing and when we contacted staff we were told they could move us to another room but we would have to pay additional money. The room was terrible. Room service trays from the adjacent room went uncollected for 2 days. I have stayed at an Econolodge in Santa Rosa New Mexico that was considerable better. I will not return to that hotel. The hotel ponds were filled with a lot of litter and several dead fish floating.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Martha from Whittier, CA
“What more could you ask for in a resort! The beautiful surroundings just made you feel 100% relaxed. Everyone there was great and very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.” Aug 20, 2008 by
JoAnne from Petaluma
“They charged $22.00 per night to park, $5.00 to rent a basketball, for the weight room, to putt a golf ball, etc. We were miserable all week, wondering if we would get charged to use the toilet paper! Pools were cold, surrounded with skunk odor at night, and not well kept up. The only pool that is somewhat heated is the adult pool, which is rather restrictive if you're traveling with kids - they can't use it! Check this hotel's policies carefully before taking the risk of staying there.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Laurie from Mentor, OH
“It was a great resort. It was a great one-time vacation at a resort we would always want to go back to again and again. Would want a room with a mini kitchen if were staying longer.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Christopher from Saunderstown, RI
“We arrived to find a room with a door, but no windows, and only one queen bed. We assumed the couch was a pull-out, but it was not. Were our young sons supposed to sleep on the floor? We returned to the front desk. We were told the only other available room had a king and a pull-out queen. We accepted. We got to the room and were astonished. The bathroom had peeling paint, moldy grout, a spider colony. The 'entertainment unit' had doors and drawers falling off. Upon pulling out the sleeper sofa, the unit collapsed upon itself. I put the mattress on the floor and dumped the twisted metal frame back into the sofa.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Colleen from Gold Canyon, AZ
“We were very happy. I don't think people like to arrive somewhere and be nickel & dimmed to death! Parking was $22 per day and I thought that was outrageous! Other than that, it was a wonderful place!” Aug 11, 2008 by
Willow from Twentynine Palms, CA
“This hotel was gorgeously landscaped, perfect for kids, close to the water, had beautiful pools, wonderful hospitality. It was pure paradise. I can't wait to go back.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Greg from Anaheim, CA
“Beautiful, romantic, and private. I love the bungalows and being able to park just outside the room. I love this place.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Keith from Benicia, CA
“Nice hotel. Could use some remodeling, but was clean. Kids enjoyed the pools.”
