“This is a real 4-star hotel with perfect location, attractive landscape, self check-in machine and nice employees. The room is clean, however, with some unhappy wet smelling.” Nov 30, 2009 by
Al from Grand Junction,CO
“The reception was amazing and pleasant. Upgraded us to a room with an amazing view. Wish we had more time to spend there.” Nov 26, 2009 by
John from Lorton,VA
“Gorgeous location, incredible views, spacious and immaculate rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff.” Nov 25, 2009 by
from Los Angeles,CA
“Good place to stay.” Nov 16, 2009 by
Mike from Duluth,GA
“This hotel was great for location and view. The gardens and pool area were very nice. The hotel seems to forget the small things that people expect. No help by looking at brochures from possible tourist attractions. Front desk only recommends restaurants at places they have made deals with. Give you a card with their name on it, to present to the waiter. They also have removed the ice machines, and replaced that with signs to call room service for ice. At the checkout they give me a bill for incidentals (parking) a total of sixty dollars, which I expected. I paid with my card. A day later I found that after the $60 charge, they charged another 15 cents. Yes, 15 cents, for who knows what. It is not even worth my time to call and find out about this charge. This is a poor way to treat customers.” Aug 29, 2009 by
Rick from Bozeman,MT
“Enjoyed brief stay. The beds are very comfortable, staff is friendly, rooms are nice. Son loved the pools and especially the slides.” Jul 13, 2009 by
Cole from Hesperia,CA
“This was a great hotel. The parking is $20 so make sure you dig deep and spend the extra $5 for the valet - we did and it was great. We had a blast - the pool had a water slide - the beds were clean and comfortable - flat screen TV - everything was top notch.” Jun 12, 2009 by
Tom from Sonora,CA
“Overall a good stay.” May 19, 2009 by
from Rosemead,CA “The hotel was very clean, friendly staff, good amenities. Sliding patio doors let in cold draft & did not seal out outside ambient noise very well. No complimentary continental breakfast. Parking is $20 per night, which makes the hotel that much more expensive.” May 18, 2009 by
from Skyforest,CA
“Charges for parking at $20 to $25. Rooms were very clean but poor decoration. Poor lighting and felt like a hospital room.” May 7, 2009 by
Doug from Matthews,NC
“This hotel far met any expectations that I had.” May 4, 2009 by
Paul from Coppelll,TX
“The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay has a great location. Our room in the tower overlooked the marina and had a beautiful view of downtown in the distance and SeaWorld (the fireworks at night!). A short drive north is LaJolla. Although the room had a bit of airport noise, it didn't cause great distraction. The grounds are attractive and the fire pit is a center of attention.” Apr 30, 2009 by
Paul from Kenosha,WI
“The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay is a lovely property right on Mission Bay. Water is all around you; Sea World is just minutes away (you could walk there, if you wanted to do so). The staff was extremely pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The food and service at the restaurant were delightful. Parking is ample around the property, just not convenient to many rooms. Again, why a budget motel can provide free high-speed internet, but an upscale, luxury property cannot, is beyond me. Other than those things, no complaints at all!” Apr 18, 2009 by
Diana from Peoria,AZ
“Hyatt refurbished this property last year and it scores high for us, rooms with all zen type motif, large rooms, grounds that evoke peace and serenity and yet families would appreciate the family friendly atmosphere, marshmallow roast at night.” Apr 2, 2009 by
Frank from Toluca Lake,CA
“This was a beautiful hotel. We had kids and the outer building where we stayed was well-suited for them and they could run around without disturbing other guests. My parents stayed in the main tower. Same size room but the building was slightly nicer. Very nice space. Nice pool bar/restaurant. Right on the marina. Convenient to SeaWorld. Adjacent restaurant, Red Marlin, was very good.” Mar 31, 2009 by
Ann from Gilbert,AZ
“ Overall, this was a great place to stay with kids. The pools have awesome slides for the kids. With the location directly across the street from Sea World and less than a mile from Belmont Park we had a great time. ” Mar 21, 2009 by
Rose from El Centro,CA
“There was no coffee maker in room but very convenient bagels and coffee shop near hotel. Beautiful view of boats and bay. Wonderful to be in hotel where parking was not an extra charge. Easy access to I-5 or I-8 so able to get to all areas easily. Having refrigerator in room was nice for juices.” Jan 9, 2009 by
Isaac from Los Angeles,CA
“The toilet bowl thing threw me off a bit, but it almost looked like it needed to be replaced...like stains and debris may not be able to come out. It worked fine, and I was there only one night so I just put up with it. everything else was great.” Dec 28, 2008 by
Moshe from Baltimore,MD
“We went when not that many people were there, and many of the nearby attractions were closed. It was very quiet and i was able to spend a nice time with my wife. Very clean and has a very nice bar too! Highly reccomended.” Nov 2, 2008 by
Annette
“The view from the room was beautiful. The Rooms decor was very stylish and modern. The grounds were nice to stroll thru. However, most of all I would have to say the friendly attentive staff made this short get away superb.” Oct 10, 2008 by
Mato “Our room was immaculate, the staff was helpful and friendly and the view to die for. Good food, friendly for families (we saw a lot). Only complaint was the lighting was a bit dim, but that was it. Good luck and have fun.” Sep 29, 2008 by
Claire
“The rooms were very nicely decorated with details such as an iHome. But the sheets were slightly damp and therefore sticky. The lights in the room also did not provide very much light, and one did not work. The lounge areas and pool were also decorated nicely and were very inviting. The bagel store on the pier which is affiliated with the hotel had terrible service. The people were slow and inattentive and they were out of many things even though it had only recently opened. Overall I would recommend this hotel for the beautiful rooms and decor; also the location which is by the marina where kayaks and Jet Ski’s were available.” Sep 29, 2008 by
Galina
“It is conveniently located hotel if one does not want to stay downtown. All major attractions are nearby. The staff is eager to rectify any problems. However, the number of problems is daunting, e.g. blocked toilet, no toiletries in the room, did not inform about DHL delivery even at the check-out (but delivered parcel to the airport). Overall, it is hardly a four star hotel but solid up-scale three star.” Sep 17, 2008 by
JW
“The location was simply amazing. Closed to everything. The units was beautifully decorated, actually the entire hotel was tastefully decorated. The washrooms were poorly designed, water running everywhere. But all and all, we would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.” Sep 15, 2008 by
Alan
“Great for any type of travel, awesome staff.” Sep 13, 2008 by
Beery from Henderson, NV
“Over all we had a great get away.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Jake from Sherman, TX
“Did not like the dirty carpet and $23 valet parking ($18 self park) fee. Expected better from a Hyatt.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Cris from Prior Lake, MN
“The first room we were given was in one of the small buildings. The air conditioner in the room was leaking water or something, so large area around the AC unit was badly stained and wet. The rest of the carpet was also stained and smelled really musty. Outside our room on our private deck were dirty room service dishes and used pool towels. After complaining we were moved to a different room, also in one of the small buildings. This room did not have the flat screen TV, also the bathroom door latch was broken and the fridge didn't work and the light colored carpet was stained some too, just not as bad as the other room. When asked for a functioning fridge the maintenance guy told us that was the way they worked and if he replaced it the new one would be the same. There was bottled water in the fridge from the hotel, that was there before we were and it was room temperature, so that's as cold as it gets? Wrong. Also this room also had a musty moldy smell to it too. So after complaining yet again we were moved to a suite next to the marina. This room was fine, it was nice looking out right at the marina. The swimming pools and slides looked nice, but we didn't use them as they were way over crowded and it seemed like a lot of teenagers and obnoxious loud people. Also parking a car will run you $18 a night if you park it yourself, more for valet. So this hotel despite supposedly having a large re-model recently done still isn't consistently nice. We didn't see the tower rooms, but for sure avoid getting a room in the small buildings except for the suite building. Those small buildings rooms were musty and run down. Also if you have problems ask for the manager right away. We tried to get help from the front desk and they weren't very friendly or helpful, but the manager was nice and at least apologized for the poor rooms.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Alan from Orem, UT
“Nice hotel. My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The pool wasn't crowded. The staff was very friendly and helpful.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Steve from Torrance, CA
“Once we got through our check-in ordeal, I had asked for a room with two beds, yet when we arrived at the room, it was one king - with terribly filthy carpets! So I had to spend way too much time trying to get this resolved. The new room was very nice. Clean, ample space, all of the amenities we needed. We were also in a two story open air building, so it was very easy access to parking, lobby, pools, etc. The ease and location of parking couldn't have been better. We would definitely stay here again.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Don from Yorba Linda, CA
“Excellent hotel. Price was great. We planned to go to SeaWorld and it was very close. Staff was friendly. Room smelled a little, something like a smoker was there before but it was a non smoking room. Overall the experience was wonderful. Thanks.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Maris from Fontana, CA
“On the whole the hotel is beautiful, and everyone is very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Gene from Torrance, CA
“Excellent location. Two miles to Sea World (and you could take their taxi boat to Sea World, a nice option), and in the marina which provided nice walks and views. Three pools were great for kids, only one Jacuzzi. Nice rooms, quality beds, linens, TV, and granite counter, two sink bathroom.” Aug 31, 2008 by
Dushawn from Inglewood, CA
“The carpet in my room was dirty. The parking wasn't included in the room price. The hotel charged $18.00 a night for self parking and $23.00 for valet. The hotel was kid friendly. The lobby was beautiful and it was close to Sea World. Despite the carpet and parking I liked the hotel.” Aug 30, 2008 by
Lisa from El Segundo, CA
“This hotel was overall nice, but the room rates are way too high for what they provide. They call themselves a spa and resort, however, their spa was very small. The hotel should state they cater to families with lots of children. All 4 days that we stayed, we could never find a chair to lie on poolside. The fact that children were in all 3 pools and some wearing diapers in the pool made my husband and I not want to go in. The Jacuzzi was also filled with children and teenagers so that was not an option at night either. For a hotel that calls them 4 stars, I expect the bathroom floor to not have evidence of knowing who stayed there before I checked in. I saw several long, black curly hairs all over the floor. I also needed an ice bucket, but they told me they ran out of them even though it says in their brochure that my room comes with an ice bucket and fridge. By the way, the fridge didn't work. So, I asked for it to be repaired. They came and left a message saying it was repaired. It still wasn't working. I asked for one that worked. An hour later, a fridge came. This place has great potential, but definitely I recommend staying elsewhere for your money.” Aug 28, 2008 by
James from Las Vegas, NV
“Great pool area, lots of kids. Lack of chairs for guests you need to get down there by 8 am if you want a chair. My room was not very clean stained carpet, the air conditioner did not work correctly, and the room had a very strong odor.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Dianne from Plymouth, MN
“They are run-down, smell awful and look like a cheap motel room vs. a 4 star hotel. We had to pay for an upgrade. Absolutely did not meet our expectations.” Aug 26, 2008 by
David from Los Angeles, CA
“These rooms stunk, literally. They were in poor condition and showed a lot of deferred maintenance. The pool had no towels and worst the staff didn't care. Room service stops at 10:00 PM and there is no support retail in the area.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Kelly from Santee, CA
“Wonderful location. Saw Sea World's summer fireworks off the balcony.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Michael from Long Beach, CA
“This is a great hotel to bring your family to for a visit to Sea World. The water taxi from the hotel to the back gate of Sea World is unparalleled access and eliminated the hassle (and cost) of parking there. The swimming pools, with their water slides, made the facility quite kid friendly and a number of other amenities (sport fishing, boat and PWC rentals, etc.) appeared to be readily as well. My only complaint was regarding the cleanliness of our room. We found a half eaten granola bar on the floor of our room, a half smoked cigar on the balcony not to mention a carpet that had wet stains on it. The facility clearly needs some help with quality control of the housekeeping staff.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Darlene from Tulare, CA
“Loved the hotel. Very convenient to get to Sea World. Loved the boat taxi to Sea World. The grounds are lovely. Staff very friendly and accommodating.” Aug 7, 2008 by
John from El Paso, TX
“It is located by the water with a beautiful view of the marina. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Mariela from Santa Maria, CA
“The hotel was great and I would love to stay there again, however not on the couch like we did the first night. The bed we slept on was not all that comfortable even in a Jr. suite. It seemed like it was time to replace it. The overall feeling there was clean and nice. Good location and very convenient.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Bruce from Lincoln, CA
“Outstanding location. Great pool. Limited parking.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Rolando from Lakewood, CA
“Not a 4 star hotel.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Hung S. from San Ramon, CA
“Resort is good view.” Aug 2, 2008 by
Kimberly from Rossmoor, CA
“The hotel was overbooked, and they stated it had been for quite a while. I'm grateful that they gave us something. We were given a parlor room with a couch bed. The room was very clean. They complimented us for two, free breakfast for the inconvenience.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Danielle from Ann Arbor, MI
“Not bad, especially for the price and in a great location for what I wanted to be near.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Barbara from San Dimas, CA
“Lovely hotel rooms with beautiful ocean or harbor views. Three pools, great for families. Close to Sea World. Onsite dining, but no other nearby restaurants.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Robert from Gilbert, AZ
“It was very clean and beautiful.”
