“The hotel and location was good - what you would expect from a Marriott Courtyard. The hotel was under construction, which was something we did not know. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and it just would have been nice to know about the construction in advance.”

• Comfortable beds and pillows.
• Too much chlorine in the pool, the maid knocked on the door at 8 am even though we had just checked in the night before.

• Located right on the river.
• Food was horrible and staff was not always helpful.

“Very clean and nice. Breakfast was horrible. One of the staff members at the front desk was absolutely rude for no reason.”

• Extremely friendly staff.
• I did not agree this was a 3 star hotel.

“We were hoping to order room service as soon as we checked in but room service is not available at this hotel. This hotel was a 3 star but I disagree and think it should be a 2 or 2.5 star. They have remodeled/refurnished several of the main areas but it's not enough to compare with the other 3 star hotels in Spokane.”

• Great River View. Quiet and private.
• Cleanliness could be improved. Dirty shower curtain, coffee pot, slimy pamphlets & remote control.

“Nice location. Overall cleanliness of lobby and public areas seemed promising. Some disappointment with cleanliness of room. I would probably take my chances and stay again. Loved the river view.”

• Quiet, easy access, clean and comfortable.
• No microwave in room and no room service.

“Good overnight stay for single traveler on business. Hotel was easy to get to, staff was very friendly, and room and clean and comfortable. Wish there would have been a microwave in the room and/or room service.”

• Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
• The swimming pool was inside rather than outside.

“This hotel was a great place to stay. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The room was everything I had anticipated. I was a little worried after our first day, but housekeeping did a much better job of cleaning the 2nd & 3rd day of our stay. I would recommend this hotel to friends & family.”

• I loved the Courtyard and the balcony.
• Nothing.

“This is a great place to stay. It had free parking. Was within walking distance of Downtown. I loved the Courtyard and balcony. The rooms had their own refrigerators that was nice. Clean rooms, great showers. The park side was a little scary at night if you were alone. I would highly recommend this motel. I liked it better then the doubletree.”

• No complementary breakfast.

“Hotel was very clean, comfortable and staff friendly. We were very surprised that there was not a complementary breakfast. There was a breakfast buffet in their restaurant, and the food was much like that offered free in many hotel/motels. There were bottles of water in the room, but if opened, they would be charged to the room and were more expensive than buying them in a store. Stay was nice, except for the fact that breakfast was not included in the price. Access to wireless and computers--a plus.”

• The soft beds.
• The first key they gave me to get into my room did not work.

“It's right on the water, so it's great if you are a business traveler and want to get out for a job along the river.”

• Location and cleanliness of the rooms.
• All the teenage kids running around the hotel and throwing ice at the doors. Could not use the pool are because of the kids that were staying there.

“I enjoyed the room and loved the view. Unfortunately because of the teens there I was not able to use the pool facilities like I had planned. (the only reason I got the room) I was disappointed in the hours the pool area was open also. Would stay there again if there was not a bunch of wild kids there this time.”

• The location, desk staff was friendly.
• Uncomfortable beds, noisy air conditioning, horrible breakfast service.

“We had to make two trips to Spokane in quick succession. The first weekend we stayed at The Red Lion at the Park. It was lovely, from the lobby to the room to the pool. Very comfortable. The next weekend we were enticed to stay at the Marriott by a free breakfast deal. The hotels were comparably priced, but the Marriott was definitely the poorer value. It was not as nice overall, kind of dumpy and cluttered. Plus the hallways were dirty, the beds weren't comfortable and the air conditioning was noisy. And our free breakfast was a disaster with no service (really no service, but to bring us our check), no plates and food that ran out. We would never go back.”
