• The location was centrally located.
• The hotel looked like a motel renovation. It was bland and smelled like it hadn't been done since the 1960's.

“We had stayed at the other Red Lion down the block and were totally satisfied, but this one was old, smelly, and disappointing. It's made up of several separate buildings connected by long zig zag hallways. Everything was a long ways away. We ate the breakfast buffet on Saturday morning, and were very disappointed. It had very little on it, everything was luke warm, and the service was terrible.”

• View of river, proximity to everything, including Centennial trail.
• Soap dish cracked, sink cracked, water stains on sheers, stains on ottoman.

“Terrific location, close to everything going on in Spokane, I requested a river view room and could see river right in front of room. Room was quiet, slept great. Room service prompt. Lounge was sleepy but the food was good.”

“The room was nice, lobby less than impressive, staff disappointing. When we checked out my daughter left her paperback book in the room. We called to see if we could pick it up after we finished breakfast and the front desk told us they do not keep items left in the room.”

• Location by Spokane river. Hiking paths.
• Bed in first room had hair on sheets.

“Great location and nice facility, but older and starting to show some signs of age, such as a hole in the closet door from handle of main door. Bed in original room had unclean sheets, and it took nearly 30 minutes to get another room, although the people were friendly enough. New room didn't have area information like first room did.”

“This hotel is family friendly. The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and the pool was clean with plenty of poolside chairs/tables to lounge on. The gym was very nice for a hotel gym. The dining overlooks the river and has a great patio. This hotel is right on the river and is within walking distance of the downtown area.”

• Convenient location, nice riverside views and trail a few steps away.
• We were put in a wing
  far from the lobby, no elevator in the area.

“This was good for the priceline deal; if you were paying full price for rooms I would probably choose some of the other hotels in the area. Our bathroom was not as clean as I would expect, and we had to drive far around to our wing, where it seemed folks were always out smoking at the door - at first it looked like a service entrance. On the positive side, very quiet and comfy in the beds, with the river just a few steps out the door. 2 different pool areas meant neither was crowded, even on 90 degree afternoon.”

• Our room/bathroom were absolutely immaculate! Very nice restaurant, lovely outdoor patio overlooking the river.
• Can't think of anything.

“The hotel was everything I hoped for, helpful staff, very clean, lots of hot water. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the outdoor patio was beautiful, with a lovely view overlooking the river.”

• Poor house keeping, reuse of toiletries.

“As far as I'm concerned an unhygienic hotel is not worth any price. The front desk staff was quite nice and tried to be as helpful as possible. Location was fantastic. But half used shampoo bottles in the room at check in is just not acceptable. And apparently you need to be out of the room by 9 am if you would like your room cleaned. The housekeeping staff obviously is clueless or lazy I'm not sure. After a five day stay the bed was not changed once. Mine at home gets changed more frequently and my floor is vacuumed at least once in that time.”

• It was easy to proceed between my vehicle and the room.
• Safety was clearly not important to the staff and the room was in disrepair.

“Located on the river in Spokane, the river inn is a long walk from downtown and not a short walk to the restaurants across the river. The rooms we stayed in was in disrepair as there was a large hole in the closet door and the window latches did not work making this particular room with its two windows and one proximate the roof easily entered by intruders. This room was portrayed as a 3 star; this is not possible; a 2 star at the best.”

• Great location on the river and close to downtown.
• In the building we stayed in you had to leave the water running to keep it warm enough to use - It took 5 minutes before it would warm up.

“Even with a small census on Christmas Day, we were placed on a second floor three wings away from the lobby. The room had a cabinet for microwave and fridge, but they would be provided only on request. While not every business room has a fridge these days, almost all have a microwave.”

“This hotel was clean and in a great location close to downtown. The rooms were spacious. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was excellent. The staff was friendly.”

• It is definitely not 3-star caliber.

“This hotel isn't quite in downtown Spokane, though it's right on the edge. It doesn't compare to the Double Tree, or to the other Red Lion in town. The rooms are clean, but there's absolutely nothing special about them. The hotel itself is a horrible design - hundreds of rooms on just two floors, so it stretches for nearly a half-mile.”

• It was close to downtown and close to the river. Great location.
• The room was great, but it was noisy.

• They use bath & body works supplies in the bathroom!
• I couldn't take the blankets with me!

“The Red Lion was a fantastic place for us to stay. The room was welcoming and very clean. My year-old baby enjoyed crawling around on the floor and admiring herself in the full length closet mirrors. We will definitely stay again!”

• Very comfortable and clean, riverfront location.
• Building is a typical characterless large motel design.

“The hotel gave us one of the best rooms, ground level, on the river side. It was very quiet and comfortable. We were able to walk right out of our room and down to the park in ten minutes, and to town in another five, without having to cross any major streets. Everything worked perfectly (internet access, plumbing, etc). Very convenient location, free parking, plus full hotel services.”

• Comfortable.
• Housekeeping missed us 2 of the 5 days stay. No towels at the pool. Hot tub was out of order.

“The hotel was comfortable and good for family. The housekeeping was not great. It was always late and made it inconvenient for us as we had to stay away until they were done. The housekeeping also missed our room 2 out of the 5 days we were there. The price made up for the lack of service we received.”

• I loved the shower.
• The room was too hot and the cooler/heater did not seem to be working.

“We essentially just slept here because we went out to dinner/movie. We did not use the pool or other amenities although the hot tub was not working. We enjoyed our stay.”

• It's right on the river with miles of walking paths just outside your door.
• Our first room had not been cleaned and they had to move us.

“The room had been renovated with many great features. The bed was comfy and the room was quiet. Great location right on the Spokane River, close to downtown. It also had a nice bar and restaurant on the property.”

• This is a Motor Inn and is not at the same level as the other 3 star hotels in downtown Spokane.

“This hotel should not be on the same level as the Doubletree or Red Lion on the Park. If it is a 3 star they should be a 4 star.”

“Red Lion River Inn was a huge disappointment. The airport shuttle took 45 minutes to arrive and once I arrived at the front desk, I was given a friendly greeting, but no mention or apology for the very late shuttle. Though I was noticeably tired from the long day of travel and late arrival, the clerk assigned me to room #, apparently the absolutely furthest room from check-in possible (literally around a five minute walk with heavy suitcases in the middle of the night). I know the hotel was not full, so why the inconvenience? The room itself was sub par as well, with a lumpy mattress and a poor paint job in the bathroom. The next morning at check-out, the clerk gave me no greeting or eye contact and my attempts to contact management (Les Hammons) were ignored. Will avoid Red Lion River Inn in the future!”

• This hotel was right on the river, a pleasant walk to the park and Downtown.
• We needed help to bring the luggage to the 2nd floor since there were no elevators.

“I would stay at this hotel again. The front desk personnel were polite, the rooms furnished nicely, the exercise room was great in comparison to many others I've seen and the restaurant had a great location.”

• The room was nice and so was the bed. They gave lots of pillows.
• The room was nice, but they never could get me a key that worked, so I was always lock out. Very hard to handle.

“The hotel was okay, I have stayed there before. The Red Lion at the Park is much better. I would have rather stayed there. It was just that the key thing was frustrating.”
