• Great location within walking distance to downtown attractions.
• Had to pay $16/night for parking. That was expensive since many surrounding hotels have free parking.

“Room was clean and neat - for some reason we had a room with 2 double beds. My husband is tall so a queen bed would have been preferable. Bathroom was clean but dated. Parking was expensive at $16/night as many surrounding hotels offer free parking.”

• The mattresses were really comfortable and felt top notch. The linens were cushy and clean as well.
• The heater/fan system was very loud and came on intermittently through the night which woke us up several times.

“We were very pleased with the hotel and staff. The restaurant amenities on site were convenient and the food was good. We enjoyed the location near the river and could people watch a little. We would stay again.”

• The fire alarm going off at 1:10 am and having to walk down 10 flights of stairs.

• The AC/heating fan was extremely loud cycling on and off through the night.

• The location of the hotel was great.
• The rooms seem to be pretty old and need some updating.

“This hotel is located right in Downtown Spokane. It is right near the river and our room had a view of the water and the park. The rooms were pretty old and our room had a very bad smell in the bathroom and closet. We were only there for one night so no need to complain as we were not in the room very long. It was a busy day as I believe there was come kind of convention but staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking is pretty expensive.”

• The lobby could be upgraded.

“The STAFF made all the difference. They were friendly, over accommodating, and extremely helpful with questions regarding the area and my business. Rooms were typical Starwood and sufficient.”

• I love the rooms, free cookies, and location.
• They did not tell us we would be chared 16 dollars per day for parking! outrageous. They met us halfway on the bill- but i felt it was very decieving.

“The rooms, and location make this one of the best hotels to stay in Spokane. However, people should note that if they have a car they will be charged 16 dollars per day for parking it at the hotels parking garage. Since the hotel is downtown, you do not really have the option of parking elsewhere (in other words for free). We were not told this when we checked in- we were told just to park in the garage and that it was self parking. Then we got the bill and the end and it was 16 dollars per day! This is a lot, for Spokane. They met me half way on the bill, but I felt they should not have charged me since I never was told that.”

“Nice hotel, would recommend and stay again. Smoking rooms were sectioned off from other area of hotel, very nice. Airport shuttle ran late which was a big plus! Every staff member encountered was very friendly.”

• Demanded upgrades for basic needs - very disappointing.

“Hotel was nice, but worn at the heels. Room reservations, though claimed to be 3 star, were less - needed upgrades for a decently sized room with appropriate bed size. Does three star indicate small back bedrooms with cramped quarters, too small beds. Don't think so.”

• I like the cookies, the comfortable beds and the restaurant amenities.
• The bathroom in my room looked like a high school locker room.

“I did not enjoy my last stay at the Doubletree but this time they came through. We had better service, a better room and a better stay. The bathroom was in desperate need of remodeling, blue and white tile like a locker room but, all in all, it was a good stay. The 16 dollars per night to use the self-parking just kills me, though.”

• It was close to restaurants.
• They woke me up with a 5 a.m. wake up call that I did not order.

“The stay was fine except that I had to pay an extra 16 dollars for parking because they do not own a parking lot. Also, I was not impressed with the wake up call at 5 a.m. that I didn't ask for. The rooms were quite nice and it was a good location.”

• Nice bath robes (but you have to ask for them) and large enough hot tub!

“Welcome cookies are delicious. Hot tub is a good size (not crowded even when there were 9 people out there that evening). Beds are great, comfy-not too rigid, not too soft. Loved the pillows. Front desk staff was really nice. Also the business center-free use of the computers (we weren't caring one) and we were able to print out the boarding pass for our next day flight.”

• Kind of tricky to get to having so many immediate lefts and then immediate rights to take in downtown Spokane during rush hour.

• Poor service - lots of young staff (men) hanging around and sharing cash yet no one to open the door for us, loaded down.

“Really needs to improve its front of house at the entrance - young men ignore all customers, not helpful in the least. Asked about being on the airporter (leaving at noon) and at noon, standing and no update, so ask again, to be told rudely that "well no one is listed here". Normally what we did would more than suffice to have it clear that we wanted to catch that airporter. The driver was so rude and sarcastic that despite the great comfy room, service means a lot to me, that I will not stay there again. The front desk person was super with us in checking in - but as said, the first and last impression was by these young doormen milling around, talking to themselves and dividing up a whack of bills and closing the door when they noticed me looking. Very unusual and disconcerting. Seriously, looked like something out of a mafia movie!!”

• I loved having operable windows on the 14th. It is located next to a small area of downtown with trendy bars and restaurants.
• Parking was expensive for Spokane with empty streets and parking lots.

“Good solid hotel with a few age lines around the edges. Build during the Expo 74 Worlds Fair and showing it's age. The exterior is being repainted and I expect the rest will be freshened up soon. The location on the Spokane River Park is excellent and all of downtown Spokane is within easy walking distance. Convenient to major roads.”

• It is attached to the convention center, which detracts from the ambiance of the hotel if you are not there for a convention.

“This is a nice, clean hotel, close to downtown Spokane and the Riverfront Park. The hotel is somewhat lacking in charm and ambiance because it is attached to the Convention Center (and no convention was ongoing).”

“At previous visits I thought this hotel was top notch, but during my recent stay I was disappointed. The desk staff was not as friendly this time, and did not make me feel welcome. I would have to think about recommending this hotel to any friends/family traveling to this area.”
