• The breakfast (fresh waffle maker, daily hot specials) was more than we expected.
• There were silverfish in our bathroom and the hotel room smelled like old smoke.

“It's understandable that the hotel is now non-smoking, but realize that some of the old smoking hotel rooms were converted. So that old smoke smell is still very apparent. But it is the closest hotel to the Trestles surf spot and sufficient for what we were there for. It's a short hike down over the highway and to the beach. Outside many of the hotel suites, you'll see wet suits and rash guards hanging to dry. It's easily a good place to stay if you are here for the beach.”

• Room was large had TV, large fridge, coffee pot and microwave which was much more than I expected.
• Did not get to check in early, we arrived around 1:00 pm and they had no rooms ready.

“Fine, decent price. Probably best for your buck in the area. Clean - no weird smells. Oh, shower in the evening because in the morning when everyone else is using the shower it turns from warm to cold every 30 seconds.”

• Good mattress, plus free wireless Internet.
• At first the room smelled like it had once been a smoking room.

“We loved everything about this hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, not to mention, very clean. The Continental Breakfast was a delightful surprise, we enjoyed it. We look forward to returning to this hotel.”

• It was very clean and neat. The appointments were new.
• Outside of town and had to drive 2-3 miles.

“The hotel was easily accessible from the freeway and was neat and clean. The room was very new in the furniture and bathroom facilities. The breakfast was good and we were able to get on our way the next day very quickly. The staff was cordial and friendly and answered our questions. A family would like to stay here too.”

• Room was very large, with separate living quarters.
• Check in man acted like he was dead. Not welcoming at all.

“Unfortunately, we only stayed over night, but would have like to stay longer. Room was very large, had a separate living quarter complete with fold-out couch, 2 comfy chairs, coffee table, computer area, and second TV. Bathroom was clean and roomy with swing out bar for shower curtain. Bed was comfortable and air cond. worked.”

• Convenient location, reasonably priced, clean.
• Only one elevator, loud housekeepers.

“You get what you pay for and little more. We went thinking it was going to be really bad and went with open minds and were quite shocked at how nice and clean the place was. Towels could have been a bit softer; fabric softener is not that expensive. Other than that and the loud housekeepers (this was only because our room was by their supply area) I would stay there again. Highly recommended if you're on a budget and don't want to get grossed out by other places.”

• I liked the fact that the hotel had wireless, a balcony, big spacious room and was clean.
• There was just a minuscule little big on the toilet but it was the only bug I saw and was nearly invisible.

• Room was very clean.
• Staff not too friendly, hard to talk to housekeepers as they did not understand English.

“Overall, this hotel met our needs for this trip. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Front desk did not come across as very friendly. Needed a couple items from housekeeper and had a very hard time just asking for a plastic bag! English was not the primary language, I had to go get the trash can and show her the bag! Overall, satisfied.”

• Grand, child friendly, convenient.
• Nothing.

“We stayed and it was 1 mile to camp Pendleton, came to welcome our marine son back from the war in Iraq. Was convenient and clean, our grandchildren stayed a couple of nights and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. For an older hotel, we felt very comfortable and welcome. Thank you.”

• It was close to venue we were going to and the rooms were nice
• I don't really have any complaints. If I did I would tell you believe me

• It was better than we expected, very easy to find, and clean.
• No negative feedback.

“My family and I were pleased with the location and the ease of finding the hotel. We were surprised with the appearance of our room, it was spacious, clean, comfortable and relaxing for our two young sons. We were even given a room with a small balcony, its too bad we couldn't stay in San Clemente very long, it is a beautiful city. I will recommend this to my family.”

• The pool was wonderful and the continental breakfast was good also.
• It is right next to the freeway and pretty loud and we had to get new door keys three times because they stopped working.

“We would definitely stay there again. However, it is very family friendly and the kids loved the pool. It is convenient to the beach and the small town of San Clemente.”

• I liked the light up palm trees in the front of the hotel.
• I would prefer to have an air conditioner that refreshed the room, the room could get stuffy.

“Good location, staff nice but not overly attentive, they kept to themselves a lot. Overall, it was functional and affordable.”
