• Very pretty hotel.
• The manager does not care for the costumers.

“Someone took my son's favorite toy in the room, and don't say anything. The next day they found my son's toy, after my husband press out and wait a long time until they found. The employees don't have connection between each other. The manager was cold and had less sensibility with my son's feeling.”

• Elevator bell was way too loud!

“The elevator bell at a normal sound level can keep me awake, and this bell was so loud. I always look for a room as far away as possible from the elevator for this reason. That was the only thing I did not like about the hotel. Otherwise we had a great room. We had a king bed and a sofa bed, which was great for my daughter. There were no resort fees, but calls and internet were not free. The area is very industrial, so at night I didn't venture out, just because of the desolate feel. The restaurant was 95% empty, but it still took a half hour to get a sandwich at 2:00 in the afternoon. Prices were high, but normal for a hotel restaurant. We received the traditional warm cookies, which were great, plus a complimentary 16oz bottle of water, which was very nice. I would stay here again, and just stay very far from the elevator!”

“When I checked in there was no "non-smoking" rooms available. The first smoking room offered to me still had cigarette ashes in the bathroom sink. The stench was so bad that my boyfriend's eyes started watering! The second smoking room I was offered was cleaner but still had a cigarette odor. Housekeeping was supposed to come and refresh the room but there was no change in the smell when we returned from dinner. Our mini refigerator was out in the hallway for some reason. I even had to wash the outfit I did not wear because it smelled of stale cigarette smoke from hanging up in the closet in our hotel room. It was a horrible night!”

“When I checked in there was no "non-smoking" rooms available. I went into the first smoking room and there were cigarette ashes in the bathroom sink and it stank of smoke (so badly it made my boyfriend eyes water). We were able to change rooms to another smoking room and it was not as bad as the first one. However our "mini"refigerator was out in the hallway for some reason and housekeeping never came to refresh the room when requested by us. When I unpacked the very next day my clothes all had to be washed because they reeked of cigarette smoke. It was an awful night!”

• The location of the hotel was excellent for us in regard to getting to the different places we needed to go.
• None.

“This hotel was a pleasant experience with very cordial staff and the convenience of a full restaurant. Breakfast was great, choice of menu or buffet. Room was big, nice flat screen TV, couch, etc. Definitely worth it!”

• Great location, within in 2-3 miles of Spectrum Center, an outdoor mall with restaurants, movie theater & shops.
• No free internet service.

“This is in a business area, so it was very quite at night, yet is was only about 2-3 miles front Spectrum Center which is an outdoor mall with a good choice of restaurants, movies & shops. We ate at the California Pizza Restaurant, the food and service were great. Many other restaurants available.”

• Crappy view - the internet did not work in the first room I was assigned.

“Nice hotel a bit off the beaten track. My hotel looked like an older property that got renovated to become a Doubletree. My room had two queen beds that were extremely comfortable. There was a flat screen TV, multiple telephones, and a large desk. My view was of the air conditioning units. It was a great value for the quality of hotel.”

• The rooms were very modern, lots of windows, great cookies, ample parking.
• Color were a little dark, a mini fridge would have been helpful traveling with kids.

“We stayed two separate nights at the hotel on our trip to California. Both rooms were very clean and modern. The staff was extremely helpful at check in, when we requested extra items, and again at check out. We left a couple of items in the room and when we called back the staff promptly found them and called us back. Definitely would stay there again.”

“This hotel is great for couples, families, or business. Its located near lots of good restaurants (using the hotel Shuttle), is very quiet, and has plenty of amenities. The bed and room is nice and comfy, the bathrooms are large and pretty; lobby is inviting, customer service is great. I would definitely stay here again and refer it to friends.”

“I was staying in a smoking room and this was not a good experience. I don't understand why there are smoking rooms in hotels. People should be fined heavily. It was very difficult to get back on the freeway to travel south on i-5. The hotel needs to provide simple and printed maps.”

• Very centrally located and clean.
• They were remodeling the fifth floor and we stayed on the forth floor so hammering started before 8:30 in the morning.

“Very nice looking and great location as far as easy access to all freeways and great mall right down the street. The hotel is clean and furbished nicely, our bathroom sink was clogged but my husband for the most part fixed it. I would stay there again just for its location.”

“This hotel surprised me. I was not expecting something quite so nice! The location was easy enough to find and far enough from the freeway where noise was not an issue. The lobby was visually appealing, the rooms were very clean and the bedding extremely comfortable. They were in the midst of training some new staff, but those that helped me were courteous and informed.”

“The hotel is conveniently located to business and shopping. Only some staff was helpful. The TV did not work. Overall, it was a good place to stay if you need a shower and a bed, just make sure you check how clean your towels are before you use them.”

“This is a nice hotel. The staff could be friendlier and most of the staff has English as a second-language. They gave me a room with an unmade bed and dirty towels on the bathroom floor. However, it was easy to exchange rooms. Besides the dirty room, I enjoyed my stay.”

“This Hotel is starting to need a facelift which someone in the front desk told be was in the plans. I was put in a smoking room even though I detest smoke; the irony of this is there are only a few places one can smoke in the state of California, not in restaurants, bars malls, offices, department stores. But someone can give you a hotel room to breath smoke that been absorbed in their carpet, wallpaper and bed linen. Someone did come up and spray which helped for about an hour. Internet is available only if you have your own cable, but hotel will give you one to use with a $25.00 deposit. Free parking, but must get a placard from the front desk for your car. About 3 minutes drive to the Spectrum.”

• The view from the room and relaxing in the pool, convenience of airport shuttle.
• Late departure of the airport shuttle, no driver for 5:30 departure, late arriving at 5:45.

“A very pleasant stay near the outskirts of Irvine. Relax in the pool and in the moderately-sized rooms. Using a car from this location is essential if you are planning to use it as a base unless all your business is in town.”

• In-room coffee was awful. Had to go to the restaurant for Starbucks.

“Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. It had very luxurious beds and the toiletries were excellent quality. We also enjoyed the warm Chocolate chip cookies. The location was a bit farther from the airport than we had hoped for, but it's proximity to the Spectrum Shopping and entertainment center made up for that. Our only real complaint was that the complimentary in-room coffee service was awful tasting! We had to resort to going down to the restaurant to buy Starbucks every morning.”

• Parking expensive, Internet access was expensive, and pool was tiny and cold.

“Overall, it was a pretty good stay. The location was perfect for us, right off the 5 highway. But as nice as it was, the "hotel policies" left a lot to be desired. Parking was expensive and it wasn't even a privately-owned lot. I challenged that at the front desk, but I was told it was "hotel policy" and no one would elaborate further. Internet access was also expensive. So much so, that we didn't use it. The pool was tiny, about 20 feet long and 10 feet wide, and it was cold. The hot tub was normal sized. We were there over the weekend, they were really busy, and they didn't have any double-bed rooms left, but all single bed rooms at least have a pull-out couch. It was tolerable. They also have cribs available gratis. Overall, it was pretty good for the price we paid. I would stay there again.”

“The hotel was drastically overpriced and overrated. The room had huge stains all over the carpet. The fees for internet access were excessive. The coffeemaker was broken. The bathroom was dirty. This is the last time I'm ever staying at a Doubletree.”

• The room was clean, bed comfortable, great pool, perfect location for access to freeways, mall, food, beaches.
• $7/night parking, staff not very attentive, a little flustered. It seemed all 3 at the front desk at the time.

“This is a clean and comfortable hotel with all the expected amenities in an excellent location for quick access to freeways, malls, food, businesses etc. The pool was wonderful with oversized beach towels provided and countless banana lounges under the swaying palm trees. Only annoyance was the Friday night revelers who were not guests of the hotel, but helped themselves to the pool anyway with a case or two of beer from the gas station in tow (overheard them telling each other this). They had access as the pool did not require room key access; was just a regular door off the lobby. The lobby was a little small but well appointed. The bed was very comfortable with more than enough pillows. Yummy, complimentary warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in. We loved the Wolfgang puck coffee and tea machine. Kids loved the sofa-bed. Maids were generous with their toiletries. Overall, a very good experience. Will definitely stay there again and again.”

• It was very convenient for us since we had to go to Huntington Beach the next morning.
• Nothing.

“The only difficulty we had was finding the hotel. We finally called to get better directions. The room was clean and comfortable. We slept soundly and had an excellent meeting with our friends the next day. Staying at this hotel made my visit perfect.”

• Pretty far out there in Irvine for a Costa Mesa/Irvine location. No door man, bell hop.

“Clean but lobby smelled of alcohol due to proximity to bar and special events going on in the evening. Despite this rooms were quiet. Hotel was clean and rooms were comfortable.”
