“The beds dipped in the middle - should buy new beds. Should try to get the smell out of the motel -it was a terrible stale smell.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Kathy from Redondo Beach, CA
“I stayed here because my home was being tented for termites and I wanted something close to my office. The location was great; a 2-minute commute, but the trains took some getting used to. They do run all night but did not affect my sleep. The room was clean and comfortable and reasonably sized and not a shoe-box like some. I would not rate the motel (and it is a motel, not a hotel) high in maintenance, my first room had a broken U-lock and nonworking air conditioning. They were very nice about relocating me but these are things that should be checked each time a room is being readied for a guest. The Continental breakfast was quite adequate, a variety of breads, bagels and waffles for the toaster, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal and milk, fruit, juice, etc.” Mar 10, 2008 by
Pete from Alpharetta, GA
“Great staff and location. Room was clean.” Feb 6, 2008 by
Dyan from Ukiah, CA
“We chose this hotel because it was dog-friendly and close to the event we were attending. We were very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Staff was courteous and helpful. Room clean and quiet, and they did not charge us an extra fee for our dogs, in fact we felt that the dogs were welcomed. Breakfast was good, and the area clean and pleasant. There is a very popular restaurant and bar in the same parking lot, but we could not hear it. Overall the room was very quiet and well insulated. My only problem was that the wireless internet didn't work in our room (did elsewhere in the hotel such as the lobby) and even after spending time with the tech support I could not get internet connection in the room. This would have been more of a problem if I had been there for business rather than pleasure.” Jan 23, 2008 by

“Entering the lobby was delightful with a smiling receptionist. Directions to room adequate. Exercise room very nice. The ear plugs helped a little. Liked the open space outside the windows.” Jan 14, 2008 by
Les from Apache Junction, AZ
“This hotel is better than the worst and barely adequate for business travel. I would not take my family here. The staff is doing you a favor to help and the rooms are dirty.” May 24, 2007 by
Amy from Newport Beach, CA
“For what I needed, a room for one night just to sleep, this hotel fit my needs. I wouldn't stay here for an extended period of time. The proximity to the train and the staff was a turn off for me.” Jan 19, 2007 by
Michael from Spokane, WA
“Overall I liked it; the six sided concrete rooms converted from a grain silo were cool. You can't move the railroad tracks and the concrete room really held the noise way down. One thing that could be greatly improved on is the breakfast.” Nov 5, 2006 by
Rhonda from Las Vegas, NV
“We have stayed at this hotel five or more times with our family. The historic buildings are quaint and the cute little burger restaurant makes all of us feel at home. Beach access is around the corner. The free breakfast is wonderful and healthy for everyone.” Sep 24, 2006 by
William H. from Thousand Oaks, CA
“This was the worst experience I have had at a hotel location in a long time. The hotel was situated between the very busy 5 Fwy and a pair of railroad tracks! Upon check in, I had noticed the 5 Fwy and asked the front desk if I could get on the "quiet side" of the hotel away from the 5 freeway traffic noise. The said no problem, what they did not tell me was the other side of this hotel is situated right next to a pair of well traveled railroad tracks! Upon arrival to my room, I immediately "experienced" the first train go by which simulated a Boeing 747 landing in my hotel room! Within 15 minutes of being in my room yet another train came "storming" through my room! I finally called the front desk and asked how many more trains do they expect between now and tomorrow morning? He said maybe 2-3 more. As it turned out, that was a absolute lie! I had these thundering trains go by about every hour on the hour (for a total of about 6 of them) for my nights stay! When you are on the 4th floor such as I was, you literally look down on top of the train cars! This is how close you are to the tracks! I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!” Sep 24, 2006 by
Tim from Springfield, MO
“Clean, friendly, good location, easy to get to Laguna beach and Newport beach. Would stay there again. Local train was close but went by fast and did not wake my up.” Sep 16, 2006 by
Scott from Florissant, MO
“I would NEVER stay at this property again. It sits right beside some VERY active train tracks. The trains come through all night long, and due to the street they cross, they must sound their horns as they approach. There is NO WAY to sleep through this noise. Horrible night's rest.” Sep 12, 2006 by
Lawrence from Saline, MI
“No price adjustment offer from management for not having my room cleaned one night of a four night stay. Otherwise I will give them one more chance and stay here again.” Aug 27, 2006 by
Robert from Miami, FL
“Perfectly fine hotel. Nothing extravagant, nothing disappointing.” Aug 1, 2006 by
Stuart from Seattle, WA
“Overall, a decent hotel. Clean room, looked newly renovated. Relatively close to most Orange County attractions, or within a reasonable driving distance. There is really nothing of note within walking distance. A bit far for visitors who want to visit Los Angeles proper, but then almost everything you want to do or see is about a half hour drive anyway in the LA-Orange County area.” Jul 19, 2006 by
Dominic from Castro Valley, CA
“Good value for the price. Will stay again.” Jul 14, 2006 by
Dwayne from Port Townsend, WA
“Very pleasant and relaxing mini vacation.” Jun 8, 2006 by

“I loved it. I hope that was short enough.” Jun 4, 2006 by
Daniel from Lauuna Hills, CA
“The staff was very accommodating. I love the way they converted an old grain mill into a hotel.” May 22, 2006 by
Mike from Cleveland, OH
“The only negative thing I can say about this hotel was that their airport van did not start service until 7:00AM, Their breakfast service started at 6:00AM I had a 6:30AM flight therefore I had to take a taxi to the airport and had to leave at 5:00AM. I had to pay for both the taxi and my breakfast at the airport. When a hotel is selected in the airport area I believe it should accommodate travelers all hours of the airports operations.” Mar 20, 2006 by
Barry from La Quinta, CA
“Nice room, very nice location.” Jan 17, 2006 by

“We did not get much rest due to the noise and distractions. Was disappointed that there were no cards for review in the room nor did the staff ask me about my stay. I emailed the hotel chain with my comments.” Dec 8, 2005 by
Fabrice from Greer, SC
“I felt like I am stealing money from the hotel right from the beginning. The room was a clean and big room right next to a railroad. When I say next to a railroad, I think I could have touched the trains passing by from my windows ! I cannot tell you how noisy it is when a train pass by and it s even better at 3 am. That s a shame because beside that big problem it s a pretty nice hotel.” Oct 31, 2005 by
Dave from Santa Fe, NM
“If you like trains, as I do, its a great location. If not there is a train every ten - fifteen minutes and the noise may be a problem. Breakfast area is fun, in an old grain elevator, as are many rooms. Breakfast was better than most.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 1, 2005 by

“Good place to stay if you are looking for a clean place to stay for one night.” Aug 3, 2005 by
Joe from Malibou Lake, CA
“I was awfully disapointed. no support for the items that were wrong. I was given a wireless adapter for the non funtioning Internet connection in exchange for physically holding one of my credit cards. very unprofessional. It was a fruitless three nights. no excuse or remady for the broken internet and pay per veiw movies. I was told that they would move me to a functioning room if I packed up my stuff. I did and they did not relocate me.All and All, a terrible stay!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
