“Located in a business park, this branch of the Hyatt Regency is conveniently located to the 405 freeway, dining in Irvine and the surprising quiet beach town of Corona del Mar. Unlike many of the other beach towns in the Los Angeles area, Corona del Mar offers many opportunities for shopping, dining and, yes, strolling on the beach without the crowds that usually accompany such attractions. If enjoying a sunset stroll on the beach and exploring the nearby botanical gardens sounds appealing, the Hyatt offers peace, quiet and an unparalleled location.”

“Staff and physical facilities are excellent. The tricky tacky extra charges for things that should be included are irritating. Food and beverage prices are painful. This compromises the overall experience significantly.”

“I am a business traveler, free wireless internet is the most important thing to me and there wasn't any. Also, I like a well lit room, the room was too dark.”

• The room accommodations were very fresh, clean and up to date.
• Parking lot is inconvenient walk and 14.00 a night too high.

“Very friendly staff, greetings upon arrival. Room accommodations meets expectations. Well appointed with fresh up to date decor. Very comfortable bed. Cafe and restaurant were convenient. Pool area was clean and inviting.”

• Exceptional staff at every level.
• The parking fee was not known ahead of time, though it was not an unreasonable charge. Charging for Wi-Fi a little over the top.

“Outstanding staff - friendly, very competent, well trained, quick to respond to questions, needs, etc. Good location, just of the 405 freeway. Nicely appointed facility. Wold certainly stay there again.”

• The room to me was not special.

“The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The appearance of the lobby was beautiful, upscale. But, the room was disappointing. There was nothing special about the room. Also, they charged to hookup to the internet, which at most hotels today it is free.”

• Very nice hotel. Safe, new, great staff. Nice beds. It met my expectations for a Hyatt.
• I believe the bathrooms could be larger. The AC could be set a little colder. Room service for 2 milkshakes was outrageous. over $20.00.

“Needed a hotel in the Costa Mesa area. Was hoping it would be around South Coast Plaza, but we got Irvine since it was in the surrounding area. A very nice hotel with nice rooms and comfy beds and linens. Staff was nice and prompt.”

• This hotel has the best fitness room that I have ever seen.
• We did not like the idea of paying for parking when one is a hotel guest.

• The girl who checked us in was very nice. The grounds were beautiful.
• The room was subdivided with doors on both sides. You could hear everything going on in both rooms.

“The hotel was nice but I would not stay there again due to the room. The room had no privacy for sound due to the doors going into the rooms on either side. The family on the left had children and were laughing late into the night. The people on our right had to be told to turn down the music by security. The music went down but the voices and talked late into the night. I did not enjoy my evening or my rest.”

• The restroom inside the room was not well maintained/mold present.

“This is a beautiful facility with great service but the rooms are not what you would expect from a 4-star hotel. The restroom was not real clean--mold in shower, on the mat and around flooring. The room itself was nice.”

• Friendly doorman - relaxing lounge.
• Maid service did not remake the foot of the bed. Sheets were tangled.

“Met by friendly, courteous doorman, etc. Front desk worker welcomed me and was especially helpful. Room was very clean and neat. Close - walking distance - to alternative restaurants.”

• Nice location, close to shopping & Newport Beach.
• $15 self parking fee.

“Nice clean hotel in a nice area. Have use of tennis courts/basketball court. Pool was only average. Self parking was too expensive $15/day. Hotel buffet was too expensive, but plenty of restaurants within a few miles.”

• Comfortable bed. Nice toiletries. Good coffee in room.
• Room not very clean- mold and hair. Parking was far from entrance.

“Nice hotel, friendly staff. Rooms need some cosmetic work- grout, fixtures. Also not very clean- mold in shower, hair in sink from previous guest or housekeeper. Bed was very comfortable.”

“We took the kids for one night stay to get out of the house and play in the pool. Including taxes and parking. The staff was very helpful and provided us with a roll away bed and mini fridge (no charge for this by the way) as well as a pool key to use the pool after check out.”

“Just about everything about this hotel was as expected for a 4 star hotel and we enjoyed ourselves, until we tried to sleep for the night. A couple, apparently with a noisy toddler and a crying baby kept us up most of the night. I would have expected the hotel to give them a room that was isolated from other guests to reduce their noise impact.”

• The parking was over priced and not close to the hotel.

“The staff was friendly, unfortunately they gave us a room with two separate beds because they were overbooked and we arrived at 6 pm but it was nice. We didn't experience much of the amenities such as the pool or gym but from what we saw it looked amazing.”

“Great rooms, staff and amenities but there were 6 weddings and several events that we had to walk through to get to the parking site. There was little parking available for guests during these events.”

• It seems hotel staff is very picky.

“I had three rooms for two nights for our visit to Disney Land. When we came back on the second night (after a very hectic day) all our room keys were cancelled and couldn't open the rooms. When we inquire about it, they didn't have any explanation and tried to give different answers. One answer was that the information on the magnetic strip of the keys tend to erase when they keep in your pockets. I never expected such a poor treatment from a place like Hyatt.”

• It was easy to find very good quality it felt like a 4 star hotel.
• The food was wanting, the quantity did not receive adequate amount for the price.

“When we arrived we expected the room to appear fresh and clean. It appeared clean but it also appeared that someone had already used it, with used soap in the bathroom and someone's shoes under the bed. This made us suspect the cleaning staff was amiss or the hotel was short staffed, it wasn't a comfortable feeling. But the hotel staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and made appropriate adjustments.”

• Nice area, proximity to Orange County Airport, proximity to area attractions.
• Bathroom was too small. Parking was too troublesome and costly.

“Good overall hotel to stay at, whether for business or leisure. Only 1 exit away from SNA airport, with free hotel shuttle service. Close to Newport, Laguna, Disney and even San Diego. Lots of places to shop for essentials or for fun. Feels like a resort with the nice pool, tennis court, basketball court, etc. Main complaint: Bathroom way was too small! Only room for 1-2 people in there at once. Very difficult for families to give kids a bath/shower. Also, parking inconvenient and costs $12-$16. Would love to stay again, but may reconsider due to the above listed complaints.”

• The staff was very good.
• The beds were not pillow top like I would expect for a 4-star hotel.

“I have stayed in other 4-star hotels and even some 3-star, they had pillow top beds that were very comfortable to sleep in. This hotel did not have that. The exercise facilities were exceptional. They had everything a full, private gym has, it was excellent. I just with the beds in the rooms were more comfortable.”

• Bathrooms are very small and crowded. Pool is boring, but ok.

“This is a great hotel for business travel, less for kids. Very little in the way of casual dining, but there is a nice bar. Very convenient to the 405 freeway, very clean and well maintained. Its not quite deluxe, but its like a 3.5 out of 4.”

• The pool is clean, and good size.
• The housekeeping staff missed cleaning the bathroom in the first night. The access card (room key) doesn't work all the times.

• Road noise at the pool. No pool service and big cracks around the door.

“Staff was great. We had room for a roll a way for our 4 year old grand daughter and did just fine. The location was great. We went to New Port Beach, Huntington Beach, Corona Del Mar Beach (all new) and 3 great shopping centers. We had a great time. Don't miss the Irvine Spectrum Shopping and entertainment Center.”

• The newly decorated rooms and size.
• Only had full beds which is bad for 3 or more guests and families. Very disappointed coming from a Hyatt 4 star. Also, Jacuzzi was too small.

“I think this Hyatt is nice but would rate it only 3.5 stars in comparison to other Hyatt's I have had the blessing of staying at before.”
