• Newly refurbished, decor outstanding and exceptionally clean.
• Parking charge.

“This was one of the nicest, cleanest, with large family room and separate bedroom places I have stayed at. Large screen TV in both rooms. Grounds layout, decor in and out excellent. Nice quaint bar that serves the same meals as restaurant was fun and intimate. Great Martinis.”

• Cleanliness, great customer service, quiet, & great breakfast buffet!
• Parking $18/night & wasn't as close to beach as hoped (only 3 miles away though).

“Hotel was lovely, room was beautiful, clean, quiet, & beds were very comfortable. Hotel staff was wonderful. Breakfast buffet was phenomenal, kitchen & waiting staff were fun & friendly. Pool was okay, a 1/2 indoor & 1/2 outdoor pool (Jacuzzi was under a covering) but was right in front of living room of lobby area. Didn't go in pool. Beaches, restaurants, mall, & movie theaters are all within less than 3 miles. Bring your GPS if you have one!”

• Very close to the airport and not too far from the beach. Nice outdoor trail. The fitness center and pool were very clean.
• Not detailed in customer service: wrong type of room, multiple unknown charges on the bill (which were corrected), Parking is expensive.

“Good place for business travelers as it is very near the airport. The beaches are about a 15 minute drive away. If you are looking for a resort-style vacation, this probably isn't the best place to stay.”

• Large rooms with comfortable and stylish furnishings.
• parking fee was $18/day - too pricey.

“It is very clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms are large and I believe they are all suites. Quality furnishings in the living room area and bedroom. The bathroom is well designed. Plenty of room for a family of 4.”

• Forgot to activate my key for parking and I had to go back and have them redo it.

• The fact that it was all suite and breakfast was good.
• The TVs are old. Time to update to flat screen.

“The hotel is an all suite hotel with nice spacious rooms that are very well located. We just stayed one night, but I would stay again if necessary. I found the rooms to be comfortable and clean and the staff to be very helpful.”

• Location was convenient, staff was very nice, rooms were a nice size, liked the suite floor plan.
• The rooms were very dated - they need to be gutted and brought up to date.

“While this hotel served its purpose for my husband and I, I have to say I expected more from a Marriott. The first impression as we entered the hotel was 'wow, this looks pretty nice. Looks like they just renovated'. Then we got upstairs to our room and were disappointed. The outdated decor was just too hard to overlook and overall made my experience less enjoyable.”

• Gift shop not large enough!

“Very nice! Beds and pillows were the most comfortable we have ever used in any of our travels. (Usually bring our own pillows). Breakfast buffet was great! All the staff, from cleaning personnel, bartenders, desk clerks were absolutely the best I have ever encountered. Rooms were very clean! It was a very relaxed trip and will highly recommend this Marriott to all. We could not have asked for a better "getaway" place. I am only sorry that we were not there longer. Spacious Hallways, for people like me that carry lots of luggage. We slept very well, we could have not asked for any more.”

• Fabulous staff. First rate all the way.
• Pay for daily for the internet and $15.00 a day for parking.

“Great hotel. Wonderful staff that was so helpful and friendly. Plenty of towels around the wonderful pool. Lots of places to sit shaded and keep an eye on the kids while they played in the pool/sun. Expect, however, to (over) pay for all amenities like internet and parking.”

• They were sharply dressed, attentive and friendly without fail.
• Lack of a side entry from the parking area.

“Lovely room both quiet, clean and well appointed. I like the location to the walking trail nearby. This hotel is worth the three plus star rating in every way. We enjoyed our stay, but were most impressed with the friendly and professional staff. Note the internet fee of $6 for 20 minutes is a bit much. Also, parking fee of $15 a day must be considered. We will stay here again.”

• The hotel was located in a great place for all the activities we had planned. It was a suite which fit our needs exactly.
• The parking situation was a bit awkward for getting in and out easily.

“The hotel was in a great location for getting around the Newport beach area. The room and hotel in general were excellent for our leisure use including the restaurant, pool and workout facilities. The staff was very attentive to our needs and was always ready to greet us coming or leaving the hotel.”

• Location. Bay view was more like swamp view.

“I really liked the hotel room. Having a separate sitting area and balcony was really nice! We were disappointed about the "bay view" it was like a swamp view. Also having to pay $15 a night for parking was disappointing as well!”

• Nice suite with two distinct spaces. Bed was very comfortable.
• Limited hot water even at 6:30 AM. I was woken up at 3:00AM by some drunken guys who repeatedly knocked on my door. They were not hotel guests.

“Nice suite style room with living room and bedroom areas. Also had bar/mini fridge. The hotel security was not so great since 2 drunken guys woke me up at 3:00 AM with repeated knocks at my door. They were visitors and not hotel guests. With the noise level they were making at that time of night, they should have been escorted off the premises.”

• Loved the beds and the spacious room.
• The food for dinner was overpriced and not very good breakfast was fine though.

“I would come here again. The staff was very friendly and helped us find good restaurants in the area and was to find the beaches. The beds were incredible and the room was very spacious and comfortable. The room also had a separate bath and shower which was good if you have a family that likes both. The only thing we didn't like was the food in the restaurant in the hotel. It wasn't very good and was overpriced. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay.”

• Not enough elevators and the stairs looked like that of a basement!

• The charge for everything internet, water, etc you expect at 4 star those amenities to be included.

“Over all the hotel was great like previously stated. The only down fall is that I felt like they were always trying to squeeze that extra dollar out of me. Charging for internet and $4 for a 20oz bottle of water in the room. I can stay at a choice hotel for cheaper and get free internet and free continental breakfast and they are only 2-3 star hotels.”

• The layout of the room as well as the comfort of the bed.
• Not as close to night life as expected.

“The hotel staff was incredibly helpful. They assisted us in looking for a lost cell phone. They had no problems in re-assigning us a room with a greater view. The room layout was great, made you feel very comfortable and relax. The rooms were exceptionally clean!”

• Great view, convenient location, Natural surroundings, safe and secure, beautiful building inside and out, employees helpful and attractive.
• Shower door exterior in need of cleaning at bottom (pitting, mold?) Suggest they try wd-40); ice maker had no ice.
