• 24-hour service at friendly, helpful front desk.
• Poor sound-proofing for 2-story buildings. Noisy from below!

“Pleasant with well-groomed grounds (lawn, trees, pool), ease of parking near room, convenient location on Huntington Drive across from Santa Anita racetrack and near the 210.”

“This hotel is located in a pleasant, easy to reach location. The rooms are wonderfully decorated and the pool and spa area features a grassy area and large, mature shade trees.”

• We checked in about 11 pm, and the staff was outstanding, friendly!
• Not furnished very nice.

• The rooms were spacious and very clean at the surface.
• The nearby hospital and park prevented me from peaceful sleep.

“I loved the location and the cleanliness of the room. The decor is somewhat outdated and the wallpaper needs replacing. The staff was generally helpful. The continental breakfast was standard, no frills. There were some odd activities going on in the parking lot day and night, however, it did not interfere with my concerns for safety.”

• The room was very spacious.
• The bathroom seemed to have some water damage and the walls were very thin.

“Overall the hotel was nice. The room was larger than I expected and the view out the window was very nice. The continental breakfast could have had a few more healthy choices, but was good all the same. My only complaints would be the water damage in the bathroom and the thinness of the walls.”

“This motel is very out dated. Dirty. Our room was in disrepair. No hot water. A lot of bugs (silverfish). Bedspreads were old, ugly and dirty. Carpet looks like it had not been clean in years. A very uncomfortable stay.”

• Suite has large living room and bedroom. Comfortable mattress. Convenient parking. Small fridge in room.
• No internet access in room.

“Perfect for track goers. Walked across the street to Santa Anita racetrack. Plenty of restaurants (although there were a few chains). Very pleasant stay. If I go back to Santa Anita I will stay at the inn again.”

• The grounds were well maintained and beautiful.
• The weather was hot and the air conditioner in the room did not work well.

“This is a nice older hotel. The room was small, but adequate. The grounds were beautiful and provided a nice setting for the hotel. The hotel is right across the street from the Santa Anita race track and would be a quaint place to stay during racing season.”

• The setting was lovely, the room very nice.
• The access to the hotel parking lot from the street is difficult to find.

“We enjoyed our short stay very much. The views out the big windows were so pleasant. It was very clean and nice. The negative was a fan noise, maybe from the neighboring room leaving their bathroom lights on all night as a night light or the building air conditioner. We'd like to come back.”

• The grounds beautiful and were in great shape.
• The rooms need renovated. Door locks were poor; didn't feel safe.

“We picked this hotel because it was across from the Santa Anita race track and the grounds and lobby of this hotel were nice. The rooms were not. They need renovated, and the locks on the hotel room door and sliding door to balcony weren't secure. Bed was adequate but not particularly comfortable we had a non smoking room, but we could smell smoke and clothes smelled like smoke when we got home.”

• Swimming pool, but it was closed for our entire visit.
• Most of the rooms are rented on a month to month basis, and are run down and dirty, this time we were in a clean one.

“Most guests are actually living in the motel. It would be nice to have one area of the motel only for nightly guests, rather than long term renters. The long term rooms are dirty, old, and need rehab, the entire place needs cleaning! The only good thing is the pool and the pool area, and the location, and the price.”

“I was very disappointed in the fact the this hotel charged me $10 for the use of a cot when I had reserved a room with 2 queen beds but only a room with 1 king was available when I arrived. I feel that the most appropriate resolution to my situation would have been to provide a cot free of charge considering I needed two beds, reserved two beds, but was not given a room with two beds.”

• The utter lack of customer service.

“It was a horrible experience. Despite reserving the room a week and a half in advance and calling twice the day of our arrival to confirm our reservation, the hotel was still overbooked. When we arrived at 12:30am, the front desk staff told us casually that though they had our reservation, they did not had a room for us that night. He was neither courteous nor apologetic, saying instead "There's nothing we can do..." They sent us to a different hotel for the first night, but said we had to return for the 2nd night of our stay. The non-smoking room we were given for the 2nd night smelled of cigarette smoke and the towels had hairs stuck to it. I will never stay at this hotel again, and will encourage everyone to avoid it at all costs.”

• The Jacuzzi is very nice even though works only until 10 PM.
• Very poor breakfast and staff is not helpful.

“This is a good option for the price. It looks like an old hotel lacking maintenance. The "breakfast" needs improvement and you won't get anything if you don't get up very early.”

• Very nice setting, complimentary newspaper and breakfast, price.
• Air conditioner was loud, maid service good some days, not so good others; lack of TV channels.

“This hotel was satisfactory and a good value, considering the prices in California. Room was comfortable. It had very pretty grounds and pool area. I didn't know there was going to be a small breakfast and newspaper included, so that was nice. Staff not very knowledgeable or helpful, but were nice. Some days the room was cleaner than others. Also, the air conditioner vent was quite loud. Hardly any cable channels, pretty much only networks, cnn, and esp.. Overall, though, probably the best hotel value in the area you can find on line You don't feel like you are slumming, even though it wasn't much more expensive than motel 6. There are some older places on the way to Pasadena that are probably cheaper (and probably not as nice), but not to be found on line”

• Location and landscaping A+.
• No heat and staff would not provide portable heater, only blankets.

“Looks very good with the landscaping and the pool is nice with a waterfall, but not very clean, with beer cans, used towels and other debrief around. The hotel is old and it is showing with the lack of upgrades and maintenances This hotel is not a destination but a place you can sleep on very firm beds.”

• Attractive grounds- nice rose garden.
• Thin towels.

“Shabby but clean; lovely grounds but thinnest towels I've ever encountered at a hotel. "Continental Breakfast" consisted of Miniature danish, coffee, and "Sunny-D". Closest restaurant is a Denny's about 5 minutes drive away. The other guests that I encountered all seemed to be either families in extended residence or tourists from China. All-in-all, a nice two-star hotel.”

• I liked it was close to the freeway and a cross the street from Santa Anita Race Track
• It is old and the room are worn could use a lot of remolding

“The hotel was good the grounds and pool are were outstanding but the weather wasn't good enough for us to enjoy. It is across the street from Santa Anita Race track so you can walk to the track. The room was clean but worn. The night we checked in we received a non smoking room but the room smelled like smoker were living there. We were give a suite for the night that was very dumpy. In the morning were give the room we paid for and it smelled fresh. I would prefer a regular room at this hotel as oppose to a suite.”

• The grounds were immaculate and the room very nice.
• They tried to give us a room without a King bed and our reservation said King.

“They did give us a king room, which was good. For an older hotel, the grounds were beautiful, the bed was good and everything worked for a change. Every staff member said welcome to the Santa Anita Inn and to ask if they could be of assistance. Great location for going to the races within walking distance.”

• It was cheap.

“This place is terrible. They lost our confirmed reservation and made us pay for the upgrade to a suite. The room needed repairs and the grounds had trash on them. The people were rude and unhelpful, plus it appears that people actually live in the Inn. Do not stay here.”
