• Comfort of the bed and location to train.
• Pool/spa under renovation and could not be used.

“Not a three star hotel. Room was cozy and the bed comfortable. There was jack hammering going on for the renovations and the noise was irritable and it was impossible to do any work in your room during the day.”

• The exercise facility was very nice and the bed was very comfortable.
• Somehow we were locked out of our room about an hour before check-out.

“We were there for one night and our schedule was such that we were late diners. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly in finding us a late night dining opportunity. The lobby was lovely and the coffee was very good. The bed was very comfortable.”

  was very excited about the hotel that we got, especially for the price. It was one of the niceiest hotels that i've stayed in.
• They stole my friends sweatshirt.

“At breakfast, my friend left his harley davidson sweatshirt at the table. When we discovered that it had been left behind and called to locate it, we rceived several stories about who actually had the sweatshirt. The bottom line is, it was 3 days before Christmas ans one of the employees took it, their was no question that it was found, the question was which of the seberal employees that were seen handling the sweatshirt took it. Management did nothing but hand us a form to fill out.”

• It was very nicely decorated.
• I did not like the fact that I was charged for parking.

“The hotel is in a very convenient area of Long Beach. There were a number of local coffee shops and quaint little restaurants. But what we really enjoyed was the fact that the hotel was very close to shoreline village.

• First room AC did not work.

“Our first night was not the best because AC did not work, hotel staff was very nice in fixing the problem and even gave a free night. The next room was great, staff went out of their way to make sure of our comfort and happiness without us even having to ask!”

• Provided free soap for the laundry.
• One of the dryers didn't work very well.

“Really, overall this is good, but the parking elevator had a smell to it and the garage could use some improvement. They did not charge us for parking, I do not know if this is a permanent change for them or just on certain days.”

• The room smelled odd.

“Last year we got a better deal on the Hyatt in Long Beach using Hotwire. This hotel while adequate was soulless.”

• Inexpensive parking $7, nice rooms with nice mattress.
• No king bed non-smoking rooms available, at least the night I stayed.

“Nice place to stay right off Pine Avenue. Rooms are very nice, new mattresses makes a big difference in sleeping comfort.”

• Right downtown, safe part of Long Beach. Nice and clean.
• Somewhat hard to get to, located on one-way street, expensive parking, lack of office (where to use computer and print).

“The Marriott Courtyard is conveniently located in downtown Long Beach, near lots of restaurants The hotel is very clean and nice and the staff is friendly. There is internet access in each room, but there is not a hotel office area, so if you don't have a laptop, you are out of luck. It is a little bit hard to get to at first as it is located on a one-way street. Parking costs $7 a day to park in their garage, but there are no other options. Its not a luxury hotel, but it is nice and clean and you can't beat the price for the location!”

• Great linens, coffee in lobby in morning ... lots of pillows.
• The parking garage has a pissy smell in the stairwells.

“Great place near the convention center. Not many good places to eat nearby . but there is a nice French restaurant for lunch and a steakhouse in the evenings. Because of the downtown location it has quite a number of street people and lower class places around the area.”

• Location in proximity to where we needed to be.
• They were hosting a large group of rowdy kids who trashed the hotel, including our room, during our stay.

“The hotel was dirty and looked like one of the currently branded Sheratons that used to be Holiday Inns. What a dive! They were hosting a large group of rowdy, gang member-type African Americans who roamed the hallways all night on our floor banging on each other's doors and when we opened our door in the morning, we found our key slot on the door had been covered in chocolate icing! What a way to cap off our stay. We complained at the front desk and when they would have ordinarily comped something for us, since we were prepaid there was nothing they could do.”

• The room was set up for a business traveler with high-speed, desk, light and outlet.

“This is a great hotel. Everything about the hotel was nice including a spacious bathroom, balcony, and nice comforter on the bed. I would stay there any time.”

• Didn't like the view of the parking lot, domestic disturbance one of the nights which was very noisy!

• The bed was great. Have had same experience at half-dozen other Marriott's.
• Paid parking and location. But I understand why.

“Very nice. Convenient. Clean. Pleasant. No issues with me having my kids. Looked great if I were to travel there on business as well. The beds were especially nice, specifically in comparison to the 2 other hotels (both supposedly higher "quality" than this one) we stayed at on this trip.”

• The price.
• Towels all over the floors like the something was leaking.

“The garage was full when I checked in at 12:30 a.m. but the attendant let me park in a no parking zone where my car was safe, which I really appreciated. Staff was friendly and helpful.”

• Te food was not the best for the prices paid.

• The staff is very friendly and the beds were very comfortable! They have a nice workout room.
• The location is not so nice part of Long beach. The parking is extra charge!

“We have stayed at this hotel twice. We love it and will continue to stay with them if possible. My husband's family lives around this area and we visit often. The staff us awesome, beds are extremely comfortable and they have a nice work out facility.”

• Its clean, close to a lot of affordable restaurants, pretty upscale to me.
• Parking was not free, even for guests.

“The hotel is very clean, the location was superb, with a lot of close by restaurants, stores catering to different budget. We did not have the queen marry view, but the overall experience was great.”

• Exceptional service. Very clean and friendly staff. Microwave and fridge available upon request.
• $7 per night for parking, but it was ok not big deal.

“Courtyard by Marriot on long beach, I had an exceptional experience with them. Room service was great, always provided with clean towel new soap and shampoo. They provided fridge and microwave upon request which really helped me out. The rooms, linens and towels were very clean. Staff and front desk was very friendly.”

“Excellent in general for price. Marriott is usually reliable (unlike Hilton for instance) and this moderate hotel delivered. The wired internet performed at true high speed. The modest pool was warm and relatively secluded. The lobby is dull and not pleasant for sitting and the restaurant offers little but again for the class OK . Biggest disappointment are the water facing rooms. The adjoining building has a loud blowing ventilation system and the rooms themselves are long poorly furnished (i.e. mostly empty) and with inadequate window to space ratio. I found a small room on the pool side far more comfortable and recommend that to solo travelers.”

• Very nicely decorated throughout. Beds and linens very comfortable.
• Noise from hall and other rooms. Charged parking even though I did not use garage.

“Parking should be free for guests. If not free, the hotel should only charge those who actually park in the lot. Further, they could really work on sound proofing doors so that noise from the hall and other rooms is minimized.”

• Marriot does it right, even the economy property was a cut above.
• Limited room service, kitchen and bar closed early.

“Long Beach can be iffy. I found the Courtyard took care to insulate the guest from the elements on the street. The block they were on was nicer than say just two blocks east. I felt very secure at the hotel.”

• The location is great for walking to cafes, restaurants, sights, shops of all types. Very walker convenient.
• There is a lot of traffic on the 710 freeway and many trucks.

“The Courtyard by Marriott in Long Beach was clean, friendly staffed and the room was large enough for me to stay three nights without feeling cooped up. I enjoyed being able to walk to places like Starbuck's and I even found a vegetarian restaurant. I had a good stay.”

• The beach, restaurants/Bars, and attractions are within walking distance of the hotel.
• The parking is not free. $7 per day.

“The hotel was nicely located. Downtown Long Beach is really nice and has a lot of activities. The hotel is clean. The only thing that bothered me was the parking, which was not free...There is a swimming pool with a spa and for those who want to stay fit an exercise room.”
