  • Central location.
  • Daily parking cost of $30.

“ Great location right downtown LA. Close to entertainment, shops, restaurants and freeways. Easy access to hotel and although close to freeway no noise was heard in the room. Staff is very friendly and helpful at arrival and during the stay. ”

  • The staff, from the front desk to the parking valets were effecient and friendly.
  • Restaurant food was average and very small portions.

“I was very pleased overall with the convenience, location and comfort of the room. The staf were all very curtious and fast. I especially liked the fact that I could call ahead and have my car ready the morning I checked out. It was waiting for me when I got downstairs so I did not have to wait in line.”

  • The lobby was very open and beautiful with refreshments.
  • Poor parking and $30.00 valet a night.

“The hotel is located in downtown Los Angeles. Unless you park with their valet at $30.00 a night, you must run to meters. Lucky for us, we are hikers and a little distance doesn't bother us. We walked about a half a mile or more and found free parking on a side street. That made us feel good but we were cold as it was late at night when we got home. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very professional. There were little salt water taffy's on the the desk to nibble and fresh pink grapefruit water to refresh yourself with. They just didn't have a single trash can around to throw anything away in. The rooms were conveniently located off the elevators, no long walks down long hallways. The rooms were not terribly large but comfortable. I wasn't happy that we each only got 1 towel to bathe and 1 towel as a hand towel. The bathroom was fine except it didn't have a fan for the heat from the shower. Other than those minor details, it was a lovely stay. We were pretty much in and out of there. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The TV was old style in the big cabinet. We didn't eat there but chose instead to go into one of the neighborhoods. We were pleased but would probably not return due to the parking situation.”

“The hotel is a large Marriott in downtown Los Angeles. It is well suited to the business traveler. The hotel personel are very helpful and friendly and the room was large, clean and had a good view.”

  • I did not like that they don't offer parking.

“Hotel, room, staff was great. Enjoyed the stay. Right in city. Only thing was that valet parking is the only parking offered and at 30/day isn't very conducive for anyone. If they had better parking options it would have been perfect.”

  • Work out gym was very good.
  • We did not like the $30 required valet parking fee that was added on to our bill.

“Older hotel but kept up nicely. I called the Marriot hotel line to confirm we'd get a pillow top bed. I have a back problem and the extra cushion makes a difference in the quality of sleep I get. The lady on the line informed us there would be one available at our hotel.. When we got to the hotel we were informed that there were no pillow topped beds available. That was a bit frustrating. The staff was polite and professional.”

“Typical Marriott chain hotel. Room was clean though dated. Bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. Front desk was welcoming and allowed us to check in early as well as choose a double bed room. Room service is not available 24/7 and it ends at 11pm.”

  • Great service, friendly staff. Comfortable room.
  • Decor in room/bathroom seemed worn and cold.

“Great location and great service. Friendly professional staff makes up for slightly worn and dull room. Room temperature was good for me, and I enjoyed the view of the city. I would stay at this hotel again. I hesitated to use the pool because it was situated in full view of the lobby and dining area, and I felt I'd be swimming in the middle of a power breakfast. Parking cost was a bit high.”

  • The bathroom is big.
  • Pretty far from everything except for banks. The room looks really old!

  • Dated, but extremely well run and clean!

  • Very nice and clean, staff were very friendly and fast service.
  • First night had trouble with noise and security should have removed them due to loud scremo party.

“The staff were very good but the night security should have removed the loud scremo party next door which went on till 3-4 am, however when we spoke with the supervisor she did upgrade us to a very nice room for the last day.
All being said we had an enjoyable experiance other than the first night. The staff were acceptionally fast and friendly.”

“Located in the heart of downtown L.A., the Marriott is easily accessible from several freeways. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. The staff very professional and eager to please. It is completely non smoking, so smokers are banished to the area near the parking cashier. I have stayed here many times and will be happy to in the future.”

  • Clean, spacious and trendy lobby.
  • Required valet parking is less than desirable (too much dependency on the valet staff).

“The Downtown LA Marriott is positioned conveniently near the highway, local downtown restaurants and a short drive from everything Hollywood has to offer. The hotel itself has friendly staff, comfortable rooms that reflect the typical Marriott standards and a spacious lobby that has the luxury expected of the name sake.”

  • It was very comfortable, conveniently located and the beds were excellent.
  • It wasn't the most exciting hotel and there didn't seem to be much going on.

  • Bed & sheets are very nice. Bathroom is in good size and newly remodeled.
  • Odd rooms are facing highway, way too noisy.

“This hotel is about 10 miles south of Universal Studio (15min driving) and at least 30 miles north of Disneyland (it took us 1 hour to get there due to traffic).”

  • The hotel was very well maintained in the public areas.
  • Having to use the service elevators was not fun.

“The hotel was very nice, and the room was typical of Marriott standards. Also, my room had a very nice city view. The only concern I had was that unfortunately, the day the I stayed there, all of the guest elevators were not working properly, so the guests had to use the service elevators, which was slow, very inconvenient and generally not a pleasant experience. Other than that, overall, I enjoyed my stay and would do it again without any hesitation.”

  • Being able to print our boarding passes at the check-out desk.
  • No working fridge. We'd have to pay $10 a day extra for one.

“While overall we enjoyed our stay, there were a few things that annoyed us. The housekeeping lady would not supply us with more than 2 towels or 1 bar of soap, even after a couple of requests before we left for the day. Also not having a working fridge, with a note inside that said they would provide an ice box for an additional $10 per day was ridiculous. The pool was small, and cold (although it said it was a heated pool), and was only 4ft deep all around.”

“My experience may be an isolated incident, but I am really not happy with my accommodation there. Because of the flight, we arrived there around 2am and found there is a blackout. No light, no electricity, no hot water, this blackout is scheduled but we didn't receive any notice in advance. What we get is only one flashlight. Also there is actually no self-parking. No more compensation later.”

  • Friendly and courteous customer service.
  • Car parking with a contractor as a valet parking with outrageous price per day. The parking right across is one third of the price.

“The rooms were clean and turned to be a pleasant stay for the money. However, the hotel needs to find a better valet parking service as its contractor as the valet parking assistants are just rude and not very friendly.”

“I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this hotel. This is my 4th stay in downtown LA but my first at this hotel. I would choose this location over the Westin just across the street; especially with the cost of parking at $16.50 vs. $42 at the Bonaventure. Great open spaces and decor, lovely room.”

  • The bell-boys were excellent.
  • The elevator was slow archaic. And for as nice as the hotel is you only get 1 complimentary bottle of water. I stayed for 3 weeks.

“It's not close to Los Angeles but it's definitely in an area where you can walk to many places. The food is horrible! But bellboys are extremely nice. The work out room is is useful. You'll be in there all by yourself so you can sing out loud!”

  • I think this hotel could afford to comp the parking fees.

“We had an excellent experience. The staff was more than willing to accommodate our request for a room with a view and was also well-versed about the area and able to give good suggestions for walking, dining, etc. Amenities were high quality, and it was quiet as well.”

“Very nice place. Comfortable bed and pillows. Super friendly staff. Downside was charges for every little thing that a cheap motel would have for free, example: $10 fee to turn on fridge in room. There is no self parking, only valet for 16.50. Valet broke the front lip on my car after I told them several times not to park the car downstairs. They tried to cover it up by duck taping the lip back to my car and didn't tell me.”

  • I didn't like anything about this hotel.
  • Room was unbelievably noisy and poorly maintained. Upon check-out the clerk did not ask about my stay.

“Conveniently located and ideal accommodations for the itinerant business traveler. The room interiors badly need to be renovated. Thin walls and noisy halls. The housekeeping staff was inconsiderately noisy with the squeaky wheeled charts.

  • The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was also outstanding.
  • The location was convenient to the freeway but because of its location, it's difficult to get in and out of.

“I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was kept clean and had plenty of towels and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing that I didn't like was that the wireless internet isn't free, in the room or in the business center. Another thing to be prepared for is the difficulty getting in and out of the valet area. The location is convenient but you have to cut across lanes of traffic to get and out of the parking lot. Overall, I was very happy and would definitely stay here again.”
