  • Bed was very comfortable.
  • Decor was really awful.

“I had to pay $30 for parking because the parking lot for the hotel was closed. Had to park across the street -- annoying. Don't know who decorated it, but it was horrible. Everything shut down at 10PM there -- I arrived at 10, tired and hungry with no where to go. Frustrating that nothing at the hotel or nearby was open.”

  • Clean and attractive.
  • Very little hot water one morning. Several others in my group had the same experience.

“Comfortable, upscale hotel. The two issues I had were not enough hot water one morning and that the lobby/bar area downstairs was chilly at night. There are no revolving doors or air curtains to retain the heat on cold days.”

  • Basement lobby shows posters of movies in which hotel starred.
  • Breakfast buffet had unripe fruit and undistinguished pastries.

“Fabulous architecture, self contained shops and inexpensive restaurants within the hotel. Towers distinguished by shape and color, but still easy to get lost. Maps on all towers - just follow the arrows back to your color.”

  • Comfy bed.
  • Cold shower, $34 extra per night for parking, $13 for internet (With my own computer), $8 to print off 1 document.

“We set a budget with the hotel and there were a whole lot of extra charges that were not specified that made us go over budget.”

  • Restaurants all closed hours before their posted hours.

“Pleasant check-in staff, a toilet that was not flushed in my room, many of the restaurants had closed nearly 90 minutes before they were scheduled to, quick overpriced room service. The lobby and decor left much to be desired. Overpriced parking - $32 for overnight guests! An overpriced hotel which I will never be returning too.”

  • The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
  • The room was dirty, the tub wouldn't hold water, not fancy at all.

“Our room was not cleaned properly, a previous guest left their hanger in the bathroom, the wall paper was peeling in the bathroom. It was actually gross! Be advised that parking is $32 a night, not including tip.”

  • American classical architecture.
  • No light in any room was bright enough to read by.

“One of the classic circular tower hotels. Confusing, but interesting. Good views, convenient to all things downtown in LA. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and professional. It is a good business man's hotel. The only thing it really needs is stronger workplace lighting.”

  • The hotel had plenty of amenities.
  • The amenities were sub-par.

“The Westin Bonaventure is a fine hotel for a brief business trip. The basic amenities are suitable for someone exercising, swimming, eating, and shopping in a ulitarian fashion, but not suitable as a luxury or impressive experience. Our two rooms were on the same floor, but on opposite ends of the floor. Both rooms had views of the glass walled elevators, not just views, but nearly close enough to touch. The sound of the elevator could be heard all night and day. As the hotel seems to be a popular stop for the locals, the elevators were in high use for the bars, restaurants, and numerous wedding parties. Again, it was a fine hotel.”

  • Valet! It took too long to pick up and drop off the car.

“Overall, cannot complain for the price we paid for the hotel. However, would not pay regular rate stated. But for a 4-star hotel, would've expected more from the hotel in regards to service and facilities.”

  • Cool hotel has been in a number of movies and commercials.
  • The expense of downtown parking.

“I had requested a 3 1/2 star hotel and the quality of the room was very bare minimum the mini bar had a list on it but nothing in it . the carpets were worn, the lighting was very poor . I ate in the Brewing Co at the hotel the service was substandard. The waiters ignored a couple that sat near me and never went over to their table at all. They finally got up and left. The food was blah and boring with no creativity as well as over priced. The valet seemed to keep loosing my car to the point that it took 20-30 min to get my car several times that I parked there.”

  • the exterior elevators were fun for the kids (32 floors)
  • The hotel has a huge footprint. Too big. I got lost several times.

“The hotel is massive in scope and size. The room is well appointed, nice linens etc. Hot water on command which was impressive considering the size of the hotel. Parking is $45 a night, the neighborhood is downtown but felt secure at night. we walked to the Modern Art museum which was nice. overall a good experience, but not really a place for families.”

  • The location and the pool was nice.
  • EVERYTHING!

“The first room they put us in had cigarette holes and a huge iron burn mark in the carpet. The cable did not work, the walls were dingy, the bathtub was moldy. It looked like there had been multiple parties thrown! GROSS! I had to ask for a second room which the manager thought was extremely unreasonable and was very rude about. The second room had been upgraded but it still was not that great. Everyone except one person that we encountered at the hotel must have hated their job because they were all RUDE. Even when we asked the housekeeper to leaave more than two towels she was sooo rude. I would not recomend this hotel. I have had extremely good luck with Priceline except for this hotel.”

  • The lobby and restaurant/lounge was beautiful.
  • The service at the lounge was slow and room was a tad dated.

“The hotel was very nice with almost all of the staff being friendly and helpful. The lobby and lounge was beautiful and made it feel so grand and upscale. The rooms were very nice and comfortable but a bit dated. The view from the lounge was AMAZING. You must go if you stay there. As for the service, some of the worst I have every experience, especially for the level of hotel and prices. The place was only half full too.”

“Hotel is for business travelers differently not family friendly. Parking is outrageous. Hotel is too big and get lost really easy for a 4 star hotel which they say they are the TV was small and had nothing on it. Prices for food was way too high. Who pays $30 for eggs and bacon. “Great Location, Friendly Staff, Incredible Variety of Restaurants, some better then others. Expensive room service/breakfast buffet. The hotel is so huge, it took us 30 minutes to find La prime but once we got there it was worth all the trouble. Incredible food, very expensive (but worth every penny). I would stay here again.”

“If you have to stay in downtown LA, this hotel is fine. It's a little hectic and mall-like in the lobby and shopping areas, the rooms are small but the beds are comfortable westin beds. Very easy to get a cab down to the convention center. The pool isn't great, a little run-down last time I was there.”

  • The exercises facilities were very up to date and complete.
  • Small cramped rooms that were falling into disrepair.

“The Westin Bonaventure is not being maintained at a 4 star (or even a 3 star) level. The room had collected much dust and there was no ventilation to speak of. Especially off-putting were the stains on the comforters and the shower curtain. Since it was small, there was not much room to lounge within the room itself. The bars and restaurants in the lobby seemed lifeless. Since I was expecting a 4 star hotel, I was deeply disappointed.”

  • The customer service was excellent.
  • The rooms are too small, dirty, no fan in the bathroom was miserable.

“The hotel set up makes no sense at all. The rooms are very small and they claim to have renovated the rooms. The carpet was disgusting! The bathroom was pretty gross and there was no fan so that made it miserable after each shower and there were 4 of us in the room so after 4 showers it was a nightmare! The bathroom was way too small and I don't understand how they thought the toilet fit in such a cramped space. The beds are too small to accommodate 2 adults so don't plan on sleeping if you get a room with 2 double beds. There is no food or drink service at the pool are you kidding me? Needless to say our time at the pool was limited. The valet service was way too expensive $32 a day is crazy. To sum it up we will never stay at the Westin Bonaventure again!”
