“The rooms were very typical for any Marriott Hotel, certainly not up to par with other 4 star hotels; however the rooms were clean, and the location is perfect for LA. The service also can't be beat.”

• Location.
• The parking charge, the charge for internet in business center.

“This hotel met the rating of 4 star as advertised. Check-in and bell staff prompt and courteous. Room was clean and it was quiet overnight. There was a business center but a charge to use the computers for internet. The location for those wanting to visit the strip and its many touristy things was spectacular.”

• The location and view were perfect.
• The windows were dirty, which obstruct the nice view.

“We were greeted at the door and asked our name by a gentleman who then told our name to the front desk person. She immediately forgot it. Oh well. The lobby was nice, as was the room. Great amenities I pod docking station. The location was great - right next to Kodak Theater and mall with restaurants.”

• Cold water in the pool (at night) and expensive parking.

“It was a nice hotel. We would stay there again. I wish the pool was warmer. Our kids only had a chance to swim at night due to sight-seeing. They were able to swim for 5 minutes only.”

“Nice location. Clean. Good staff. Parking is expensive ($29 for valet with in/out privileges or up to $10/shot for self-parking with no in/out privileges). Still a nice hotel. Learn about shuttles, Metro and where to walk to. Also combine trips when you leave the hotel. Otherwise, pretty nice.”

“The staff was friendly and very prompt when their assistance was needed. The room was very nice with a great view. I would love to come back and stay at this hotel every time I visit LA. The food was great and the location was awesome, we were right in the middle of everything. I'll definitely be back soon!”

• Great location, great staff, clean and roomy.
• The fridge was stocked and automated to bill if something was moved. Would prefer one for personal items.

“Great location, helpful and friendly staff. Iced water flavored with citrus fruit in lobby was a nice touch. Rooms/bathrooms were very clean (most important feature) and very roomy. Great view. Only negative - the fridge was not usable for personal items. It was stocked - but only for hotel-priced drinks. Any movement of items would be billed. Otherwise, it was a great, convenient place.”

• Location relative to Hollywood.
• That there was no free WiFi available.

“If you want to be in the heart of Hollywood, this is a great choice. The rooms are well appointed, they could use free WiFi though, the fitness club is a little lacking but there is a new one under construction. The spa in the hotel, Luce Spa, is very nice. I would stay again.”

• The hotel was Immaculate, the view spectacular. The best.
• I didnt like having to leave.

“What a romantic setting, very close to the music venue, only. 5 miles away. The entrance was grand and inviting. The staff was gracious and then we got into the room. We were knocked off our socks even before we opened the shade to take in the amazing view of downtown Hollywood. This place is my new favorite.”

• Rooms were very nice and free M&M's and fruit water in lobby a nice touch. Friendly staff.
• Self-parking a little bit of a hike to hotel.

“Nice room in a very convenient location. Self-parking underground garage next door slightly awkward Had to schlep our luggage through the parking lot, through the Hollywood and Highlands mall area, and in to the hotel, unless you wanted to valet park in which you could pull in front of the hotel and unload. Free M&M's and fruit infused water in lobby a nice touch. Front desk staff friendly, efficient, and helpful. The king room was quiet, updated, modern, included a mini-fridge, choice of pillows, wonderful amenities. Our room offered a view of Capitol Records and the Hollywood sign. Hotel is contained within the Hollywood and Highland entertainment complex which includes the Kodak Theater, Grumman's Chinese Theater, shops and restaurants. Walk of Fame literally around the corner.”

“This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Hollywood, right next to the Hollywood highland, Kodak Theatre and Chinese Theatre. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My partner and I were given a 2 single-bed room and when we requested to change to a king size bed, the staff was very helpful and efficiently upgraded us to another room. The room is quite spacious (depending on which type of room), it's modern and has all necessary facilities. It's quiet, it has air conditioning. The bed is very comfortable. Our stay in this hotel is perfect but if I need to criticize would be the old style shower with shower head above the bath tub. I would imagine a modern hotel would have a modern style shower. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• 30 valet parking.

“This was definitely not a 4 star hotel, it was listed in the same category as the Mandarin and we were definitely disappointed. The pool was being renovated so we couldn't use that.”

“Tiny gym. Nice pool but unable to enjoy it due to massive spa construction. Construction noise unbearable in room. Minibar not stocked and yet no room for personal items. 30-a-day valet parking. Slow check-in. Check-out service on TV not working. Lots of conventions. Not restful or relaxing.”

• Old, outdated, ugly furnishings, windows don't open, thin walls - too loud.

“This is not a 4 star hotel. Despite being recently built, the furnishings were old, ugly, and outdated. The walls are paper thin and you can hear people in the rooms next to you, even when they're talking softly. The windows don't open and it's stuffy. I would not recommend this hotel.”

“Our stay at the hotel was one of the places I ever stayed. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our check out time was at 11:30 am and they kept our luggage for us while we waited for our shuttle to come get us at 9 pm.”

“This hotel is ideally situated for Hollywood Blvd. and many of the main Hollywood sites. It is a very contemporary hotel which makes it seem very light and airy. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel expect for the cleanliness of the rooms which let it down badly. In my room the trash can still had rubbish from the previous occupant and when I went to use the coffee maker it still contained the coffee and filter from the last person as well, gross! After this I started to question everything including whether the bed had actually been changed.”

• The Valet Stole my iPod from my car.

“I left my car in the Valet of the hotel, and did not pick it up till the next morning. When I picked up the car my iPod was missing from the center console. The staff was not helpful, and did not seem to care. It has been 5 days now and I am still waiting for a call from the manager. Would stay in the hotel again just not valet my car!”

• TV was too small.

“As close to luxury as you can get and look down on Hollywood. The staff is friendly. Only the guests have that "LA-Skinny Uppity" attitudes. I'd stay here a hundred times over rather than pay more for a Beverly Hills "nostrils in the air" art-deco place to the west. Nice rooms, albeit small. Nice view. And ask for the $40 upgrade. It gets you a decent room with a nice bed cover and breakfast and snacks in the evening on the 19th floor. A Hop, Skip and a Jump to the famous walk of stars and the Chinese Theater.”

• Location, location great spot for a Hollywood hotel.
• Traffic around the area could be deadly at times.

“I would stay at this hotel again if I were to come to the Beverly hills/ Hollywood area again. The hotel is well kept, clean. Convenient shopping, food is attached to the property. Lots of sights to be seen within walking distance. A few minutes drive from Universal studios as well.”
