- I liked the friendliness of the front desk staff.
- I did not like the view from the room.
“The Westin LAX was what I would expect of a luxury hotel at the airport. Our check-in was smooth and efficient even with a rush from a cancelled flight. We were put on the 12th floor, which is their club level. This gets you nothing more than coffee and access to the business lounge. The room was clean and attractive, though I missed the noise machine and earplugs that another nearby hotel offered. Our room overlooked the runway where airlines were lining up to take off. It was far enough away to be able to sleep soundly, but close enough to watch. We were able to walk to a Denny's across the street to have a cheaper breakfast than what the restaurant was offering. All in all, I would have been just as happy at any of these hotels, but the Westin was just fine.”

- Not a whole lot, the desk personnel gave the aura of arrogance and the hotel's actual performance was poor; operating on the name not service.
“This hotel is serving on the Westin name. He lobby is nice; the rooms are shabby; the accessories are cheap (plastic cups are not a part of a 4 star rating.) There was almost nothing but the lobby to recommend this hotel as 4 star.”

- Valet parking was $26 per night. DSL was $10 per day. Restaurant was mediocre.

- Bed was out of this world comfortable.
- Room was a bit outdated, but great still.
“Great location in proximity to LAX. Shuttle runs free, 24 hours a day, every 15 minutes to and from the airport. Staff was excellent on check in, very friendly and helpful. Room was large, very quiet and clean. Bed was soft and out of this world. Fridge was stocked with snacks and drinks (but they were pretty spendy).”

- It was clean, close to airport and met my basic needs.
- It did not provide free wireless access so for a corporate traveler to not have wireless in the room was a handicap.

- I didn't like anything about the Westin Hotel in Los Angeles again the hotel has rats.
- The Westin has Rats!
“Again I was not happy with the Westin Hotel it has rats and I had to request for the sheets to be cleaned. And not only that we are doing the hotel a favor by staying there 15.00 a day to park is highway robbery!”

- The lobby and bar area are beautiful.
- Bathroom door had to be propped open with a towel. Screaming teens in the hallway late at night.

- The hotel was upscale, and the staff very friendly.
- Some sort of convention taking place with smokers hanging around outside the hotel.
“The hotel was close to LAX, which was very convenient. We were also able top drop off our Enterprise car rental at the hotel, which turned out to be a real bonus. The room was clean; the staff very friendly; and it definitely met my expectations.”

- Size of the handicapped room and the convenience and layout.
- Mini bar is extremely sensitive to touch or bumping.
“Great handicapped accommodations especially for persons needing wheelchair accessibility. The room and the bathroom were the most spacious I have encountered. My wife and I traveled with two young adult children and everyone was very comfortable. It was actually like being at home. Very clean and well appointed. Staff very friendly and responsive. I would definitely stay again.”

- Convenient location for our outings to Hollywood, Santa Monica, and downtown.
- $17 per day parking, no free internet (really, how much could it cost them?), and not quite up to Westin standards.
“The Westin LAX hotel seems to be viewed as a one night stay for airport travelers, but we found it to be very convenient for our family's 3 day LA visit. Getting to anything in LA is a nightmare, but we found we could reach the beaches, Dodger stadium, Hollywood, and LaBrea quite easily from here with easy highway access. Get a good enough rate, and the forced daily $17 parking garage charge is tolerable. (There really is nowhere else cheaper and safer to park). Overall, we could not have done better!”

- The heavenly bed and shower are terrific.
- The last two days of our vacation the hotel was undergoing very loud construction. The rooms need a microwave.

The staff was helpful and very accommodating, we missed our flight and arrived to the hotel after 8 p.m. The location is very convenient to the airport (and we didn't hear one plane). - Smallish double room, TV did not work well.
“We (2 women -myself & a girlfriend) were initially sent to a room that was occupied, then to a 'workout' room (with treadmill, weights etc.) with only one bed. The third room was acceptable (had 2 dbl beds), though somewhat small for 2 adults. Room service food was pretty good. Wake-up call was on time, but airport shuttle, promised every 20 minutes, did not arrive on time and we were forced to take a cab to airport.”

- My room was not made up upon arrival-staff not helpful.
“Beautiful public spaces, but my room was unmade upon opening the door. They requested that I haul my bags back to the front desk to pick up a new key for another room (ten min walk with slow elevators). After I explained that I'd flown 1/2 way around the world that day they reluctantly agreed to meet me at the new room with a key. I waited in the hall for about 40 min for the bellman. The initial greeting at the front desk was fine - but service tanked after that.”

- The mini bar has a sensor. If you move something you are immediately charged a restocking fee of $25, even if you do not eat anything.

- I enjoy the Westin Heavenly bed.
- I typically dont like hotels that charge for parking.
“The hotel was a standard Westin hotel with the heavenly bed, which is the primary benefit of the Westin chain. However, these upscale chains charge for services included for free at other good quality chains such as parking and internet. Charging for these amenities reduces the value and overall quality of the hotel.”

- Awful TV cable outrageous and parking fees.
“Most 1 start motels have more channels than this particular Westin. The TV was old and very outdated for it's class. Parking fees border on criminal. My entire stay lasted less than 4 hours yet my parking fee was between $17-26 depending on if I wanted to get the car myself in the parking deck or have a valet get it. The self serve machine tried off by charging $20 instead of $17 for some reason.”

- Common spaces were beautiful and luxurious in the places where people gather; but it's just plain hotel in the elevators, halls, and rooms.
- My room must have been one of their worst-stains, mold, and broken showerhead. The bed was nice, but the rest of the experience was disappointing.
“Convenient to airport but in busy, ugly neighborhood, this Westin falls short of their brand. The room provided was disappointingly shabby-dings in the wall, chips in the tile, broken showerhead, visibly moldy air conditioning. The common areas are gorgeous and luxurious, but not all the rooms are.”

- My room was at the end of the hall above an external dog kennel. Barking all night. When I told the front desk they did offer a compliment. Breakfast.
“Hotel is in a great location for LAX travel. Rooms were a little worn - expected for an airport location hotel. My issue was that there is a kennel below one side of the hotel. They staff was very polite and apologetic in morning and offered complimentary breakfast buffet. Needless to say it was a long night! (I was not going to repack and get dressed to switch rooms in the middle of the night).”

“Rooms are nice, watch out for the noise. Have been here twice and both times woke up to constant dog barking. I think it backs to the dog pound. - Excellent customer service, very clean, very prompt, looks elegant, would love to come back.
- I called the hotel to add someone to my reservation & they did not update their system which caused problems but I was compensated accordingly.

- It was close to the airport - and on a major street with easy access.
- Because it was close to the airport, there was airplane noise.

- The hotel lobby.
- Lounge chair in room was old and worn.
“Sounded like dog kennels were in back of the hotel during mornings. Lots of dogs barking. Rooms were not usually done until late afternoon.”

- Located close to airport, nice big room with plenty of desk space.
- Service at the bar too long. It was that they were too busy, could not multi task.
