“When I checked in the hotel was unable to give me a non-smoking room. The 4th floor (smoking) did smell pretty bad overall, and my room was a bit stuffy but livable. In addition to the stuffiness, I found the room fell short of what I would expect. A lack of electrical outlets at the desk (annoying), and a generally worn/shoddy feel to the bathroom was a disappointment.”

  • Needed to leave with mold coming out of shower vent.

“Stay away. Hotel is a health hazard. Tried to use the shower but it was contaminated with dirt and fungus (aspergillus fumigates). I am very concerned about the safety of people staying in this hotel until it is completely overhauled. Do not be fooled by the pretty wrapping. Staying here is a safety issue.”

“The hotel was very comfortable and we felt very safe both inside and when we were outside the facility. The entire staff was very accommodating and made every effort to make our stay comfortable. We were there for 11 nights for medical reasons and would return again.”

“We really enjoyed everything about the Sheraton gateway - from its convenient location at the mouth of the airport, to its great restaurants and friendly staff, and to the most comfortable bed ever. Our stay in loss angels was made better because the Sheraton provided an extra special home-away-from-home.”

  • Parking is a little bit hassle.

“It is very close to the LAX make it ideal to catch a very early flight. Rooms are large and clean and the environment are good after remodeling. The insulation was very good that air traffic noise was largely muted. Fun to watch the airplane landing too.”

“Very nice hotel right beside LAX airport. Upscale, but I would not rate it 4 star - more like 3 or 3.5.A great place for business travelers to stay. Since it is primarily a business hotel, the weekend pricing can be quite reasonable. Parking is not great - you have to park behind the building in a very busy lot full of long term airport parking. Parking is expensive at $13 per day. But at least the parking area seems safe. Also, do not miss the turn off to the parking area or you will be stuck having to go through the airport departure area - a very busy and confusing place to be.”

  • Convenient location, near lax, rental car center, and highway 105.
  • Interior deco is modern and trendy but lack of a touch of elegance. Not much dining options, food rather pricy compare to the quality.

“This hotel was better than I expected based on other reviews. We wanted a room close to the airport and this definitely fit the bill. I think we could have walked to the airport. Surprisingly the room was quiet; with little noise from the planes. Overall I was pleased with one major exception. I asked and received a nonsmoking room. However, the bathroom reeked of smoke. As a result, the entire room smelled of smoke and it really was unpleasant.”

  • I loved that it was centrally located to where we were going, and so close to the airport, we could have walked there!
  • There was not anything that I didn't like about it.

  • Not 4 star at all. Extremely disappointed! Worst stay ever!

“The hotel was in major need of renovation. The bathroom was horrible with stains on the wall, old tile flooring, plumbing not hidden and paint peeling from tub. The carpet in the room was dirty and stained and air conditioning didn't work. Furniture was beat up and worst of all, the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. I have used it ten times or more and am not sure I will again after this horrible experience. The star rating needs to be changed on this hotel. Misleading to say the least. The three star Marriott was much nicer and cleaner. The Sheraton should be 2 1/2 stars at best. Some motel 6's might rank better than this one.”

  • Name branding at fair price, safety because of staffing and security.
  • Seemed less than 4 star by furnishings and the 'extras' being charged for (i.e. phone, parking, computer access, etc).

“I felt comfortable getting booked at this hotel before I ever saw it because of having stayed at this chain before. I knew that even in a 'bad area' we would be 'safe' for our time there. The rooms were clean, the staff was extremely competent and courteous. I would have thought that something as basic as internet access, parking for our rental car, and local phone calls would have been included in anybody's bill, but they were not.”

“Not a 3.5 or 4 star due to inconvenient off site self parking and poorly lit walking path to hotel. Access card needed to use elevator gives the hotel a feeling of insecurity and inconvenient for guests. Rating should be dropped to a 3. 3.5 And 4 are absurd.”

  • Concierge service not available or inaccurate with directions, am room service unreliable and camped one morning because lost in the system.

  • Our waiter at breakfast was great.
  • Called room service for bottle opener and she said it would take 30 minutes!

“Very good overall. Felt the quote for a wine opener of 30 minutes was silly. Our breakfast waiter - great. Overall staff was friendly. Staff on phones seemed green. Talked very loud! Especially after one lady could tell she woke me up. She said "oh I¿m sorry. But xyz" in a very loud voice.”

  • They charged for internet, that did not work properly for the first day.

“I was expecting this to be a very nice hotel, but was greatly let down. They charged for internet, the hallways and common spaces were nice, but nothing too great. I ordered room service, and had the Shula Steak. I could have went to apple bees and received a steak with more flavor. It has a work out place, pool, and hot tub. But you have to access it through the bar area. That is just what I want to do, walk through a bar full of people soaking wet to get back to my room.”

“The location is perfect if you have an early flight out of LAX. The complimentary hotel shuttle service will get you to LAX in less than 5 min. However, it was surprising to me that there is no mini-bar or safe in the room for this so called deluxe hotel.”
