• Excellent staff, good location, comfortable room.
• Plumbing in bathroom needs serious work, the tub was constantly plugged! Bathroom needs rehab!

“Friendly staff! Food and drinks are good. The lounge areas are comfortable. Rooms are nice and hooked up for computers. Location is good. This hotel is showing it's age in respect to the plumbing and the elevators (they are replacing the elevators this week).”

• The parking was terribly set up and expensive!

“Hotel location was great. Right by airport. Not happy at all about the parking situation. Will probably deter me from staying there ever again. Seriously needed to take a shuttle to get from your car to the hotel! Ridiculous! And charged $40, not happy. Should have a parking garage or something!”

“Not a four star. More like a three. The bathroom was small. Had to maneuver around and shut the door to use the toilet. Bathtub was small and cracked all over and did not drain. Counters and floors were very old and worn looking. Room decor was awful. Colors were red, black, grey, and navy. Very cold feel to the room and hotel in general. Not a warm, relaxing or inviting feel. Also, the windows in our room were so dirty you could barely see out of them.”

• Beautiful hotel.
• Plumbing problems each day of stay. Room service could cook well done steak.

“I love the location and look of this hotel. Sadly, we had a leaking commode three of the four days there. Also, our tub wouldn't drain the first day. We kept having to call the front desk for them to send someone up to fix it. They offer to relocate us but it would be on the airport side of the hotel and warned us about the noise. They were nice but I couldn't help but get upset. I was traveling alone with two kids. The hotel breakfast downstairs ($14) was great. Room service not so good. Took along time to get food and my steak was rare when I ordered well done. Nice hotel for business travels, but not sure if I would stay again with the kids.”

• Air condition awesome, large bedroom, very comfortable.
• Lighting isn't very good. Too dark. Walls are little thin.

“It's one of the better stays I've had. The beds were big and comfy. The rooms had strong AC. I like it when my room is cold. It was clean and pretty decent for the price. And it was close to the airport. Overall, good job.”

• No coffee condiments, ugly bathroom.

“How can you make coffee on a glass top computer desk, to fry your computer? The glass top makes your mouse not work and flash -really the days of charging for internet are so over guys. If you have business travelers, they are fairly bright. Room service was great, bed was great, decor was pretty but coffee and internet are crucial. So glad. Renaissance has way more to offer for the price. Even Hacienda has its own charm. Hyatt place rules on complimentary hi tech comforts.”

“It had a very nice view of the Neon Towers, off the main street, leading to the airport. The decor was sleek and tasteful. I ordered room service and movies and was very pleased with the ease of ordering the movie and the quality of the food. The staff was excellent! Charming and professional.”

• Building exterior could still use some renovation.

“The hotel does qualify as a 4 - star, although I understand the poorer reviews. The hotel has gone to the effort to have upgraded furniture in the halls and rooms. Room service quality was very good. Staff, including cleaning staff, were very friendly. The bathtub was probably not replaced with the 2005 renovation, but it was not awful, just showed normal wear. Some rust stains were evident on the exterior, so the building's exterior did not look new. The room was very quiet, I only heard 2-3 planes in the distance, even though LAX was next door. Air/Heat worked great in the room. Good hotel for business travel.”

“This was an excellent value for the price. Public area are spare and dark. The room floor hallways were dreary and shabby. My view form the room was an expansive roof. But this met all of my needs and for an airport location the room was very quiet.”

• The shower did not work at all.

“I would never recommend this hotel. The shower did not work at all. The bath tub water trickled out to make matters worse. The pin on the shower release was stuck. When I complained to the front desk the employee said, well didn't you check the shower to see if it worked when you checked into the room. I said, no should I? He said, yes. I said, so I should always check the shower, bathtub, sink, toilet, alarm clock, bed comfort, proper lighting, TV and clean room when I enter a room. He said, yes. I said, that is not my job that is the hotel job to provide a functional working hotel room. I will never return there with that type of service.”

“This is a wonderful hotel with friendly, helpful staffing. The room was very comfortable and quiet. My only objection was the high fee for parking. Self park is available off site and down a rather dark alley.”

• Card key to room did not work and took 1 hour to fix.

“Excellent choice among the LAX airport hotels - closest to the airport, good shuttle service and excellent accommodations. Unfortunately, the electronic key to my room wouldn't work and after 3 trips to the front desk for a reprogrammed key that also didn't work, they finally had to get security to open the room and move me to a new room. Well handled by the staff but a very frustrating experience.”

• I liked the lobby and meeting space. I also liked the free airline check in.
• Restaurant needs an upgrade.

“This is a classic LAX business hotel. The facility is older, but has very clean rooms, free Wi-Fi and free airport check in/shuttle. The staff are professional. The common area amenities are nice. The only drawback is the restaurant is below what you would expect at a 4 star hotel.”

• Not clean and needs to be renovated and does not offer free internet access.

“This definitely was not a 4 star hotel. The bedspread on one of the beds was very dirty (not sure what was on it and don't think I want to know). The bathtub was horrible. It had mildew and patched spots all over. The tub did not drain and countertop was dirty. The carpet throughout looked black and dirty not sure if it was just stained or actually dirty. Everything looked like it came from Goodwill.”

• Room was very comfortable, Bed was excellent! Insulate the ceiling as I could hear children running up and down the hall.
• Parking was horrible, probably the worst I have experienced!

“Parking was a block away and $13.00 or I could have paid $25.00 for valet service. Luckily it wasn't raining as I would have had to walk to the hotel in the rain. My date and I returned to the hotel late at night and did not feel safe walking back to the hotel from parking lot, and if it was raining we would have been soaked. If you don't have a garage, a shuttle should be provided.”

• Close to airport. Good workout and pool facilities. Decent restaurants in hotel.
• Bathtub needed repair. Some of the finish had come off by the drain. Bed coverlet had a white streak of something on it and made me squeamish.

“A little more attention to cleanliness and this would be my favorite choice for flying into and out of LAX. Nice staff and all the amenities within a few steps of each other. Note worthy in that you can order a drink by the pool since it is only a step from the bar.”

• The decor is modern and clean.
• Certain areas of the hotel were dirty and smelly.

“In our bathroom, the toilet bowl and seat had remnants of a fecal explosion. The bathtub had drainage problems. It doesn't feel clean when one has to wade in dirty bathwater during a shower. This is the second time I've stayed here, and the bathtub had drainage problems then too. Starbucks downstairs was nice but the dining area is always dirty. They ran out of Sugar in the Raw. The bar looks nice, but the seats are so soft that upon sitting down, the table comes up to your neck. Not a comfortable nor a romantic way to dine.”

• The beds and pillows were really nice.
• The TV sets are horrible, I've had better in 2.5star hotels.

“Great hotel if you are aren't planning on using the room for relaxing and enjoying a movie/TV at night. Other than the horrible 10y/o television. The room was great and the wireless signal for the internet was top notch (I know the company that installed the wireless, so that opinion is bias, but true).”
