  • The hotel has been freshly renovated.
  • Unfortunately, the room I was in had ants in it. Housekeeping was not quick to respond.

“The hotel is freshly renovated and has all the amenities one would expect in a 4 star hotel. It is conveniently located to Rodeo shopping, WeHo bars, Westwood shopping, LA museums, and Santa Monica beaches.”

  • I had chosen Beverly Hills as my location. This hotel was in Century City.

“It was nice and comfortable. The staff didn't seem super outgoing, but were friendly enough. The pools were nice and I liked that they had several for children. Overall, very happy.”

  • Poor service, bugs, parking problems.

“We were greeted by 3 bellman, who all told us to keep waiting and they will get back to us, as we were standing in front of our car with suitcases. Our request was a king for 4 people and we courteously waiting from 3pm till 7 pm to get a double room. This room was then equipped with 3 towels for 4 people and we waited from 10 pm until the next morning to get more (we got them from the maid outside). Our room was filled with ants and the prior people left items in the safe deposit box where the security guard came 2 times to try to remove them (the prior occupants finally contacted us and came into our private room to remove while we were changing).”

“I have stayed several times and am impressed with the remodel of the hotel rooms and hallways that has been done recently. I like the generous balconies that add additional space to the rooms. The pool is beautiful as are the lobby areas and the staff is warm and welcoming.”

  • The staff at the restaurant is nice.
  • We asked for a room with double beds and got a room with a king-size bed.

“The room was very noisy, and they had to send a technician, who said that he would have to cut the AC in the room for the noise to stop, but that we should get the room for half of the price because the staff in the hotel knew about the problem for this room. The room did not even have a proper bathroom the sink was in the middle of the room, with no door.”

  • Beautiful property, felt safe, helpful staff, good location to Hollywood without being in the crowds.
  • Was surprised at $31.00 daily parking fee. That's excessive and there were no options.

“We would definitely stay here again in the future and hopefully for more than one night. Great pool area. Enjoyed being away from the crowds in Santa Monica and Hollywood, but close enough to both to enjoy. Bed was a little too hard.”

“The hotel itself is upscale, but is overrated for the level of luxury that it actually provides. Our arrival was delayed a day due to circumstances beyond our control (a flight cancellation) and the hotel management would not initially agree compensate us in any way for one missed night. The manager that we dealt with upon arrival (at approx. 3PM on 7-23-08) was arrogant and inflexible about the hotel's policies and was clear that he did not plan on making any exceptions.”

  • Refrigerator sensors, charge for internet in room free if in lobby.

“Refrigerator had every item on sensors. I opened it and a little sandwich fell out and was charged for it until I told them I opened door and it popped out. No room in there for any water bottle or candy bar of your own. They charged for wireless internet if used from room. I went down to lobby and found there was free (for 24 hours) lobby wireless internet.”

  • The sheer curtains in the room lets too much light in. There was no solid curtain behind it.

“I travel extensively and I have to say this hotel staff was one of the most friendly and accommodating I have ever come across. From the maid to the manager, everyone was trying to make sure your stay was everything you wished. When we got charged for something in the mini-bar that we didn't take, the front desk staff apologized for the mistake and changed the bill. No problems, only smiles. I will absolutely be staying at Central Plaza next time I am in the Northern Los Angeles area.”

  • Cleanliness. They responded to my request (for a coffeemaker) very quickly.
  • Guests should know in advance that there is a fee to park the car - $20.00 each time you park or $30.00 daily for valet.

“Overall, I believe that the hotel was quite nice, but it would have been nice if they had changed our sheets instead of putting the same old sheets after just shaking it off. The food was ok, but somewhat pricey for the quality. The valet was very courteous and so was the wait staff. If I was to go back, I may go to this hotel again as it was in an excellent location - close to everything - shopping, restaurants, etc.”

“The $5 glass of orange juice and the $4 cup of coffee were definite low points and signaled to me that the market for the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza is the business traveler with a generous expense account. Otherwise, my stay was a quality experience. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The lobby and room decor were elegant. Computer terminals near the front desk enabled guests to print boarding passes for the next day's flight. If you're counting your pennies, you may want to visit one of the local grocery stores, such as Ralph's on West Olympic Blvd, for breakfast or a snack.”

  • The hotel was elegant but friendly. The room was modern and the bed was very comfortable. Good service.
  • Our original room was occupied by someone, so we were moved quickly. Our bill reflected a lunch we didn't have and a beverage we didn't buy.

“We were mostly pleased with our stay. Our first room was clearly occupied by another traveler, but we were quickly reassigned a room. The room was elegant and the bed was very comfortable. We liked having a balcony too. The only problem we really experienced was being billed for a lunch from the restaurant (we checked in after 6:00 p.m.) and a beverage from the mini bar we didn't have. Eventually, we didn't have to pay for the lunch or the beverage, but it seemed like we were to blame for the error, not the hotel. The other disappointment was the lack of self parking. We had to pay $31 for overnight valet because there was no self parking. It seemed rather unfair.”

“We had a wonderful vacation. We were concerned that the hotel was far from Universal Studios (primary reason for being in L.A.), but it was conveniently close. Very accessible to sights to see in L.A. (Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. Hollywood, Santa Monica, etc.). Loved the hotel & our stay.”

“Stayed there over 4th of July, 2008. e, hotel was well worth it. It was a clean, modern hotel in great location with attentive staff. But parking, Internet, and restaurants were all expensive. The fitness area is run by the Equinox Health Spa and was well worth $20. if you took advantage of the gym, exercise facilities and all the deluxe spa facilities. If you didn't have time for all that, you might resent paying $20 to exercise. But there are good running routes nearby.”
