• Clean, new, sleek.
• The sheets, towels, facial and bathroom issues. Pool area was boring, too many kids, not enough hot tub.

“Overall, it's a nice hotel because it's new and clean and the staff was helpful. There's a Starbucks and a little shop for toiletries if you need them. However, the pool area was mostly concrete and bland. The hot tub was too small for all the people that were in it. There were way too many kids, some who went into the pool with underwear or t-shirts and kids should not be in the hot tub. the most annoying part of the stay was that they don't use fitted sheets so the lower sheet kept moving and bunching up. The sheets felt like sandpaper and so did the towels. They also use super-cheap facial tissue and toilet paper-also like sandpaper. Oh, and you can hear the wedding music every weekend. Overall, it's a nice place but maybe 3.5 stars.”

“Hyatt Regency was fabulous. Our room and view were impeccable and luxurious. I loved going downstairs for drinks. We had hoped to have sushi at the hotel, but unfortunately the sushi bar is closed on weekends; just a heads up.”

• The hotel staff was all very helpful and courteous.
• Noise in the early am between 3:30 am and 5:00 am setting up for a function.

“My husband and I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times now and are always pleased and happy to be there. It is a lovely hotel, service is good and so convenient. It is centrally located and is an easy trip to shop in Beverly Hills, dine in Hollywood, etc. We would definitely stay again.”

“If you're looking for a comfortable, warm and welcoming room, this hotel is the right one. It has many amenities that are quite enjoyable like the pool, the onsite restaurant, bar, Starbucks, and full service Equinox gym, Hertz car rental, plus a whole mall across the street. Bring your own snacks and rent your car at the airport because snacks, beverages and cars are very expensive. For single people, be aware that it's children friendly so the pool will be covered with kids. Very nice hotel.”

• Valet was terrible and overpriced with no option.

“Beautiful hotel, nice room but had silverfish crawl out of my sheet. No coffee pot in room. The biggest disappointment was that we were above the outdoor bar, 8 floors up, and the loud music was played until 3 AM. I called and management said it would be turned down at 11 pm - this was at 11:15. It was really hard to sleep. Location was nice, the valet parking was the most poorly organized ever. The valet employees were very nice, the wait was absolutely terrible, even with call ahead. I missed a dinner reservation one night due to waiting 15 minutes in the parking area for my car.”

• The art/ambiance in the hallway and quality of room furnishings were lovely.
• The in/out self parking is non-existent. The mandatory $31 valet parking was overpriced and unanticipated. Room service: oily, cold and tasteless.

“This hotel has lovely furnishings and a welcoming front desk staff. However, the only parking that allows in and out privileges is the $31 valet parking. There is no flat-rate for self-parking and freedom to leave the premises. This was an unwelcome mandatory. The room service was lacking in taste and warmth. We expected more for the price. The soggy, oily, texture of the sandwich and cold waffle did not please.”

• The room was lovely as was the view from my 14th floor room.
• Room service botched (twice) my dinner order; it was also inedible.

“This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful front desk employees. The view of Downtown LA was incredible from my 14th floor room. The room was very attractive. My only complaint was my room service meal which arrived without the ice water I'd ordered and missing the bacon for my club sandwich and the ice cream on my dessert.”

• The lobby was large and open and nicely decorated.
• The rooms were not 4 star level, and it smelled musty and the shower curtain smelled like mold.

“I was very excited to stay at a 4 star Hyatt hotel but upon arrival was quite disappointed. Although the lobby was really nice and the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were not what I thought to be on a 4 star level. It had a musty smell and the bathroom had a smell of mold. They also got you with the parking charging 31 dollars a day! Or 20 dollars if you park it but walk quite a distance, and then you can only park it and take it out once!”

• Hotel was in a somewhat commercial area.

“Great place to stay if you need a conveniently located hotel in LA for a night or two. On the outside, hotel seems dated, but inside everything seems to be newly refurbished. Good amenities including gym, pool, restaurant, etc. Not particularly romantic, but a good jumping off spot for exploring LA.”

“This hotel is great except that you would expect a hotel of this level to have internet access available. The business center was external and charged ridiculous prices of $5 for 5 minutes of usage. Also, you would expect a hotel of this level to have more than just basic network channels.”

“Conservative & comfortable. I am glad that the hotel did not upgrade the room surrounding to an ultra modern conveniences that will scare or inconvenient a guest. It made me feel that I stayed in home away from home. I like the shape of the building - a guest feels that the area is in a Sea Resort.”

“This was the worst service ever. I checked into the room and the bathroom had a strange smell. I called downstairs and asked for a room change and they put in on hold for 20 minutes 3 times. I finally spoke to someone and they said no and that they were sold out. They were rude and unaccommodating. I will never go back to this hotel.”

• Charged for everything - parking, gym, business center, etc.

“The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. The use of the gym was $20 per person per day because it is a private gym on the grounds of the hotel. The wireless and wired connection did not work in the room and the business center is $5 for 15 minutes on a computer. The parking was expensive and there were no other options and there were no vending machines on any floors that sold water or drinks because they want you to buy what is in the minibar. That being said, most of the staff was extremely friendly, the pool area, restaurants and lobby were beautiful and the rooms were gorgeous. The beds were comfortable and the iPod docking station in the room was definitely a plus.”

• Famous hotel, famous history, love the location. Stayed there many times over the years.
• The room had minimal amenities, room service delivered to wrong room, constant noise in room left me w/ a headache.

“While I would normally rave about this hotel, I felt I was given a minimalist room: no cotton balls, no robes or slippers, low floor, constant high pitch noise that interrupted my sleep and left me with a headache. Room service was off. Food arrived lukewarm after first being delivered to a wrong room on another floor. Nearby Equinox Spa personnel were rude and inattentive. When I spoke to hotel staff in the morning, they were quite apologetic and said it wasn't the normal experience. I had to agree. I've stayed there many times over the years, and never had such a terrible time. I would hesitate to stay there again.”

“It was nice and comfortable. The staff didn't seem super outgoing, but were friendly enough. The pools were nice and I liked that they had several for children. Overall, very happy.”

“We were greeted by 3 bellman, who all told us to keep waiting and they will get back to us, as we were standing in front of our car with suitcases. Our request was a king for 4 people and we courteously waiting from 3pm till 7 pm to get a double room. This room was then equipped with 3 towels for 4 people and we waited from 10 pm until the next morning to get more (we got them from the maid outside). Our room was filled with ants and the prior people left items in the safe deposit box where the security guard came 2 times to try to remove them (the prior occupants finally contacted us and came into our private room to remove while we were changing).”

“I have stayed several times and am impressed with the remodel of the hotel rooms and hallways that has been done recently. I like the generous balconies that add additional space to the rooms. The pool is beautiful as are the lobby areas and the staff is warm and welcoming.”

• The staff at the restaurant is nice.
• We asked for a room with double beds and got a room with a king-size bed.

“The room was very noisy, and they had to send a technician, who said that he would have to cut the AC in the room for the noise to stop, but that we should get the room for half of the price because the staff in the hotel knew about the problem for this room. The room did not even have a proper bathroom the sink was in the middle of the room, with no door.”

• Beautiful property, felt safe, helpful staff, good location to Hollywood without being in the crowds.
• Was surprised at $31.00 daily parking fee. That's excessive and there were no options.

“We would definitely stay here again in the future and hopefully for more than one night. Great pool area. Enjoyed being away from the crowds in Santa Monica and Hollywood, but close enough to both to enjoy. Bed was a little too hard.”
