• The staff was great and the view of rolling wheat fields is beautiful.
• I would like the pool to be heated and have a complimentary breakfast.

• I like that it is pet friendly. I liked the sweeping views.
• The tables around the pool were dirty.

“I liked the service in all areas; the front desk, the housekeeping and the restaurant. Pendleton has plenty to do; the underground tour, the casino and swimming and sunning. There are hot springs nearby and hikes along the river.”

• The room was beautifully decorated and inviting.
• I wished a very light serve yourself breakfast was provided.

“This hotel was luxury compared to the Economy room, I stayed in previously, and it was less expensive than the overpriced economy hotel. It was wonderful. My balcony overlooked a lovely valley.”

• Great room.
• I had to pay $10 upgrade fee to get a double room.

“The rooms are lovely, big, clean and we loved it. Sadly, no internet and the restaurant is too pricy. The family loved the pool. My only complaint is having to pay extra $10 to get a double room. Loses some of it value.”

• Location was great and the kids liked the pool.
• The temperature in the rooms were 87, no air conditioning, it broke. In Pendleton Oregon that week end it was 106. They need care.

“I feel that the hotel should of had a bit of courtesy for those that were staying. My family brought in about 100 people to stay there for a wedding.”

“We normally liked this hotel, but we didn't stay in a very nice room considering the money we had to pay, so that was disappointing. However, it was fairly clean, but we have stayed in better rooms there for less money.”

• Requested double beds. Unavailable had to buy another room at rack rate.

“The room offered was a king size bed. They offered no other rooms as a solution. We ended up having to purchase another room with king to solve our problem. Rate charged was rack rate. A very unsatisfactory experience.”

• Broken ice machine, unresponsive kitchen, TV controller hard to use, curtains didn't close completely.

• Nice clean room with easy access. Quiet and with comfortable mattresses!
• Upon return to retrieve a bag we left they were very slow to accommodate us even after a call in advance to ask them to have it at the desk it was not.

“Overall, the room accommodations here were very satisfactory. Comfortable beds, a quiet location. A friendly quick check in. However, we left one of our small toiletry bags behind so called several days in advance of our anticipated return, (not to stay but a drive through only to pick up the bag), and the housekeeping manager kept insisting she would keep it in that department even though I asked several times for her to please have it accessible at the front desk as we would be in a hurry. So, when we arrived the front desk on our return trip they had to call the housekeeping department to have them then bring our bag to the front desk. We waited more than 10 minutes for that to happen. There should certainly be more customer satisfaction emphasis placed on this employee, (who incidentally addressed herself as the housekeeping manager and said she would be working on the day of our return), to accommodate the traveler. We did not appreciate having to wait for them to do something.”

• Many dinner menu items were listed but not available. Had to go to my fourth choice.

• The beds were great! The room was very clean.
• The floor plan of this hotel is a bit confusing.

“It was a great place to stay. It was recently refurbished and smelled clean and smokes free. The beds were very comfortable. I especially liked the way the staff makes up the beds. Housekeeping puts two top sheets on the blanket under the bedspread so only freshly laundered sheets can touch you. It was a nice touch.”

• Our room was comfortable and attractive and our dinners were very good.
• Upon arrival, someone else was booked into our room. Upon departure, the desk clerk was rude.

“This is a very attractive hotel with good food and on the whole the staff is helpful. We did find someone booked into our room upon arrival, and the problem took half an hour to straighten out. We had had a long hot day of travel, so the delay was a bit taxing. The manager was very nice and very apologetic. However, when we left the next morning, we told the desk clerk about the problem the night before, and said we thought we ought not to be charged the $2 cost for the bottled water available in the room. She gave some kind of eye-rolling response such as, "whatever." as if we were making an unjustified request and she was sick of such nonsense. So, we may and may not stay there again.”

• I was able to get out quick.
• Dog hair in our beds.

“It looked nice. Beds were comfortable quick access to freeway. Was quick to respond to complaint about dog hair. To many wasps to go swimming otherwise nice to stay.”

• Wonderful mattress & pillows; nice furniture; large rooms; convenient location.
• Squeaky floors (on floor above room); although there were many vacancies, staff grouped us together, making it much more noisy.

“Red Lion apparently remodeled recently - mattress & pillows were wonderful, furniture was new and seemed to be ergonomically designed; nice surroundings/scenery; very large rooms; overall, a surprisingly pleasant experience.”

“Very surprising nice hotel for the area. The pool area was nice and family oriented. The view was nice even if it was sage brush beyond. The carvings in the hotel are a must see even if you don't eat in the restaurant. The room was very nice with a comfy overstuffed chair and ottoman. Friendly staff and quite quiet. I was there on the weekend and found it to be up to my expectations.”

• It was right on the way.
• They ripped us off to get 2 beds.

“I hated this hotel - they made us pay more to have a 2nd bed. Complete rip off! They did not have coffee in the lobby - the pool was out of service - the ice machine sounded like it might explode at any moment - they allowed dogs, but would not accommodate my children! I will never stay there again - the Best Western down the street will get my business in Pendleton from now on.”

• The view, comfortable, spacious, clean. Friendly staff. Good location for interstate. Downtown restaurants.
• There's nothing we did not enjoy or like it was a great stay!

“The hotel was very nicely decorated it has charm and character. The restaurant was clean nice menu. The staff in all departments were very friendly and accommodating at requests. The room was excellent. We especially loved and enjoyed the view. We were in 213 and it over looked mountains and the duck pond. We sat on the terrace and had our morning coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. ”

• We went to the lounge while there, the service was not very good there this time.

• They charge for any extras like newspaper & toothpaste, cot, & 2 beds vs. 1.

• The bed was the best.
• When checking in the hotel clerk threatened us with a $300.00 penalty if the maid smelled cigarette smoke in our room.

“The room it's self was excellent, the hotel however was being remodeled. the ding and lounge areas were excellent. the staff on check in was less than accommodating because red lion is a none smoking hotel the staff at this facility was very aggressive in their informing of this fact and the penalty for smoking in the room.”

• The rooms were redone beautifully.
• The dining room was short staffed in the am. making the service very slow and impersonal.

“The Red Lion Hotel was located conveniently to the Highway. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful during the stay. The rooms were recently redone with comfortable pillow top beds and attractive decor. The remodel was not completed at the time we visited, so parts of the hotel were in the old decor and there was a definite paint odor to other parts which was not very pleasant. The food was excellent in the restaurant. The bar service was pleasant and efficient. Overall, our experience was nice. We felt this hotel was an excellent value.”

• Our room was newly remodeled and very comfortable. The colors and fabrics were very nice, a welcome sight after a tiring trip.
• Our breakfast at the coffee shop was really greasy. I would be hesitant to eat there again.
