• The staff was friendly at check-in and out.
• The AC unit smelled musty everytime it went on.

“The breakfast was expensive for being a lobby restaurant with a staff of 1 person serving as host, waitress, busing tables, etc. The continental breakfast was $7.95 and with cooked to order eggs it was $9.95. The Coco's down the street was $21.80 for 2 and that was steak and eggs for one of us and bacon and eggs for the other Their breakfast was worth more like 5.95 and 7.95.”

• Proximity to freeway and overall location.

“This hotel is great for a family traveler, there are many amenities located within walking distance. A Costco is directly across the street along with a Black Angus Restaurant and a great Pizza and buffet restaurant.”

• Would not accommodate us with 2 beds. Front desk was difficult to deal with.

“It's like renting a small beautiful apartment complete with fireplace and kitchen. The staff was kind and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.”

• Its new, its clean, near freeway, free internet.
• Breakfast a little pricey.

“We just stayed at the Courtyard-Marriot overnight on the way back from Vegas (to the Bay Area). The hotel primarily exists for business travelers, but was great for our needs (traveling with small child): new, clean, free internet, huge hot tub (pseudo-enclosed), pool (though not available in winter). The hotel is 100% tobacco free, which is awesome. Nothing turns me off more than cigarette butts littering the hot tub area. They had a hot breakfast buffet for $10 and $6 for kids. Great if you are a business traveler, but pricey for family travel.”

• Rooms were nice and clean, the hotel looked very nice inside and out.
• The new staffs give someone the same as me, so it wasn't very good when someone else is trying to coming in to your room. The mess was taken care of.

“This was a nice hotel and very clean. But it is in Bakersfield. And with that in mind, not to bad. I would stay there again!”

“Near freeway exit, in industrial area shared with five or six other comparable business hotels. Clean, well kept. Free coffee in room. Breakfast bar about $10. Easy access to rooms from ample parking area. Few restaurants nearby without a car.”

• Conveniently located, friendly, very good breakfast, free newspapers including The Wall Street Journey. Big flat TV in elegant sitting area.
• I selected a king-size bed room instead of the 2 queen size beds and It turned out to be a little small for the 3 of us.

“It is a pleasant hotel with real queen size beds, if you request them. These rooms with 2 queen size beds are much larger than the ones with 1 king size bed. Very nice sitting areas, complimentary coffee and tea during the day. It has a lovely pool in the courtyard surrounded by plants and an indoor Jacuzzi with towels and all. There was nobody enjoying these areas but we were too tired to enjoy them ourselves and went to sleep early. There are several restaurants around the hotel. If you have time, there's a lake about 10 minutes away that is probably a nice area to visit and have dinner. Ask the front desk clerk. Good value for the money.”

• The pool was not safe and the staff did not care.

“My main grip was that there were no lights in or around the pool. When we went in at 8:30 to inform the staff, they did not seem concerned and said, "well, they should be on". At 8:50 I went back again to say that there were still no lights on and I was told that there was nothing they could do, that the lights came on "automatically" at 9:00 p.m. At 9:00 some other exterior lights came on, but no lights came on around or in the pool; it was completely dark with many small children swimming in it. I went back one more time at around 9:30 to tell them the pool was still dark and the girl at the front desk said "well, it should be on". It seemed to me that the staff should have the authority to actually call someone who could fix such a clearly unsafe situation. The one thing we look forward to each year after a long day of driving is a pleasant swim in a well-kept, safely lit pool. I regret staying at the Courtyard. Definitely a substandard experience.”

“We had to stop at Bakersfield to break up a business trip and this was a comfortable and clean room. The breakfast was fine, the staff very pleasant and willing, especially the restaurant staff.”

• The courtesy of the front clerks and the available tea and coffee.
• No microwave or refrigerator in the room.

“This place was practical and pleasant. Staff was very nice. Clean and accommodating as well as very convenient by freeway to the majority of the city of Bakersfield. I felt safe and comfortable and would return.”

• There was no comforter on our bed or in the hotel.

“I used this hotel because I was playing in an adult soccer tournament. I played 5 games of soccer in a row prior to checking in and was exhausted. I also had two teenage girls with me. The two women at the front desk made me feel very uncomfortable. We went to our room cleaned up and went to a nice dinner. When we came back we were looking forward to a much needed rest. To our surprise, when we got into bed we discovered that the nicely folded comforter at the end of our bed was actually a thin bed scarf! The size of a large table runner! We then called the front desk to ask for a comforter and they told us that they did not have comforters in the hotel! We then went to the closet to find a bag of linens which included a blanket that did not even reach over half the bed! We asked the front desk for blankets wherein they sent one beat up balled up tiny blanket! This was so disappointing and made for a terrible sleep and a bad start for the next day. The only thing I needed from this hotel was sleep and they could not make that possible. I would not recommend this specific hotel to anyone.”

“Conveniently located off of highway 99. Staff was able to manage my request of two beds in the room. Lobby was clean and accommodating. Rooms were clean with plenty of room. I would consider staying in this hotel on future trips.”

• Wonderful Bedding, and beautiful Decor, The balcony was great!
• Would have been nice to have a fridge.

“What a great location. Close to the freeway, restaurants, and entertainment, and shopping. Very beautifully decorated, and well maintained. The bedding was amazing. The bed was the BEST bed I've ever slept in, including my own at home. Great staff, and great room features.”

• The lighting is important to be, as far as putting on my make up and getting dresses. Very cheery, cute, clean.
• I liked everything.

• I like the setting, very nice, rooms are spacious.
• The cleaning lady opened our door at 9 am, while were still sleeping. Didn't like it at all. Needs to be improved.

“Overall, I liked the hotel. But we disliked getting woken up by the cleaning lady in the morning while we were still sleeping. The receptionist told us it was a computer error. Errors like this shouldn't happen. Your walls are too thin we can hear things from next door. I thought the breakfast were complimentary per what your. That was a shock when we found out we had to pay for it.”

“This hotel was clean, convenient, and comfortable. There were no special amenities but there was nothing wrong either. My only complaint was with checking out. I wish I could have checked out electronically or by phone instead of going to the front desk before I departed.”

• Goodness, the beds were unbelievably comfy. I'd go back to that place just for the bed.
• Didn't have a bar area that I could find and I didn't have a refrigerator.

“Everything about my stay was great. The rooms were very nice, the beds were incredible, lots of outside areas to relax and enjoy the evening. The location was perfect for what I needed. The staff treated me like any other patron. The girls were very sweet and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.”

• Very accommodating with late check in 3:30 am. Very nice staff.
• I was only there for 8 1/2 hours. It's in Bakersfield.

“The location is fairly convenient to the highway. Very pleasant, helpful staff. Beautiful lobby, very clean and well taken care of. Room was clean with lots of nice extras, very comfortable bed. This was for me, unfortunately, only a one night stay. I arrived late, 3:30 am after a flight delay, and I was only at the hotel for about 8 1/2 hours. I wish I could have seen the pool area and enjoy the various amenities offered. Every staff member that I talked with was courteous, accommodating and friendly. I would definitely like to stay at this hotel in the future if I find myself in that area again.”

• Had to change rooms because the room we were originally put in smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room.
