• Liked the in-room kitchen very much.
• Other patrons were drinking and sitting on the sidewalks outside their rooms, giving the place a trashy feel.

“With Priceline, this hotel was a terrific value, perfect for our connections in Fresno. When traveling in this area again, I will come back.”

• Common areas were dirty, HVAC made me ill.

“I did not stay the second day and chose to check out early. The HVAC was making me ill. Better to drive five hours after a ten hour day. Wireless did not work either.”

• It was close to freeway and a Ihop.
• Room smelled like smoke and the bed was rock hard and creaked.

“It was nice to have a kitchen, but they need to put some TLC in these rooms the bed was too hard! The room smelled of smoke and the creaked and room noise was loud. Think twice befor picking this place.”

• Friendly staff, close proximity to restaurants and theater. Hotel had an elevator to second floor.
• Bed was uncomfortable, very hard; dirty on outside railings noisy air conditioner.

“This hotel was renovating at the time of our stay, the outside of the building was very dirty
railings, etc. Our toilet had a problem with the flush lever and flushing was difficult, it over-flowed that evening and flooded the bathroom. We contacted the front desk person, who was friendly and apologetic, but we were told that their was no one available to help us and no other room they could put us in. However, they could bring us a plunger and cleaning supplies to clean it up ourselves! Uncomfortable mattress, a noisy air conditioner right next to the bed and a miserable night's sleep. I cannot recommend this hotel.”

• The rooms were great clean very nice and the staff was friendly.
• Did not have a pool or continental breakfast.

“Motel was clean and provided everything I needed was at a great location I had dinner at hotel for our anniversary and that was pretty close to the room. They even had a toaster not that I used it but I did use the coffee pot. I would stay there again.”

• Had to change rooms 3 times in two nights.

“This is my second experience with this hotel chain in two different cities with the first experience ending with a broken refrigerator that flooded the bathroom and carpeting. My second experience was worse; I had to change rooms three times for a two night stay due to the malfunctioning room equipment. The first room had a bathroom that was under construction. The second room had a broken air conditioner and the third room had an in room smoke alarm with a dead battery, not good to wake up to at 3am. If you want a restful stay, stay somewhere else.”

• The air conditioning was horrible and inadequate.

“It was clean and conveniently located. The room was 80 degrees when I arrived at 2 pm. I set the AC at 74 degrees and left until 11:30 pm. I returned to find the room 85 degrees. The front desk actually closes at 11pm. I reset the breaker for the AC, turned it off and then back on. When I left the room the next morning at 10:30 am it still had not achieved 74 degrees. The staff said the AC senses whether or not I'm in the room and won't turn on unless I'm there. Horrible policy.”

• Needs a little update. But nice.

“We arrived late in the evening and our room was assigned and waiting. We casually mentioned that after a long day in the National Forest we were looking forward to a hot shower and a good nights sleep. The desk clerk vanished and reappeared holding a big armful of new, clean, fluffy extra bath towels. Without any prompting. Nice proactive touch.”

“Our stay got off to a bad start but it was straightened out when we were able to talk to the management. A clerk should never be in a position dealing with the public. The hotel would do well by getting rid of him. Thank goodness he is not the management, his opinions were vetoed.”

• Location is good, and room is clean.
• Shower water was very weak. Did not clean my room on time.

“I checked-in late at night, but the front desk did not put my record in the computer. So the next day someone came to check-in my room with another key. And at 2:15am someone knocked my door and woke me up. I could not believe this happen in this hotel. Also, when I requested to clean my room, they forgot and delayed two days to make it done. It is a very poor service in this Hotel.”

• The Front Desk staff were sensational to assist me in all my needs, even though my room was a disaster.
• The room I had was completely a disaster. Heater N/A, tub would leek, phone N/A, 3 light bulbs N/A, leaves in the hotel room upon check-in.

“Front Desk Staff were sensational to assist me the best that they could with a room that had nothing good to mention. As an extended stay facility, being comfortable as a "home away from home" did not apply to me and my experience with my room. Horrible, heating problems, bad lighting, uncleanly, tub issues, etc. The only good thing was the staff who did their very best to assist me, thanks to them I made it through my weeks stay.”

• It was conveniently located.
• They said it had a fully equipped kitchen, and it wasnt.

“I would not pay more than I did for it. The kitchenette was supposed to be fully equipped, but wasn't so it was difficult to actually make meals there, there were no mixing bowls or larger utensil. Had I known this I would have brought the needed items. There was no dish detergent so I had to go out and buy some to wash the few dishes they supplied. The bed was very hard. And linens scant. It was clean.”

• The manager was extremely helpful with out special needs.
• Would like queen beds in rooms with two beds.

“We were there for our son in college to have surgery, and the lady who was the daytime manager made extreme efforts to help us with his special needs. We really appreciated the extra effort.”

• The most uncomfortable bed, I have ever slept on. Hard as a rock.

“Satisfactory hotel for the price. But the most uncomfortable bed which was so hard that it was impossible to get a good nights sleep. I would do everything possible to avoid this hotel in the future.”

• Very clean, new rooms.
• Could use a pool and larger cable selection.

“This hotel is close to everything, an easy to find. I was first given a non smoking room that smelled of smoke, but the staff immediately changed. Both rooms that I saw were spotless, and very nice. I like the kitchen to make my own breakfast and to feel more at home.”

• Great staff, great location, really enjoyed my stay.
• I was not pleased with the fact that I needed to call the office to enable my being able to dial out. This was very inconvenient.

“This has been a great stay. I have stayed here before and each time I find the staff extremely accommodating, friendly and wanting to be sure all is well with my stay. Just great!”

• No pool or exercise room, no shampoo or hair dryer unless you asked.

“Good safe convenient location near Highway 41 and close to River Park. Clean and comfortable room. No shampoo, conditioner, lotion, or hair dryer provided in the room but when I asked the front desk for some shampoo and a hair dryer they gladly gave them to me. No swimming pool or exercise facilities - a pool would have been nice during the summer.”

• I liked the idea of a kitchenette in the rooms.
• The room smelled of cigarette smoke, the carpet was badly stained and the beds were uncomfortable.

“The outer appearance of the hotel was nice. The rooms are outdated. The front desk clerk was not very friendly and made numerous mistakes on my visa bill. I liked the fact that it was in a convenient location.”

• There was a plaque on the office wall indicating that the staff would do what was necessary to make us happy, the clerk went over and above to do that.
• No pool, no Jacuzzi and no fun.

“The Esa Fresno-north is a new hotel, in a fairly new part of Fresno. As such, cleanliness was never a question. The rooms were fairly comfortable, and the small kitchen set up allowed us to eat in the night that we were there. The staff was exceptional. In fact, I made a serious error in my reservations, and rather than making me take my medicine, the clerk actually gave us an additional room at a sister hotel for free (the Esa was sold out). On a down note, however, the hotel is "no frills." there was no pool, no Jacuzzi, no breakfast. Esa stands for extended stay America, but we dubbed it the "one night stand" since that is as long as any of us really cared to stay. This is a business destination not a family vacation spot.”

“Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Quickly changed our room when they learned that "non-smoking" room smelled like cigarette smoke. This is our second time staying here, and we will try to stay again the next time we're in Fresno. Be aware that ESA doesn't provide daily housekeeping service (met our expectations).”

“Good place for a weekend stay on a budget. Kitchen facilities allow eating in the room - a cost savings over eating out. Rooms are spacious and clean.”

• Close to an IHOP.
• Room smelled like smoke and it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Also some of the other boarders made us feel uncomfortable.

“We had a group of three and only received one double bed. This facility did not give us room with two double beds and could not provide a roll-away bed. One in our group had to sleep on a recliner.”

• I liked quick check in process. There was plenty of parking.
• Lighting and ventilation was not good. Carpet was not clean.

“I stayed here for one night, to take my toil. Location was about 2 miles from the test facility. There are good eating places for vegetarian people like me. I dined at sweet tomatoes, hop is near by. Room was okay. Not that clean, I was told this is a two star facility, which may be a bit high rating. Staff was friendly, and check in process was very smooth. There is plenty of parking, so there were no hassles there.”

• It had a mini kitchen area.
• The room was given to us just as the last people left it - dirty room & bathroom, unmade bed, poor attitude of desk clerk.

“We arrived 11:00 p.m., were given a key to the room & found out that it had never been cleaned & linen wasn't changed. The desk clerk informed us that no one was available to do it. Finally someone came along to do it & the room was given to us 45 min. Later. We were told that the room couldn't be exchanged for another one & that we would have to wait until someone else came on the next shift to take over to rectify the problem. The sheets were changed & the room cleaned, somewhat, but it wasn't really satisfactorily cleaned - the bedspread had lots of black animal? Or people hair on inside lining of the spread. The walls, countertops, & floors were dirty - the floor wasn't vacuumed but what do you expect 11:00 p.m. night. Bad! I will write to the main office for ESA.”
