• There was a plaque on the office wall indicating that the staff would do what was necessary to make us happy, the clerk went over and above to do that.
• No pool, no Jacuzzi and no fun.

“The Esa Fresno-north is a new hotel, in a fairly new part of Fresno. As such, cleanliness was never a question. The rooms were fairly comfortable, and the small kitchen set up allowed us to eat in the night that we were there. The staff was exceptional. In fact, I made a serious error in my reservations, and rather than making me take my medicine, the clerk actually gave us an additional room at a sister hotel for free (the Esa was sold out). On a down note, however, the hotel is "no frills." there was no pool, no Jacuzzi, no breakfast. Esa stands for extended stay America, but we dubbed it the "one night stand" since that is as long as any of us really cared to stay. This is a business destination not a family vacation spot.”

“Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Quickly changed our room when they learned that "non-smoking" room smelled like cigarette smoke. This is our second time staying here, and we will try to stay again the next time we're in Fresno. Be aware that ESA doesn't provide daily housekeeping service (met our expectations).”

• Did not provide tea, only coffee.

“Good place for a weekend stay on a budget. Kitchen facilities allow eating in the room - a cost savings over eating out. Rooms are spacious and clean.”

• Close to an IHOP.
• Room smelled like smoke and it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Also some of the other boarders made us feel uncomfortable.

“We had a group of three and only received one double bed. This facility did not give us room with two double beds and could not provide a roll-away bed. One in our group had to sleep on a recliner.”

• I liked quick check in process. There was plenty of parking.
• Lighting and ventilation was not good. Carpet was not clean.

“I stayed here for one night, to take my toil. Location was about 2 miles from the test facility. There are good eating places for vegetarian people like me. I dined at sweet tomatoes, hop is near by. Room was okay. Not that clean, I was told this is a two star facility, which may be a bit high rating. Staff was friendly, and check in process was very smooth. There is plenty of parking, so there were no hassles there.”

• It had a mini kitchen area.
• The room was given to us just as the last people left it - dirty room & bathroom, unmade bed, poor attitude of desk clerk.

“We arrived 11:00 p.m., were given a key to the room & found out that it had never been cleaned & linen wasn't changed. The desk clerk informed us that no one was available to do it. Finally someone came along to do it & the room was given to us 45 min. Later. We were told that the room couldn't be exchanged for another one & that we would have to wait until someone else came on the next shift to take over to rectify the problem. The sheets were changed & the room cleaned, somewhat, but it wasn't really satisfactorily cleaned - the bedspread had lots of black animal? Or people hair on inside lining of the spread. The walls, countertops, & floors were dirty - the floor wasn't vacuumed but what do you expect 11:00 p.m. night. Bad! I will write to the main office for ESA.”

• Housekeeping only comes when called. Beds are not re-made daily.

“Large comfortable room with kitchen and full size refrigerator. Friendly staff. Laundry facilities are only so-so. Very conveniently located in north Fresno. Half the cost of anything in the area.”

• Rudeness of office staff in complaining about my young kids walking too loud on the floor of the room.

“The hotel was fine for cleanliness and location and quality of facilities, etc. what was not fine is there were complaints from the lobby to our room about our young children walking on the floor. Apparently someone was trying to sleep at 8 pm and thought the walking was too loud. It's an unfortunate experience when walking in our room causes complaints and makes us feel we're on eggshells (can we not flush the toilet in the middle of the night either?). We have let the staff know there we will not be returning to this hotel. I would highly recommend that any families with young children not stay at this hotel.”

• It was clean.
• Was non smoking but could smell and see that smoking had occurred.

“It was clean, the box spring was broken on one of the beds, good thing we ended up not needing it. The air conditioner did not work. It was a non smoking room but you could see it and there were burn marks on the bathroom counter. We are smokers but did not smoke in the room; I hope we do not get charged for this.”

• The location was great and having a full size refrigerator was a plus!
• The price was for one queen size bed. We had to pay another $60 for another bed. The rooms smelled like smoke even though it's a non-smoking hotel.

“We enjoyed out stay at Extended Stay America. It would have been nice to have two queen beds offered at the same price. The hotel was clean and allowed enough parking for our motor home, boat and personal watercraft.”

• Broken microwave, no toiletries available, limited TV channels, no radio.

“This particular Extended Stay America location was far below the quality of other Extended Stay America's I've stayed in. Although it did have a small kitchenette, the microwave was broken and there were very few utensils available. I was also surprised to see that they offered no toiletries. The TV had only limited channels which is a disappointment since that is really the only entertainment one can get while in the room. There was also no radio.”

“Received smoking room (reserved non-smoking) when I asked for another room, I was told sorry but we're full - I will have the maid come up and spray air freshener. Room reeked of cigarettes maybe the maid is smoking while cleaning the rooms. Really bad. Service minimal front desk staff was confused on how to handle credit card charges. Would not return (too many other choices).”

• Internet access was not stable. Wireless was slow and dropped frequently.

“Overall the experience was pleasant. Located next to IHOP witch was alright (not open 24 hrs). Area was nice, close to shopping, dinning, and neighborhood park.”

“Room came with 1 queen bed. No rooms were available with a second bed. Hotel did not have roll always available. Asked for non-smoking room and clerk assured me room was non-smoking. However, room had definite smoke odor. Internet access costs an additional $4.99 per night.. Internet speed was very slow. No continental breakfast served.”

• We do like having the kitchenette.
• We work trade shows, stand up 8-10 hrs a day, 3-9 days in a row and REALLY need our rest, a king bed or 2 double is best for us.

“Nicely landscaped, decorated and maintained and under most circumstances, it is a great place to stay, just for us, it isn't as convenient. ”

• Good location in North Fresno. Friendly staff. Good if you want to have kitchen facilities.
• Bare bones. No pool or spa. Not a good leisure hotel. More geared for long business stays.

• Smell of tobacco in non-smoking room; kept wife awake most of night.

“The location is great. Good breakfast restaurant adjacent to property. However, we received a "non-smoking" room that smelled heavily of tobacco, which kept my wife awake most of night and affected her allergies. Staff could not give us another room, claiming all rooms were booked even though parking lot was half empty. Staff did give us strong Lysol type spray to try to reduce tobacco smell in room, which helped somewhat. Would not recommend hotel to others; have had better experiences at other Fresno hotels.”

• I do not like the hotel's basic philosophy: not cleaning the rooms, not replacing used linen, not providing shampoo, lotion, and enough coffee for a week.

• One of the receptionists was unpleasant to deal with on the phone.

• There was an Inox next door.
• We were originally checked in to a dirty room, front desk gave us a new room.

“If you just need a place to lay your head, this hotel will do. Its in a business park and is close to a major entertainment area in town. The room was a studio with a mini kitchen and full size fridge.”
