• Convenient location.
• Could hear easily thru the walls, the plumbing sounded like it was behind the headboard!

• The staff was very helpful and gave us a late check out with no charge.
• The extra $20 charge to have 2 beds, other hotels have not charged us that.

• Great location, staff is always pleasant.
• It's loud. It's an old property and hasn't been updated.

“Great location, staff is good. The only drawback is that it's a bit loud. You can hear people walking up/down the halls, maids in the morning. If I were in my room more, it would be an annoyance. Don't plan on sleeping past 6:30 am.”

• The room was clean and beautiful. The ponds and the ducks added a unique touch to the place. It made you feel peaceful and comfortable.
• The front desk attendant should be more friendly.

“My mother and I were traveling through Santa Barbara and Room available was one king bed at the Ramada. We asked the front desk person (at 7 pm) if she could give us two double beds. She offered with a charge of $22 more.”

• I liked the entire experience.

“This hotel more than met my expectations. The bed was comfortable, there were lots of different density pillows, a microwave, refrigerator, balcony, and numerous items in the bathroom including shower cap, sewing kit, shoe cloth, and even a rubber ducky! Even though it was right off the freeway, it was very quiet. I highly recommend it for any type traveler.”

“The bathroom shower needed regrouting or recaulking. The bathroom did not have proper ventillation and it smelled very sour. The mirrors had not been cleaned in a while, they had a layer of dust on them.”

• Modern looking, cute grounds area.
• Location was a little strange, right off the freeway with screen doors right on the ground floor balconies, may be a little unsafe for 1st floor guests?

“The hotel was great. I really was looking to spend much less than that and would have been happy with a hotel that had less amenities, as I just wanted to come up for a night and see Santa Barbara. But for someone on a little bit of a higher budget that wants a place that looks nice, decorated well, etc. I'm sure it's a great fit.”

• The cleanliness was impressive, and little touches like mints and sewing kits are pleasant little surprises for a room at a value price.
• Not a thing. I loved the little rubber fish they used as a cute decor in the bathroom.

“One of the best choices in hotel rooms I've made this side of the Pacific. I can be quite selective and nit-picky about where I lay my head. This place was clean and spacious and I didn't feel at all like I needed to care about anything but a good night's sleep.”

“The staff at the Ramada Limited can be highly recommended. They were very friendly and went out of their way to meet my needs. The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast more than expected for a continental breakfast. The hotel is easy to find and close to all Santa Barbara has to offer. I will definitely stay here again and will recommend to family and friends.”

• This was an economy level, comfort of Motel 6.

“The staff was friendly and helpful. Very noisy, dingy, free continental breakfast was average. Vending matching took my money without vending my water. Hotel did reimburse me. Sliding glass door to first floor patio did not have a functioning lock. Used a stick to secure door for the night. I would not recommend this hotel/motel.”

• Gave me last room right next to freeway and exit door.

“I was a female traveling solo on a business trip and they put me in the last room at the end of the hallway right next to an exit door and directly next to the freeway. The room was noisy and I did not feel safe. I slept with the light on as I heard people going in and out of the door outside my room all night long. I checked out as early as I could. It was depressing a nothing comforting or like home in the whole hotel.”

• It was quiet and offered a good continental breakfast.
• No gym, workout room, etc.

“It was a reasonable distance from UCSB which was my daytime destination. The room was quiet and clean. The morning breakfast was a time and money saver. They could put in a few exercise machines to make it more in line with other hotels of a similar nature.”

• Comfortable bed. Nice shower head. Friendly helpful staff.
• Gross Jacuzzi. Broken chairs on balcony. Lousy view. Awkward toilet. Odd hallways. Small king room. Far off beaten path. Gray shower floor.

“Nothing to write home about. Friendly staff. Rooms are small and do not have a great view of the mountains. Hotel looked a bit tired, as did the rooms. Jacuzzi literally smelled like a wet dog - so disgusting. Pool was not much better. Nice view of the 101 freeway from the pool. Pond was neat, but not a highlight. Mediocre breakfast in and uncomfortable sitting area. Room was ok, but awkward bathroom. Toilet was small and awkward to use. Nice shower head though. Very friendly and helpful staff although the hotel manager seemed a bit pushy. Great for the budget traveler who is not too picky about amenities. Be prepared to drive anywhere you will need to go! The only thing in walking distance is the gas station next door and the Inn out two blocks away.”

• Its location was relatively close to UCSB and Downtown.
• Parking spots were not readily available at all times of the day/night.

“I wasn't expecting too much from this hotel, except for a nice cozy bed, which they did indeed provide. The location of this hotel is perfect in my mind. It's relatively close the UCSB's campus, if that's your destination; at the same time, it was close to Downtown as well, where all the restaurants and fun places are. One flaw about the hotel was their parking lot. During the day, the parking lot seemed empty and deserted, however at night fall; the lot is filled to capacity. I couldn't find an open spot so was told to park across the street at the IHOP parking lot, which looked very unsafe. That would have to be my only complaint regarding my stay at this hotel.”

• Lovely hotel, beautiful city, friendly people.
• The night staff was unpleasant.

“The entire hotel was very well kept. When we checked in the lobby smelled of fresh baked cookies which set the tone for our whole stay. The pond was so relaxing and beautiful. The free breakfast was more then adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool and Jacuzzi were clean and heated perfectly. The food at the IHOP across the street was good and the staff there were very nice. We only stayed for two days but I wish it would have been longer.”

• There was no In-hotel Restaurant, just IHOP next-door.

• Excellent staff. Recently remodeled rooms were very nice. 4-5 minutes from downtown Santa Barbra hub of action.

• We did have to pay extra for two Quin beds.

• I found the location a bit inconvenient, i.e. not within walking distance of restaurants.

“I requested a room with 2 beds because I was traveling with my wife and 2 older daughters. When I arrived at the hotel, it was completely booked and I could not be accommodated with the 2 beds. I spoke with a gentle man from house keeping, and they were completely out of roll away beds. We had to purchase a blow up mattress for my girls to sleep on. The AC worked, but did not work well. It did not cool the room off. I was extremely disappointed with this.”

• The hotel provided us what we needed for a short stay.
• The people in reception area talks to guests in a condescending manner.

“The hotel is in a good location with respect to Santa Barbara's main points of interests. The room was spacious and clean. The pool was of average size where one can lounge. The parking space is sufficient considering the number of units available. However, the front desk talks to guests in a condescending manner. I asked to borrow a cork opener. I was told to go up front which I did. Upon receipt of the cork opener, I was told in a rude and petulant manner that I should return the cork opener immediately after use because they don't have any other cork opener available. I understand that it is a two-star hotel and it has limited resources and staff.”

• Difficult to find; the street is not continuous.

“The room was clean and comfortable with a great bed, the bathroom had plenty of hot water and towels, the lily pond in the center (with ducks) is a fine touch and the continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise. It had everything, including a friendly staff person who wiped tables and kept the room clean. All in all, a very pleasant experience.”

• The staff was friendly and very helpful. We were unfamiliar with the area and they gave us info on where to go and what to do.
• Overall a great place the location, if anything, was the least desirable part because it was a bit far from the main attraction.

“Older motel with some remodeling and upgrades. The Lobby was being remodeled and so the first impression was not perfect. The location was convenient and the room was clean and quiet.”
