• One front desk clerk was very nice.
• Dirty room, and the carpet didn't even reach the walls.

“This was by far the dirtiest, oldest hotel setting I have ever been in at this star level. Freezing cold, heater barely worked, my 8 month old froze all night, no extra blankets were available. The carpet had been replaced, but was cut way too short and didn't reach the walls. Tiny room.”

• Large room with sofa.
• Not the greatest view from the window (industrial area).

“Very nice Ramada property - better than expected! Large, comfortable and clean room with sofa and desk. Large screen TV with Show time. Hot water with excellent pressure in shower (9th floor). Friendly efficient staff at check in and check out. Lots of free parking that is close to the door.”

• The staff was friendly & helpful.
• It was shabby and outdated.

“Lobby furniture was old & worn. The rooms were clean, but haven't been updated in probably 20 years. The adjacent casino was disgustingly filthy. The hotel offers little amenities, no room service, no refrigerator or microwave or safe in the rooms.”

• The hotel staff was very friendly and a non-smoking room was available.
• I was in an old room, green tiled bathroom on the cheap floor that had not been redecorated like all of the others.

• The rooms are noisy. We had problems with neighbors. Bed too hard.

• The courtesy of staff was impeccable; very much appreciated.
• Had to wait more than an hour to be picked up by shuttle; finally decided to walk back to hotel.

“Staff was more than accommodating to our needs going above and beyond their "duties". The pool was huge and very clean. The view from our room was also a plus. I highly recommend this hotel for both price and friendliness of staff.”

• It was near the interstate.
• The lobby stunk badly of cigarette smoke from the casino.

“I would not want to stay there again. Access to the pool was difficult, dirty, and seemed unsafe as anyone could enter the stairwell to the pool area. I was concerned that there was no visibility to staff/security in the stairwell or the pool. The room was fair, but smelled odd and seemed musty.”

• It was old and the rooms were small.

• Downtown shuttle service, very nice drivers.
• Shuttle hours, inconsistence saw it running after hours.

“Very nice rooms, housekeeping staff greeted us with a good morning and a smile. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We are non smokers and had a smoking room. Staff ran air cleaner and room was great.”

• Very easy to get to, the little casino attached is very fun.
• The pool had no easy access, only way was stairs and I can't do stairs, so no pool.

• Coffee maker and internet access, comfortable bed and great pillows.
• Room carpets feel sticky, the parking lot and nearby streets have a lot of nefarious characters lurking about.

“Certainly adequate- not the best location safety-wise. But the beds are comfortable, they have great pillows, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Like all Reno hotels, there's the unpleasant smell of stale cigarette smoke in the lobby. Compared to my stay at the Reno Sands Regency just a week prior, though, the Holiday Inn seems like the pinnacle of luxury! I would definitely go back.”

• Convenient to airport, downtown and freeways.
• Not the best neighborhood.

“This hotel was easy to find for a first-time visitor to Reno and, although it's relatively close to the downtown casinos, it also has a decent little casino right on the premises. It's an older hotel, but it seems clean and well-maintained (except for a non-functioning ice machine on my floor, but there is one on every floor, so it was only a minor inconvenience). It was certainly adequate for my purposes and was a good value for the price.”

• Staff was very friendly & helpful. Moderately clean facility. Rooms were very clean.
• Adjacent gambling casino & drifting cigarette smoke.

“It met our expectations as we don't gamble. It was reasonably clean. Casino environment isn't compatible with families. Needs a design change to keep the casino's cigarette smoke from drifting into the main lobby. We would stay again. Hotel room was very clean.”

• No problem finding a parking space.
• Noisy neighbors. Plumbing is very noisy too. We could hear flushes and showers in adjacent rooms.

“The Holiday Inn is average. The room itself was nice enough, but the hotel is located in a run-down area of town. Noise from the plumbing in adjacent rooms was annoying, and being awakened at 2 AM by noisy neighbors across the hall was not appreciated. We did not patronize the restaurant, use the pool or visit the casino. OK for a one night stay, but try another hotel for extended stays.”

• Bad are full of homeless and drug addicts and hookers.

“The internet should be free where you need a key to get into room and they should not charge. Also, security should ask people for key instead of just anybody walking inside. Also, not typical for Holiday Inns is no free breakfast, but there is a free van that will go downtown and the airport.”

“Perfect for the price, wasn't expecting anything outstanding but was clean and comfortable. However online it says the rooms have fridges (which I need for my baby) but when we got there, they charged us extra for the fridge, I was upset about that but other than that, no problems.”

• Uncomfortable beds, scary location, terrible food, run-down casino attached.

“The area this hotel is in is unsafe. The casino attached to the hotel is definitely a low-income locals casino. Lots of police activity. Rooms and hotel lobby were very clean, however the beds were extremely lumpy for a hotel bed and we kept having to call maintenance to repair the toilet. The heat worked on/off. Bad TV reception on all the good channels. It was basically a room to just sleep in. Restaurant food was not good. Stay away from the gift shop. I definitely would not recommend this hotel for families, or for comfort even just as a quick over-night stop.”

• There were shady characters hanging around the lobby non-stop.

“The hotel rooms were clean and once I went in my room I felt safe. the casino/lobby area however had people hanging around who were asking for money, cigarettes. That made me very uncomfortable. we drove into the city were it felt safer.”

• I was pleased that it was not the awful place that I had read in other reviews! A good thing was the shuttle service--pretty much at your convenience.
• Nothing.

“I had heard bad reviews on the cleanliness of this hotel. I found this not to be true! My room as well as public areas in the hotel were all in acceptable order for cleanliness! The staff was most helpful in getting me to and from town, and for my return trip to the airport. I understand that the attached casino has a bad reputation---something about things that go on outside the back door--but personally I do not hang outside the back doors of any places that I frequent! I found the casino to be a little outdated--carpet and such- but the food available and the staff there were wonderful! When I go back to Reno again--I will probably stay at the hotel again--especially for the money! It was a great deal for me!”

“Very nice looking facility inside and out. Rooms are very nice, staff helpful. The only drawback is the homeless population is always in the parking lot. I was hit up for money every time I came out of or entered the building.”

• Bathtub/shower leaked badly, no fridge or microwave, no sofa or lounge chair.

“Our bathtub/shower leaked badly and got water all over the floor. There was no microwave or fridge in the room. The TV had poor reception. There was a big empty corner that lacked any furniture. Also, because this hotel is in Reno, the lobby smells badly of smoke. The neighborhood is terrible. Many questionable people walking around the streets.”
