• Hotel staff was friendly. Hotel was not excessively packed for a holiday weekend.
• Room was next to large bank of A/C units outside window. Zero view.

“The price for this 4 star hotel was not worth it. My room was next to a large bank of air conditioner units that served the restaurant below. I had no view except of these air conditioners.”

• Near the river.
• Small room, over priced, no view, by the elevator.

“I was put in a small room by the elevator with a king size bed - even though I was traveling with my 16 year old daughter. It was a small noisy room and not worth the price. We had a roof top view, but they told us it was a mountain view and the wall was covered with a curtain, with one small window.”

• Quite and away from the hustle and bustle of down town but close enough to walk down town.
• Did not consider it a 5 star hotel.

“Although this hotel was not a 5 star hotel, it was a nice change from the down hotel chains and was still close enough to walk to everything I needed, including the casinos.”

• The soap and shampoo was nice.
• Nasty stains every where, rundown condition, staff did not know much.

“I expected much more from the Red Lion Inn as it is a well known chain - the place needs to be refurbished - our ottoman had a huge stain on it, if it where my place I would have dumped it rather than create the negative impression they did by leaving it in the room. Floors were stained - air conditioning had no knobs, no face plate and the cover was hanging off - a dump in my opinion. I have pictures also.”

• Beautiful room and view, excellent toiletries in bathroom.
• The coffee shop/cafe food was bad. Service was unprofessional.

“Front desk staff was lukewarm. Our room was gorgeous with views of Truckee River and city lights. Luxurious white linens on comfortable bed. Dinner at the cafe was disappointing, salad was not fresh and prawns were spoiled and smelly. Service was bad, too. Drinks were never refilled, and our waiter went home without closing our check. Manager had to be found to get our check, without any apology for our bad food or service. Room service for breakfast was excellent, great service, great food, and ahead of schedule. Casino was clean, dealers were not very friendly. Overall, the room and room service were excellent. Everything else was poor.”

• There really was nothing we did not like except the bed was too soft - but was fine for my spouse!

• The bathroom was very wide.
• The refrigerator was missing and the window curtain did not provide privacy.

“How to locate the restroom, of the casino, The dining room, how to schedule for the continental breakfast I harshly missed, including, they failed to announce any promotions if I stayed a few more nights. By providing these type of information, the refrigerator missing would had been solved in their question is everything alright in your room and maybe I could had been escorted to my room and demonstrated how to use their lock card to open the door; A little noises during the day their phone number was not emphasized. Else, it was a pleasant and peaceful stay.”

• The employees in the casino were friendly and provided excellent service.
• The room was a little small.

“My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time at the Siena. The accommodations were good and the general ambiance of the hotel was suited for our July 4th get a way. We had a view of the Truckee River from our room which was terrific. I would love to go back there again within the next year.”

• The building seems to be in disrepair.

“The staff was fantastic and the dining on the river was incredible. It wasn't a far walk into down town, just about right for an after meal stroll. We had a great time.”

• It is good and clean. Parking facility is good.
• It is a little far away from Downtown.

“The hotel had no microwave in room. When I pointed this out to the manager, he point blank refuted and refused to provide me this. I have diet restriction and I had carried home food which I wanted heated before consumption. This disappointed me.”

• The service was impeccable, free valet parking, turn down service etc.
• Carpets were stained, smell of smoke was everywhere. Their casual dining experience was horrible.

“Nice boutique hotel, wonderful service. The bedding was wonderful, restaurants were not great, the fitness room was small and the pool out of order. The views were great!”

• Location near the Reno events center, friendly staff, clean, nice room.
• Being a casino/hotel, I had to keep kids on short leash and was reminded of that by security.

• The staff are all, without exception, helpful and positive.
• No steam room, pool (closed), or sauna.

“Siena is a nice hotel in Reno and earned a solid 3 stars. The room was clean and in good condition, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The location is central, but Reno is an odd town so I would not bring kids here. There is no sauna or steam room and the pool was closed in May. I might return if the price was right and saving money was a priority.”

• Good location- liked the 24 hour restaurant availability.
• Took a shower first morning, tub would not drain.

“My room seemed small. The view was not mountain side or river. Mine overlooked the roof top air conditioning units. My room was across the hall from conference rooms, which seemed strange to me. To be fair, there were 3 large conventions going on this weekend and most major casino/hotels were solidly booked.”

• The beds were so comfortable.
• The hotel staff did not clean our room, until we asked.

“Although the hotel was beautiful and the room was very comfortable. The cleaning staff was not up to par. During our stay we had to ask them a few time if they would clean our room, when we returned they had just made our beds and did not give us fresh towels.”

• Room service delivery staff was very nice. The room was nice.

“Hotel was attractive and room service very friendly and prompt. The cafe food was mediocre. We didn't eat at the upscale restaurant, so no comment. They could install better ventilation for the casino area, way too Smokey. Nice river view from our room. Nice selection of soap, shampoo, etc. Turn down treats as well.”

• Nice hotel. Without one bad experience would have been rated much higher.
• A/C was terrible and made the hotel stay negative.

“Very clean and nice hotel. Liked it very much for the most part but rated it much lower due to the A/C problem that made it difficult to sleep. If that was not a problem I would have given a much higher recommendation. I would have liked more customer service satisfaction with the issue.”

• All the rooms were non-smoking, clean, with nice bathroom.
• Our room's window was blocked by air-conditioning duct. Must be higher than 2nd floor to get any view!

“The hotel is a boutique hotel who attempts to cater to the older single and business crowd. With a small casino and a block from the main drag. This hotel provides a safer less active environment for those who feel that the main drag may just be too much for them. The hotel also gives free afternoon snacks and does courtesy calls after check in to insure your room is adequate. In the end it is a 3 star attempting to be a 4 star. The good part is that unlike many 4 stars that nickel and dime you these days it provides many amenities for business users for free Internet and such.”

• I liked how friendly everyone was and the hotel was extremely clean and very beautiful. It was a very nice and romantic trip for me and my husband.
• There really was nothing I that I did not like it was like I said very friendly that staff extremely nice and overall I had a great time there.

“I would recommend this hotel. It is very well kept. I love how friendly the staff was, as soon as we got there to check in the staff member offered to up grade us to a kind size bed/suite it was so pretty. I extremely enjoyed my trip and it's not to far from the silver leg. Or other close casinos. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.”

• Attempted double billing for room.

“In January, 2007, we made a reservation for February. Upon checking in at the confirmed date in February, the front desk told us they had no record we had already been charged and were going to charge us again. The burden of proof was placed solely on us. We had to dig in bank statements and produce the visa reference number to show we had already been billed. Their response after that was basically - "oh, we must have thought you were checking in at the end of January and billed you as a no show." They never apologized, nor explained how this error had happened in their system. We have since tried to get an explanation from management - no response.”

• Loved the location (by the river), loved Lexie's restaurant & the Spa.
• Liked it all.

“The Siena is a beautiful boutique hotel, spa & casino in the heart of downtown Reno, NV. Our room faced the Truckee River, which we loved looking at. Lexie's restaurant also overlooks the Truckee; the food, service & ambience is excellent. Siena's location to downtown Reno, NV allows one to walk downtown as well as enjoy the River Walk along the Truckee River to enjoy the river & the scenery. A truly delightful hotel/spa. I loved the spa, it is immaculate, serene with excellent services. Will only stay @ the Siena while visiting Reno.”

• Wanted 2 beds but could not guarantee. Check-in give us 2 beds and choice of rooms- got river view.
• Having trouble getting a receipt showing proper amount paid.

“Hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had a great view of the river. Told rest of Baseball team about it and hope all of team stays there next year.”

“I made reservations after reading other guests comments in comparison to regular hotel ratings. The Siena was given very positive ranking. We were very pleased. The staff was helpful and pleasant although only one of our internet reservations was entered we had no trouble getting a second room. I had also brought the internet printouts of the reservations. Rooms large, clean, very quiet the first night, the room next door on the second was very noisy but a call to the desk brought security immediately and quiet. Walking to major hotels a bit uncomfortable at night but if there are several of you, no problem. It is really over the river and a block from Harrahs. We'd definately do it again. Gets you away a bit from all the action but not too far.”

“The Siena was a pleasure to stay at and I would definitely stay there again! Rooms were comfy and clean with large bathroom. Wonderful river view! Enjoyed the casino and the Contrada restaurant also.”
