“Circus Circus is the first hotel casino in downtown Reno that you come in contact with from I-80. You can tell that times are tough for the casino since the west tower (CC calls it s. tower) escalator spends more time out of order than functioning. Another indicator is free self advertising pens that were in abundance on the casino floor area are now scarce. Those things in their own right aren't cause not to visit or the decor which seems dated by wear. This past week management has security searching all vehicles before they can enter the property. Pop your hood, pop your trunk, security is looking in or else! A guard slammed the trunk lid so hard that the catch jammed and the lid bounced up n down. Poor driver had to stop and figure out how to fix the catch so he could shut his trunk. If you ask different security officers why this is happening and you get different answers. Because of the India attacks, holiday season, because management said to, is a few excuses given. If a police officer asks to search my car and doesn't have a warrant in his/her hand I automatically say no. Some people think why don't I and what am I hiding? I'm not hiding anything. I just feel it's an infringement of my rights and very humiliating. So in my opinion CC security doesn't even have a right to ask. People go to Reno to have fun, get away from stressful things, for romance, etc. Getting searched before you even check in and every time you return in your vehicle is not fun and most likely ruins your mood for having fun. Vacation places want you to enjoy yourself and try to help you in this endeavor so that you'll return. Not so for Circus Circus. The economy is bad right now and the Reno casinos aren't filling up on the weekends. I'd suggest avoiding Circus Circus since it won't be hard to find a more hospitable hotel/casino to stay in.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 15, 2008 by

“Wow! This hotel is amazing! Other than the fact that the bathroom was slightly moldy and that there was no fan, the rooms were great. The experience was great and the place was great if you have kids. My 7 year old daughter was very excited about all the toys (although cheap), and my two sons just had a blast in the arcade. Although I and my wife were not much of the gambling type, we did spend some time in the slots and we had a good time. When it was time to eat we didnt even bother looking for a restaurant in the hotel because we know for a fact that the food isnt too great. In the end, for the low price this hotel was worth it.” Sep 20, 2007 by

“The hotel is old but famous. It was being upgraded while we were their, exterior anyway. The bathrooms had mold around the shower edges and there was no fan in the bathrooms. Other than that the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The casinos were friendly, but smoky. We smelled by the end of the night just walking around circus from the smoke. The location was very convenient; we could walk all over downtown Reno. The area seemed safe.” May 24, 2007 by

“Over all the best. I can tell you I would stay there again.” Feb 22, 2007 by

“The sky towers building needs to be closed while they do a complete stripping of the carpet, curtains and anything else that hasn't been replaced since it opened. The beds and pillows were hard and the rooms smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The midway is good for families with kids, but it is located in the center of the walkways and restaurants and causes traffic jams. This and long restaurant lines makes traversing from one area to another very difficult. Once past the midway and into the center of the three hotel-connection area (giant dome), it is much easier to get around. I would suggest leaving all the slot machines downstairs, however, and putting in more shops or restaurant seating for those who do not gamble.” Feb 15, 2007 by

“Very family friendly and worth the trip. The mini suite was perfect for me and my 3 children. They loved circus and would recommended the hotel to anyone thinking about staying!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 31, 2007 by

“The hotel was good but I am still trying to see if I am charge twice.” Dec 30, 2006 by

“The hotel was a great place to stay with kids. It just took a long time to register. There was about 50 other people registering at the same time we did.” Dec 5, 2006 by
Jamie from Otley, IA
“If you have children, this is a great place. Circus has a carnival area and circus for the kids. The best part is the fact that it is hooked to el dorado and silver legacy so you can stay inside and walk for miles. Tons of casino action, shows, bars, restaurants.” Sep 27, 2006 by
Mitchell from Brentwood, CA
“I really don't know how to write a review. All I can say is that my stay and the great room was the best I have ever had.” Sep 15, 2006 by
Gabe from Penn Valley, CA
“Circus Reno was a pretty good hotel. Relatively clean, quiet and a nice view. The only problem that I had was that they did not have good Internet access. They used a company that charged $9.99 a day for wireless and their "high-speed" Internet was slower than dial-up.” Aug 29, 2006 by
Dennis from Petaluma, CA
“Overall, a very nice experience. Everything functioned properly, decor was nice, staff efficient, food good. Connects to two other large casino hotels, so ample choices and diversions without leaving the facility.” Aug 17, 2006 by
Bert from Salt Lake City, UT
“It is a good value but very busy hotel. The Check in person had worked only 3 days. They gave us a smoking room instead of non-smoking. After waiting 45 minutes to check in, we didn't request a room change.” Aug 14, 2006 by
Irvin from San Diego, CA
“This hotel was perfect for the trip to Tahoe.” Jul 19, 2006 by
Gina from Boise, ID
“Location was great - kids loved the midway - the room could have been cleaner and there weren't enough towels for all of us - parking garage was too far from room.” May 10, 2006 by
Enrique from Santa Clara, CA
“It has a great atmosphere and the employees are great.” Apr 9, 2006 by

“If value for money in a convenient location is what you're after, then Circus is a good choice: it's cheap! It's not in perfect condition and it's certainly not without its faults, but it's very comfortable and clean.” Mar 29, 2006 by
Dennis from Cottage Grove, OR
“Not a bad place to stay if you have children with you since the choices are limited in Reno if you want to stay at one of the casinos.” Mar 20, 2006 by
Roger from Oxford, NE
“We were at Silver Legacy the previous night but needed to move to Circus which was connected, we were able to check in early which was a big help, very accommodating and very nice stay.” Mar 15, 2006 by
Nancy from Titusville, PA
“We had a very nice stay. The room was larger than most hotels we've stayed in and very clean. The workout facility was above average by hotel standards. It was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. The staff was friendly and courteous. We had a very nice time.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 12, 2006 by

“Great for families on a budget. You can get a mini suite for around $60 per night. The mini suite is very roomy and the bed is comfy. Pleasant decor in suites. The pizza restaurant is great but the Courtyard Buffet is terribly overpriced as the food is extremely mediocre. Best to go to another Casino buffet if that is an attraction for you. If there are 4 of you in a room, you will get 4 towels, washcloths. No generosity there. You must request a coffee maker if you would like one and it took several requests for us to get one. Overall, a good place to stay.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 13, 2006 by

“Great location and lots to do, however the hotel is not all that clean, but always a great deal for the price.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.
