• Beautiful interior garden area visible from your room.
• Breakfast is skimpy.

“We have stayed here several times in the past five years. Prices are very reasonable considering what you get. Overall the value here is very good, so we keep coming back. It is pet friendly, which is important to us, but it is never overrun with animals. There is a convenient dog walking area in the back. The pet fee is an additional $20. The rooms are large, airy, well kept, and very pleasant. There is a comfortable sitting area and the beds are quite good. The rooms look out on a very large grass interior area with a swimming pool. We love to sit out in the garden court area when the weather allows. The bathrooms are cramped but adequately clean, if not spotless. Staff seem to care about their customers. They are courteous and very helpful. The motel is a little awkward to get to coming up Hwy 99 from the south, but very easy to access coming from the north. The outside appearance is very drab, which is at complete odds with the delightful interior garden court. The location of the free breakfast is a little awkward and, if you are a big breakfast eater, the meal will probably seem pretty skimpy. .”

• The full breakfast was good and the cooks were friendly.
• Very disappointed with the comfort level of the rooms.

“Upon arriving we were assigned a room that had not yet been cleaned up. Went back to the office and was assigned a room with a loud rattling air conditioner which didn't cool the room (late June) and a broken ceiling fan. Returned to the office and was offered a different room but opted to stay due to a promise from the manager that someone was going to fix the problems shortly. The air conditioner was fixed by turning it completely off. But the fan was fixed. Turned off the lights went to bed, got up to go to the bathroom, turned on the lights to find bugs running and scattering. My family couldn't do anything but laugh otherwise we would have been in tears. Not a good family experience for us at all.”

“This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I will not stay here again. The room was very run down. The bed was hard and the sheets were stiff.”

• The room was filthy and disgusting and the shower was too small.

“This place is a dump! The lack of maintenance and cleanliness showed at every opportunity. There were stains all over all the bedding on both beds, the wallpaper was peeling everywhere and there was mold in the shower. There were also broken beer bottles in the hot tub. Needless to say, I didn't use it. The best part of my stay here was leaving.”

• Plenty of parking and friendly staff.
• Got a room with a broken AC unit in July in Central California.

“The staff was friendly. There is a restaurant next to the hotel, and they supply you with 2 complimentary breakfast tickets, which I have not used. It's located really close to the freeway entrance but quite a ways from the exit ramp. The hotel is rather old and outdated. Same goes for the rooms. If you are desperate or on a budget then this will suffice. My girlfriend would not stay there, luckily I was traveling solo. I've stayed at this location twice and I will not return.”

• Too far from our destination (Downtown Fresno).

“This hotel was way too far from downtown. ($15 Taxi ride each way) We could have stayed in the 4 Star hotel across the street from our destination for the same price if you include the taxi rides around town.”

• The garden area was lovely.
• Air conditioning didn't work; no refrigerator or hair dryer.

“It was 110 degrees that day in Fresno and the room air conditioner didn't work well at all. We live in the desert, so we're used to heat but also used to a/c that works, and we had trouble falling asleep. They also charged us $10 extra per room to have 2 full/queen beds instead of 1 king-sized bed.”

• Coming out of 90 degree weather, I enjoyed walking into our rooms with the air conditioning already on and having what we needed.
• All was as expected.

“This hotel is perfect for the traveler that doesn't expect an over the top experience. The rooms are clean, the staff is not the most knowledgeable/experienced but they were kind and as a traveler that has experienced the gamut, I've learned that patience under those circumstances goes a long way. The free breakfast was also a great plus. They serve eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast, juice and coffee, much better than the typical continental breakfast and in a pleasant setting. I recommend this Best Western highly for the person(s) driving the length of the state that needs a rest half-way.”

“The hotel room was dirty with trash in the bathroom and pizza parts in the room, the receptionist said that she will let the management know, that was it. The restaurant staff was not exactly friendly, although the food quality was fine. We need more smiles, this is the hospitality industry!”

• Very large rooms and queen size beds for double occupancy.
• My child injured herself on a carpet tack.

“The rooms were very large and comfortable. The beds were great. Nice court yard and pool. But my daughter stepped on an exposed carpet nail. When I called the front desk they seemed to not be so worried. They offered me a band aid. I asked to speak with a manager and never got a call back. I had to take her to the doctor. Very upsetting to my stay.”

• No problems, first room toilet overflowed, but they move me to a new room right away.

“I felt the hotel staff was friendly; the room was clean and well appointed. It was in close proximity to the business location that I was going to for a meeting. I would give best western consideration in the future when I need a hotel room.”

“Coffee given sparely for an l cup coffee maker. Closet open with no doors. Felt like I was in the 60's. Had planned a romantic getaway. No room service, no restaurant, free full breakfast was a buffet that ran out of food by 9am, did get l plate of scrambled eggs (made from a carton, not real). Specifically stayed at a hotel with a restaurant so as to have room service. Room service unavailable, (said they were not set up for it and would which was also the case with the food. "Free breakfast" was gone by 9am (served 6-9 only) and no other food available. Lady cooking, serving and cleaning was not accommodating or very friendly. Office staff also very unfriendly and almost rude. ”

“Reminds me of a 60's hotel that was big in the day. Terrible location on the freeway. The heater/ac was always set to heat - the adjustment was broken the ceiling fan was not centered and noisy - couldn¿t use it the lighting in the room was horrible the refrigerator in the room froze my food and drink.”

“The hotel is conveniently located just off highway 99, but would have been hard to find without my yahoo! Map & directions. The complimentary hot breakfast and nice service made up for a room with dark, grimy carpet and a sunken mattress.”

• Vintage Sixties Charm like a classic automobile.
• Bad Area, Decrepit Facilities, Difficult Access to good restaurants.

“If you enjoy old Sixties style motels with a quaint and slightly nostalgic feel then this is for you. This place must have been stupendous at one time but now needs a facelift. The grounds are still rather pretty.”

• Full breakfast meal was good-portions to small for a young man like myself.
• The breakfast buffet was confusing to "use", but staff eventually helped me. The portions were too small for me.

“I was only at the hotel for one night and it was fine. I could not find an adequate hotel in this price range in Clovis, so I chose Best Western. I would recommend this hotel to friends.”

• The central garden is nice and free wireless connections.
• First room sent to had not been made up. Very inconvenient.

“I regularly stay at Sheratons, Hiltons, Radissons, and the like. This does not compare and I kept expecting cock roaches to appear. I will say the central garden area was large and nice for kids to run around in. I didn't use the pool, but it appeared well kept (from a distance). The rooms were not cool enough.”

“This hotel is terrible. The location is in an awful area. The pool was closed. I and filled with murky water. The room was disgusting. The furnishings were cheap and falling apart. The bathroom door didn't latch and the faucet didn't work correctly. The shower provided only a weak dribble. ”

• This room did have a refrig, & microwave. Is was also a nice large room.
• It wasn't near any nice places to eat. It didn't have indoor corridors which are safer for woman traveling alone.

“This motel was in need of some maint. work, the water handles were backwards, hot water came out the cold side, and cold water came out the hot side in shower/tub area. This is an older facility.”

• The room was large and clean, but I felt it was very expensive for the service I received and couldn't use the phone, the free breakfast was great!
• Delapidated carpeting, rude night host, couldn't use the phone without a deposit even with my calling card, it was to overpriced and the hotel rundown.

• It was a nice surprise to have free breakfast and the room was very spacious.
• This hotel looked very sketchy/scary from the outside. It didn't seem to be in a very good neighborhood.

“Overall it was fine for the price (especially for a holiday weekend). The neighborhood was not the best and the hotel looked very scary from the outside (though the courtyard area inside was very pretty). The room was very spacious and clean,and there was a nice free breakfast provided the next morning.”

• I was able to use the wireless internet for free!!!! I could email event info before it was finished with my trip.
• The surrounding neighborhood was a little less appealing than I would have liked.

“This hotel was very clean, there was no smell of stale cigarettes, The room was spacious and the staff was kind and efficient. There were no problems checking in or out.”

• The room we were in was under repair. They were installing new bathroom floors, this job was incomplete at the time of rent the room.

“The hotel is an older hotel in the area. For the maintenance of the grounds, this area needed more care. The leaves from the trees would be tracked into the room. The staff worked with us for the delay in our check in. We were to arrive on Thursday, but arrived on Friday. They gave us one of their rooms that was not completed (under repair). These rooms were paid for in advance. and they should have given us better rooms for our stay. I had to hear about this all weekend from my wife, do you know what I mean?”

“I do not recommend this hotel. It is old and not maintained. The bathroom walls were cracked and needed painting. The carpet is old and looks dirty. Not much selection on the TV. Bed was very uncomfortable. Bed was hard in some places and too soft in other places.”

“The hotel was horrible; let me say it again horrible. We drove for 3.5 hours on Friday night from LA to Fresno about 3-3:30 AM. First there was an energy fee that we had to pay ($3 a day no big deal ) they had no king size bed (no big deal we settled for queen) and then in the room the carpet was rundown and dirty. In the bathroom both the shower and the sink were clogged. We were too tired to go back so we changed our room the next day. A little better but not much improvement. Called the service desk at 9:00 PM for extra pillow and did not get a pillow.”
