• Outside room entry, more private, good size casino onsite, good food.
• Semi-difficult parking arrangements on weekends.

“We very much enjoyed our stay at Lakeside Hotel & Casino. We got a good room with a private balcony, odd bathroom but it was nice, and clean. Having the casino right there was convenient when we didn't feel like leaving, the restaurants too. We enjoyed a few sports games in the bar, along with a chicken crispers appetizer that isn't quite what you'd expect it to be, but tastes great. Great place to stay.”

• Its a very good price as any of the lesser hotels in South Tahoe.
• All in all its an OK hotel.

“A nice older hotel easy to find and the hotel of choice for the rat pack while they were in South Tahoe. Nice cozy fireplace and everything was clean. It's a nice upgrade from a 1 star to a 2-1/2 star hotel.”

“For starters the Lakeview has no view of the lake! It was exceedingly dated and overpriced for the area. I felt like I had stepped into a time machine and had gone back to the 70's. The best thing about this hotel was leaving it to find different accommodations for the next night!”

• Good staff, good location for walking around Tahoe.
• Older hotel, needs updating.

“Good hotel for staying in, has good amenities, needs some cosmetic updating, otherwise not a bad place for the money spent. Restaurant was not bad, some odd appetizers like buffalo chicken wantons, breakfast was similar to a good Denny's, good eats, but not really fancy. However, you can easily walk down the street to other fantastic restaurants. Great location for walking around Tahoe, not far from the downtown South Lake Tahoe area.”

“Rented two rooms through. Rooms were fairly small and in disrepair. Would have liked to see microwave and/or small fridge in rooms. Cover plate of shower head was loose, shower head was hard to manipulate. Ice machine was on the first floor.”

• Away from the casino it was very quiet. The rooms had all the amenities I needed.
• It was part of a casino that had smoking in the main rooms.

“Nice place to stay on the Nevada side of the lake without being in a gigantic casino hotel. Smaller casino had a more locals atmosphere. In a quieter setting than the big hotels but still centrally located.”

• Staff was friendly. Breakfast was great. Room was decorated interestingly. It was big with a big screen TV.
• There was no internet connection.

“Great location. Very nice staff. The room was decorated nicely with furniture made of wooden logs. Pool wasn't very clean. Overall, I am very happy with the hotel.”

• Clean rooms, cute furniture, excellent restaurant, casino, and friendly registration staff.
• Entry way to our wing looked a little shabby.

“We enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised. Tahoe hotels are very pricey, but we were happy with Lakeside Inn Casino because of the attached casino, excellent restaurant and clean, nicely furnished rooms. A bonus for us was that it was within walking distance to the larger casinos, so we didn't have to move our car.”

“Seemed known smoking areas were really not and smell was bad. Full smoke breakfast special in the cancer ward area $2.99 and $3.99 in supposed less smoke area.”

• The hotel was conveniently located.
• Hotel smelled like carpet cleaner and other chemicals. The room was cramped and worn.

“Considering the area this hotel is located, I had much higher expectations. The rooms were small and the air was filled with a strong odor of carpet cleaner and other chemical cleaners. The hallways are narrow and the overall facilities, minus the swimming pool were worn and tired. The hotel staff was friendly and I applaud their efforts.”

“If holiday inn is 2 stars this should be 1 star. Mainly based on room interior and decor. Too dark makes it gloomy. But friendly staff, they try to please customer, good location. But too dark and old gloomy feel when in hotel room. Ants in bathroom kept kids away from bathroom¿”

“The rooms are small and not clean. The casino staff are slow and rude. There are better hotels in the South Lake Tahoe area that are closer and have better service. The one positive is the $8.99 prime rib dinner.”

“My husband and I had stayed here 5 or 6 times in the past 10 years and have always had good experiences. This is not a high end or luxury hotel, but simple, and we always thought it had nice character. This trip we stayed for our 6th anniversary. The restaurant was just mediocre (had a truly awful $9 glass of Pinot Noir) and the incessant cigarette smoke seemed worse than usual. The biggest problem however, was finding bugs in our bed. Yes, that is right! There are rustic branch headboards and we noticed some little sawdust piles at the top of the sheets. We did not pay too much attention until we pulled the sheets down to find about 10 little live bugs between the sheets throughout the bed. They looked like weevils, but the manager said they were termites. Here is the killer: the manager said that about 80% of their new headboards were delivered infected with termites. Do not know why she would tell us that, or why they had not been ripped out and replaced before customers slept in those beds, but we were given another room. The only one available was for handicapped in another building and had no bathtub. Therefore, we moved ourselves, at 11pm, in a snowstorm, to the new room (thoroughly checking the headboard and sheets for any signs of infestation)! They did offer to help us move, but we did it ourselves. We were given two $10 certificates for the restaurant that we used for breakfast the next two days (could only use 1 a day!). Never again will we stay at Lakeside Inn!”

• The food in the Timberlake restaurant was very good.
• The person at the counter was difficult to deal with.

“This was a good hotel, however, the front desk staff was a bit difficult. The rooms were nice, nice artwork on the walls, a little old looking on the inside though. The restaurants were good and they have $2.00 drinks all the time, which was great. They offer lots of discounts on attractions, just make sure you ask long before you check out or you will have issues dealing with the staff and people who book the events/attractions.”

• was put in a smoking room--not happy about it!

“While the hotel was in an OK location, the reservation desk supervisior was not helpful in finding a room for us that was non-smoking (due to an error in the # of people staying in our room - 4. While the room was OK, not what I would have chosen for my family and children. Probably would not recommend this hotel to others based on the price I paid and the knowledge that there are nicer hotels in this category available in the South Lake Tahoe region.”

• Room smelled musty!!!! Not a lot of room. Pretty old. Average at best.

“Average at best. Overpriced but I guess everything in Tahoe is overpriced relative to lodging rates. Bar and Casino were pretty good. Rooms and facilities were old and food was average. Also it is down the road on the Nevada side compared to everything else. (Harrah's, Harvey's, etc.) Not too bad with a car but it would be a pretty fair walk to make every day.”

• Very nicely kept pool area (water temperatures were perfect).
• My son received two insect bites while sleeping in his room.

“Clean rooms, nice beds that offer good support for those with back issues. The pool area is well kept with perfect water temperatures in the the pool and jacuzzi. Nice breakfast offerings in the restaurant with outstanding prices. Beach access to a private beach is nice with a nice snack bar and beach toy rentals. However, you have to drive to the beach because it is not onsite. Parking in the hotel lot is tough. They need more spaces.”
