• Close to heavenly Ski area Gondola.
• Noisy and not very clean room. I had to request another room which they provided.

“The Horizon is a Lake Tahoe casino hotel that is a very good value. Convenient for skiing at Heavenly, there is a movie theater in the casino. The casino floor is small but lively. I've been going up there with my son since he was 13. We always stay at the Horizon”

• The location was great. Walking distance to most of the major attractions in South Lake Tahoe.
• The bathroom was small.

“It was a major holiday and the lobbies and elevators were crowded. The check in lines were quite fast and staff was polite. The view from the room was very nice. The sheets were not fitted and the bathroom was small but otherwise the room was comfortable.”

• valet services heated waiting area (outside) were nice. The Josh's restaurant was a little pricey but food was excellent!

• Location in downtown Tahoe.
• Some of the staff was rude.

“Not bad, reasonable facilities, great show, good dining at the buffet. The buffet had excellent service but the front staff was rude, absolutely worst experience in regards to getting checked in but other than that, the hotel is pretty good.”

• Great location and it surpassed my expectations.
• The restaurants run down and pricey.

“I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is old but it's clean, not too expensive and the rooms were clean. The location is excellent. You can want to everywhere in the South Tahoe, which is what I wanted. I was surprised because other people here did not give the hotel a good review. The staff was efficient and friendly.”

• Location was its only plus, and the pool looked nice, although we didn't use it.
• The room smelled like smoke and the beds were terrible.

“It was a terrible hotel. The casino was terrible (even though we won) it was dirty, the room wreaked of smoke (even though it was non smoking) and the beds were literally like sleeping on the floor. I hope I can save someone's a sleepless night, don't stay here!”

• No crowds.
• Check in not friendly, dirty room, hard bed, hard pillows.

“This is a run down shabby hotel. There were several things that need fixing. The elevator doors got stuck half way open, you had to force them to open. The door to the closet would not slide, the bedside lamp did not work the iron did not work. Only 1 bar of soap had to share between the shower and sink. Would not stay here again.”

“We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the concert at Harvey's. The location is great - close to the beach, close to action, etc. I have stayed in many hotels and this one is not good.”

• It is smoky but that is to be expected at a Nevada casino.

“The hotel pool is quite nice. The hotel is very convenient to all things to do on south shore, as well as to Zephyr Cove, which was a wonderful place to swim in the lake. The hotel is a casino, so is smoky. The beds were not the most comfortable, but the room was clean.”

• They gave us a suite which I did not really expect.
• The bed was not comfortable and the blanket was dusty.

• I liked the smoke free room and the Jacuzzi, as well as the location in Tahoe.
• When walking through the lobby, we were assaulted by the smell of smoke.

“We have stayed at the Horizon Hotel in Tahoe before and have come back to revisit because the hotel is clean, the service is friendly, it has a pool and Jacuzzi.”

• We liked the casino and proximity to hiking and outdoor activities.
• Restaurants were not the best.

“This hotel was fine for our trip. We only stayed one night, but we had a lot of fun. The room was clean, we got a paper in the morning and the staff gave us an extra 30 minutes for late checkout. Overall a great trip.”

• Knowingly rented room with fresh vomit.

“This hotel is subpart for Tahoe Casino hotels. Rooms and bedding are equal to Motel 6. Asked adjoining rooms with friends. Had to wait additional 45 min (4:00 PM) to check in. Our room had fresh vomit in middle of carpet. Odor not masked by spray. No other adjoining rooms. With persistence we were given larger room of Motel 6 quality on another floor as our friends.”

• Conveniently located.
• Smelly room, loud neighbors, unresponsive staff.

“The hotel itself is about what you not expect from an older place. The room was not properly cleaned/prepped for us. We had noisy neighbor, called front desk repeatedly, they did nothing. We got no sleep, finally gave up and left at 5 AM. The casino manager said the hotel manager would contact us later, but of course, never did. It was a nightmare and they did not care.”

“This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The room looked like it has not been painted in a decade and the security latch was in-operable. The room stunk and actually the entire hotel did as well. I found left behind clothing made up into the bed and there were hairs on the pillows. The place was a disaster.”

“The horizon has a friendly staff, you get a newspaper in the morning, the pool is colder then the lake has a really long hall way from each tower. All in all great hotel.”
