• Free wireless internet service is a plus.
• Rooms condition at the old building are not very good.

“This is the first time I stay at the new building across the street from the old building and found the condition is must better and cleaner. Location is just a few minutes to the beach for the best spot to enjoy Labor Day firework.”

“This hotel is clean and has an attentive staff. It is in a very convenient location to the South Shore action and an easy walk to the beach. Parking was free and adequate.”

• The location was excellent for proximity to the casinos at South Shore.
• The towels were thread bare, and basically, looked like a hotel that you would find in a ski area.

• Blankets on bed were old and was unable to take a bath.

“The staff was fine; the mattress were good (brand new); however, the door would not stay opened; the tub did not have a plug to take a bath; and light bulbs on lamps were not put on till the next day. The blankets were old and the one next to the sheet was actually quite dingy. I would recommend that they change the old blankets and comforters; fix the tubs, make sure the bulbs are in.”

• Extremely friendly and accommodating staff, gave me updated room, great location.
• Older rooms very run down and smell like smoke.

“This was much better than I expected. Owners/staff were very friendly and accommodating. When my original room smelled like smoke, they upgraded me to a newly refurnished room that was much nicer with new carpets/bathroom fixtures/etc. Grounds were also very clean and well maintained. Great pool/Jacuzzi. Could walk to all casinos plus stores/busses. Great experience for the price.”

“The location is great and they allow pets which is its best feature. It is also clean but the bed was very uncomfortable. I would stay again because we can take our dog and the price is reasonable.”

• The young Indian woman at the front desk was extremely pleasant and hospitable.
• Everything met my expectations.

“It is within a 2 minute walk of Stateline, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I spent 95% of my waking hours outside of the hotel room, so for my needs, it was perfect. The staff was extremely courteous and very attentive to my needs.”

• The man at the front desk was very nice. They didn't kick you out right at check out.
• The room smelled of cat urine, throw up, and filthy feet.

“This is a nice older motel. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. It's located close to everything in South Lake Tahoe.”

“The room was small with two queens stuffed inside. The fire alarm hanging from the ceiling with wires exposed, closet door wouldnt shut, broken decor, torn chair! Just a honorable sight in a drug movie room 153. Not a family friendly room. For this family trip!”

“This was great for just a quick night stay, shower and bed after snowboarding and skiing. The best part was the people who managed the place. Very nice, friendly and did what they could to give correct information and help. I traveled with my teenaged son and daughter, so it was good for us. They seemed to be family friendly as their own children where there and a joy to be around. We would stay there again, just would ask to make sure the shower is rinsed after cleaning.”

• The hotel is conveniently located.

“The hotel is about what you would expect for the price. The staff is pleasant, however not too friendly. The walls are thin and early morning activity in the hotel woke us up. I would stay at Roadway again in the future.”

• Bed was extremely uncomfortable. We found a couple of bugs in the bed. Bitten by one.

“My wife won't stay there again. Ever! I liked the price and location, but she was spooked by the bugs. The bed was awful! Very bad.”

“Inside room lighting was only by neon bulbs of the lowest quality and output. It was not possible to read inside the room at night as the room was too dim. Also it was difficult to change clothes because you could not find your clothes in the dark. In the daytime was OK because if you opened the windows you could see. Also somebody vomited on the entrance to the lobby. The vomit remained for several hours and in fact had not been cleaned by the time I left at 9 am.”

• It was in lake Tahoe.
• It was dirty, had no clock, no remote, it blew. Completely.

“Reminiscent of the seedy motels one might find in a horror movie, the Rode way Inn in South Lake Tahoe is poorly spent. End of review.”

• It was dirty, oven didn't work , the floor was very dirty , the bed was very uncomfortable, didn't sleep very well.

• Roadway Inn met my needs: easy access to casinos. Staff was friendly & helpful. I felt secure.
• Although a non smoking hotel, the first room I got smelled strongly of smoke. They gave me another room. The bed cover was worn.

“Positive experience overall. It was an easy stroll to a private beach which I could access with my room key card. Also an easy stroll to the casinos. The continental breakfast was modest, but adequate.”

• We liked nothing about it. The place is a dump and overpriced.
• A throwback to the 70's. Well overdue for a renovation.

“This was a horrible experience. We are extremely angry. When we arrived in Tahoo, we saw nothing but vacancy signs at ALL motels in the area. At $90 per night this was a very poor value and I was embarrassed to take my wife to this place. I have worked in a regional capacity for a major hotel chain for 15 years and know the business. I want my money back!”

• Instead of a boxspring & mattress, our room had two boxsprings. After our stay we really hurt!

“We do a lot of traveling in our business and had to stop in a hotel on our way back to Phoenix. We would not stay in a Rodeway Inn instead chose a Comfort Inn. We expect a clean room and a good night's rest. That is impossible when you have to sleep on a boxspring. Horrible experience!!”

• The cleanliness, it was dirty from top to bottom.

“The place smelled like smoke, even though there were no smoking signs on all of the hotel room doors. The elevator was extremely slow. The doors on the hotel rooms were all scratched and looked like someone kicked them in. I paid for a two star hotel and got ripped off! If two star means that college kids hang around the place and party most of the night then this was definitely one star! The bottom of my car scraped the pavement on the way in because the parking lot if raised too steep above the street so when you enter the parking lot the bottom of the car will scrape. Loudly. My future in-laws thought we were exaggerating about these things until they saw the digital photos that we took in the morning. Oh and the vomit from the previous night was all over the parking lot because someone thought that it would just wash away, possibly with a garden hose. Nope, it was spread all over the parking lot, large chunks of Chinese foods were very distinguishable along with the rank smell of beer. I would not have my worst enemy stay at this place. The person at the front desk was accommodating but could not help us when we said we didn't want our money back but something better or that we would just go some place else. He offered us more towels and after a while he offered us the honeymoon suite. Never again will I use Priceline because of the terrible experience. I could have picked a better place by just driving up to South Lake Tahoe.”

“This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Don't do it! No matter what, there is something better available even if that means sleeping outside. Huge mold problem, zero amenities, and the pool and Jacuzzi should be avoided at all costs. Steer clear.”

• Handy cap parking was on the back, should have been by the elevator in the front.

“The room was not worth the money I paid. The paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom and the shower doors did not work. We had to cross the street to get our continental breakfast. The bed was hard as a rock. The handy cap parking was in the back parking lot, should have been by the elevator.”

• The scenery.
• Trolley service did not work and bed was not comfortable and the bathroom was not updated.

“It was father from the casinos then anticipated, and the Trolley service never came (this was one reason we choose this hotel) The stairs were under construction and it is hard to find your room, no signs. When we got there the one man show was not enough to handle all customers. The beds were stiff as a rock and the bathrooms were not updated and moldy.”

• Convenient, nice to have ironing board and hair dryer in room.
• The air conditioning wasn't working well on 3rd floor, no one could sleep, back ached in morning.

“Good location, walking distance to bike rentals, beach, restaurants ,casinos. Had a simple continental breakfast. 3rd floor too hot!”

• Lied to about billing, mislead about amenties. Wireless Highspeed internet is neither.

“Tried to bill my credit card for the full stay on the first night, even tho i was told i wouldn't be charged until i checked out. Continued to charge my card every day of my stay. Website is very misleading, makes the place look much better than it is. very basic, borderline dump hotel. list of amenities is NOT accurate. no iron, no microwave, no wireless internet, no movies, the list goes on and on. I will NEVER stay here again.”
