• Great customer service from Front Desk staff.
• On both mornings, Housekeeping staff used up a table in the already- small breakfast gazebo and GOSSIPED about each other.

“The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They gladly changed our room location and assigned us a room with a patio rather than a balcony (for easy access to the pool). They provided info regarding good restaurants nearby. Lastly, my husband was extremely grateful for the new batteries for the TV remote.”

• The location is perfect and surprisingly the pillows were great.
• The room is veer bare and generic.

“A great place for the price. Located just outside Solvang and of course the Pea Soup at the restaurant is a must. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were great. The room accommodated my husband and 12 & 15 year olds very comfortably.”

• Convenient location and less expensive than Solvang, but right on the highway. Was not, however, disturbed by road noise.
• This star level always seems a little grungy to me even though it was fairly clean.

• Easy location, close to solvang/cumash, quiet, friendly.
• Nothing (just that the remote for TV did not work).

“The location was easy, the duty person was friendly and told us about the morning continental breakfast, the room was very nice as we purchased this sight unseen and was very happy with what we received. We were close to a lot of different attractions. We are planning to use your service again. Besides everything was done in advance, so check-in was a breeze. Thank you.”

• Only flaw in stay was water standing on my patio area.

“Booked Three Non-Smoking Double Rooms. One Reeked Of Stale Cigarettes. Very Comfortable And Roomy Double Rooms With Two Queen Beds. The Outside Veranda Showed Banisters Weakened By Termite And Dry Rot. May Affect Safety If Child Pushed Against.”

• A little dated office; room was newly renovated.

“This hotel was easy to find, right off of the howdy 101. Continental breakfast in the gazebo next to the pool each is. Our handicapped room had a small refrigerator, microwave oven in a cabinet and an internet port on nightstand. Also a small table w/ two chairs, sliding glass door to the pool w/semi-private patio.”

“This is a very modest road rim hotel. Nevertheless, it's confidently located 5 min. From solving and 15 from wineries in the area. Room is clean, service is friendly (they gently gave me - as a gift - a wine opener) but installations are very simple. I really don't think it worth the (little) money, but probably you can't find something better for the same price. Ah, there is a carpet putting green in the middle of the courtyard. Don't' forget your putter!”

• Probably the best option for a room within a reasonable distance of Santa Barbara, that is affordable.
• I have nothing negative to say about it.

“The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. For an older motel, it was kept up well. I would choose to stay there if I were going to travel to that region again. The split pea Anderson restaurant is a landmark to people that travel California, and the soup was good!”

• The noise factor between walls and the dirty parking lot were a problem.

“This hotel was OK for just crashing after a hard days drive. Our room faced a very noisy and dirty garbage dumpster, and the parking lot was littered and unwelcoming. The continental breakfast was minimal, muffins and Danish, neither of which we can eat. The place where breakfast was served was the most pleasant thing about this hotel. The location was convenient and the room clean. They do have a problem with bugs.”

“I don't plan on staying at this hotel again. The bathroom in the hotel room could have been cleaner and the door to the room next to us was very squeaky, they had children going in and out all the time. I didn't like the location of our room.”

• The bathroom light was on a 3 minute timer and had to be constantly switched on .

• Our room smelled unpleasant--like it had been a smoking room and they had tried to cover the odor.

• The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. I was given a room that smelled like smoke, and was able to move immediately.
• The continental breakfast was not worth going to. Had to go out for breakfast.

“The hotel was convenient for the location near Solving and a good trip stop for LA. The hotel is nicely maintained and appears to be updated on a regular basis. The only real complain I would have is the continental breakfast, which is important to me, but may not be for other travelers.”
