• really nice staff, well trained. really, they are the only postive about my stay here.

“many long term construction type lodgers here. many smoke and there is cigarette smoke everywhere; just outside doors, windows and balconies. the landscaping is littered with cigarette butts. Even in the courtyard near the pool people smoke - it's strange, i have never been around so many smokers. also, i would not allow a single woman friend to stay here. many of the more permanent guests congregate outside, drink beer (smoke, of course), even the staff (not the front desk staff) joins in. The rooms are nice if dated and seemed clean, but you cannot open your window since cig smoke seems to be everywhere. I had to shut down the air con too since it sucked in smoke.”

• It was a beautiful room. Not just a place to sleep.
• Needed to be on the other side of it. So we wouldn't get morning sun light.

“I was not happy with the stay because there were kids running up and down the halls yelling all hours of the night, then at 2:30 am someone set of the fire alarms. No sleep.”

• The hotel was very quiet.
• The room was 50 degrees when we arrived, and in need of overall repairs.

“The hotel was adequate as far as cleanliness and a comfortable bed, and very quiet. The room was desperately in need of cosmetic repairs ceilings were yellowed, doors were very damaged, tub needed new fixtures and caulking, sliding door was damaged. The fitness center was far below adequate only one treadmill that was very old and rickety. The other machines were old and not in working order.”

• The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on.

“When I complained about the bed I was told that the desk would speak to housekeeping about it. My room was right next to the entry door, even though the motel was less than half full. This is a very old and run down hotel with an unusable outside pool and hot tub, a major attraction for me with all the driving I do.”

• The hotel was very quiet and relaxing. Room service was very good. The room was extremely large and well decorated. Had a private balcony.
• The maid left the security hook flipped so the door didn't completely close one day. I was fortunate that my laptop/DVD player was not stolen.

• The cleanliness, size of the rooms and outside decks.
• Front desk clerks need to be a little more friendly and helpful.

“The maintenance and housekeeping staff were exemplary—I was neglected to tell the front desk personnel that my sister and I were unable to climb stairs- A housekeeping supervisor saw us, offered to help us upstairs, when discovering that we both have disabilities he called and got us a ground floor room- He even took our room cards turned them in and a nice gentleman from maintenance delivered the new ones to us-- All done with a smile.

• Were allowed to have family visit with no hassle.

“Very comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, the room was clean/comfy but had a few small problems. No bath fan, light above tub burnt out and one lamp didn’t work. We had to ask for towels and coffee the second day and no service was offered the first (not even garbage removed) Other than that I would stay again and recommend.
”

• Dangerous area, I live here and know, but security adequate.

“The price was great as we were attending my son's wedding and had to stay late to clean up and did not want to drive the 20 miles home. It was very quiet and they secured the motel as best they could for the area. Facility is fine.”

• I liked the court yard and it was pretty quiet.
• Keycard didn't work on our room when we came back from dinner. Took a long time to get help.

“It was a fairly nice motel, big rooms. But the lock on the door wasn't flush and when we came back from dinner, we couldn't get in our room. It took them a long time to get us help making it very inconvenient for getting into our room.”

• Very convenient location right off the freeway.
• Very loud hallways and thin walls. No pay-per view.

“This hotel was easy to find right off the freeway. The hotel staff was very friendly helpful. The appearance of the room was pleasant and the bed's were actually very comfortable. There is a late check out which is always very nice to have and checking out was very easy. The only negatives were the walls were so thin that anytime someone was walking down the hallway, I could tell you the conversation they were having; not to mention that banging of their feet in the hall. There was no pay per view which was disappointing because I always like to watch a movie while traveling. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for over night stays.”

• Older fixtures & carpets, cobwebs on hallway chandelier.

“I stayed here a few years back when it was a Doubletree. It has really gone downhill since then. Doesn't appear to have been much maintained. In the past I was often able to pay a small fee to move up to a 2-bed room, but lately I find the hotels just won't budge on that, even when, as in this case, they were obviously nowhere near capacity.”

“When we first walked into the hotel for our check-in we were greeted by a smart and friendly girl who really knew what she was doing. Our rooms were ready and they were so comfortable. The overall design of the hotel was easy to get around in. The pool was right outside our hotel door. Every room on our side of the hotel had a slider door to the pool. It was relaxing and fun there. The restaurant was great too. Very clean.”

“If there is going to be Non Smoking rooms there should be rooms that have not had smokers. The room smelled of stale tobacco smoke.”

• The pool.

“We walked in and the room stunk of cigarette smoke and the slider out to the pool was open. When I complained about the room she stated that we were the 3rd person to state that their room stunk.”

• The hallways did not have enough light; the bathroom sink had only warm water; TV didn't work properly.

“I was put in a room at the end of a poorly lit hall, located over the laundry. The bathroom sink only had warm water. The TV turned itself off every 50 minutes or so. The restaurant food was fair, service marginal. The hotel was a place to stay, but I wouldn't plan on using it for anything intimate or extended.”

• They would not give us two beds.

“I had a really negative experience at this hotel and would not recommend it to others. The first room that my friend and I were given smelled very badly of smoke. When we asked to be moved to a different room and one with two double beds instead of one queen (normal request), we were told that that was not possible. They gave us a roll away bed for an extra $10, but did not even set it up for us. They just dropped it off at the door! And to make matters worse, the roll away bed was more like some sort of torture device than a bed! Every spring was poking out so much so that it was impossible to even sleep on it. I will absolutely not stay at this hotel again.”

• It was nicely decorated and very clean. The restaurant in the hotel had a delicious food and excellent service.
• The bottom sheet was too small for the size or the bed and there was not plug in the bathroom sink.

“This is a great place to stay while in the Yakima area. It has a swimming pool and restaurant with excellent breakfast. The room was decorated in an updated fashion and very clean.”

• The rooms were not all that great. Needed some deep cleaning.

“The Hotel was a in a nice location not hard to find. The staff was very friendly and helpful with what ever the circumstance. The Restaurant was expensive for the food that they served. Wonderful pool and hot tub. The hot tub jets did not work. The Rooms were comfortable. Need new beds, they were hard as rock. Not comfortable at all. The rooms were in departed need for some deep cleaning. Most of it was clean and comfortable. The carpet was stained and looked dirty, and shower needs some cleaning of some mildew. No convenient stores in location. Had to go several miles to get things from a store.”

“The Clarion in Yakima is an interesting beast. It was once a nice hotel---which it isn't any longer. It is bordered on at least two sides by trailer parks. They allow vagrants to habituate in front of the premises, and there are workers of questionable trades in the parking lot and directly across the street. Building maintenance has fallen into disrepair. It seems that some of the problems may be endemic to Yakima itself, and not necessarily this hotel. Regardless, it is in a very bad, very poor area. For travelers, I'd recommend staying in another city altogether. We had a very good experience in Kennewick.”

• Large room, with comfortable bed and furniture, desk, comfortable chair, clean, nice pool nearby, close to highway.
• The hot tub was cold, the lobby had a conference center feel to it.

• General appearance.
• This nonsmoking room had previously been a smoking room and the smoke odor was obvious. Wife had trouble sleeping.

“Other than the smoke, the hotel was acceptable.”
