• Great hotel. Rooms are good size and clean. Conveniently located near freeway.
• Swimming was not heated. The water was on the cool side.

  jacuzzi and pool very cold.

“Pool was heated but not to a temperature that kids could swim in. Jacuzzi was only luke warm. Walls to hotel room very thin could hear the coversation of the people next to us late into the night. Room wasn't very clean.”

“I find it remarkable that a hotel of this quality doesn't provide free Wi-Fi service. The restaurant (Formaggio) at the hotel was disappointing. Very slow service, small portions, and the food was mediocre at best.”

• Proximity to major highway.
• The first key did not work; the first room stunk.

“While the hotel was named Marriott, the room and the staff did not meet their standards. Initially the key did not work. I called to the front desk with the house phone to have security send a key up. I was told I had to go down to pick up a new key. Upon entering the room, the room had a strange smell, much like curry and spice smell. When the staff person moved to a different room, that the room had a smell. Rowdy, loud party in the ball room that I heard on the 6th floor.”

• The outdoor patio area is lovely with fountains and dining.
• The TVs were in the change over to digital.

“The hotel is due for a face lift, yet the comfy bedding overcame the outdated decor. I am looking forward to coming back and experiencing the renovation changes. My children and I had a lovely dinner in the hotel restaurant under the amazing wisteria arbor overlooking the pool.”

• Any time I had a concern they were quick to make amends. Even sending a pint of Haagen Daaz ice cream to our room! They were personable and kind.
• The bar in the lobby closed at 11pm and we got in from SFO late. Room service closed at this time also.

“Overall, we had an excellent stay and I was impressed with this Marriott. One note is the carpeting in the hallways looked unclean. They should consider if the bar closes early (11pm) that there is room service. Actually there was room service but they said it take a half an hour to bring two glasses of wine up to the room. We decided that we'd fall asleep by that time! We were also told that the bar closed at ten so we got to the room and called room service. We were misinformed about the closing times. The front desk staff was wonderful, especially the lady in the evening when we checked in.”

• I have loved all other stays at this hotel, but this time I was disappointed. I will explain below.
• The bed linens did not smell clean; bed smelled sweaty before we even got into it!

“This has in past been a 4 star hotel and we have repeatedly stayed here, but this visit (after last previous visit 6 to 10 months ago) was very disappointing. At first glance as you enter, the room looks 4 star, but then the shower/tub had mildew all around tub; the linens on the bed were not fresh in fact, they smelled like a gym, sweaty. Because of this, I barely slept that night, and now wonder if there might be new management and/or maids cleaning the rooms. Or is that hotel experiencing financial straits necessitating lower standards in room maintenance? I hope this was just a fluke experience and that last weekend's stay is not indicative of their new, lower standards.”

• Beautiful hotel; 95% of staff are excellent; room service terrific and on time; restaurant is fantastic; Bath body works toiletries.
• No refrigerator. Smoking section outside by the pool, but close to hotel. When I opened windows smoke came in room.

“The hotel is beautiful! Nice relaxing area out by the pool; except that the smoking section is close by and if the wind blows, you smell smoke. Restaurant was fabulous, try the chicken Benedict for breakfast! Only one staff member wasn't too helpful in searching for something my boss left last week. The rest were great. Only drawback was no refrigerator and/or microwave. There is a great Mexican taco/burrito joint on Sunrise behind Carl's Jr. Adalbertos. It's authentic, casual, great tasting and inexpensive.”

• The space if the room was ample. Loved the shampoo and soaps! Very nice.
• The bed was very uncomfortable.

“The hotel was perfect for the stressful trip that I was on- and interview. I enjoyed being able to check my Email in the business center. The room service was timely and it actually didn't break the bank. It was excellent to have a Starbucks right in the lobby- it saved me time before I had to be at my interview and the airport. Convenience of location, very centrally located.”

• We enjoyed not having to pay for parking at a Marriott hotel.
• The desk clerk did not know how to process our hotel reservation.

“We arrived after 11:00 pm, and were told all the restaurants were closed at the hotel, but we could go to a Dennys across the freeway. The clerk did not know how to process reservations. The ceiling in our room was badly painted. Very disappointing stay.”

• I liked the fitness room location. The staff was very helpful.
• I was disappointed with the food at the restaurant. Also, the pool was not heated and a bit dirty.

“Marriott in general maintains excellence, but this was one of the finer Marriott hotels I have visited in a while. When we arrived to find that we were assigned a room with double queens, within minutes our request to transfer to one with a king size was fulfilled. The room service was reasonably priced, delivered to our room in a matter of minutes, and tasted excellent. The business office was conveniently located and offered complimentary printing services which was appreciated. The facilities were clean and the housekeeping staff was discrete and efficient. Enough cannot be said for complementary, conveniently located parking options these days, I believe. Overall, my stay was excellent and I would definitely stay here again in the future.”

“This was my first visit to Sacramento so I hated the thought of "dinner at a hotel". I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant atmosphere, food was wonderful and waiter was friendly and recommended a great wine. This hotel will be my 'home away from home' during my visits to this area - would recommend this hotel to others.”

• Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Great desk chair.
• Internet access is $10 per day.

“The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. I liked that they included a reading area with chair, ottoman and lamp as well as a desk with a good work chair. I also made use of the free washer and dryer. However, I was dismayed to find that they charge $10 per day for internet access when most 2 and 3 star hotels offer that for free.”

• The hotel was nice; however, I believe that the Hampton is better.
• Marriot could use some of the home comforts as the Hampton offers. A free continental breakfast would be appreciated.

“This hotel is lacking in the atmosphere of comfort. It is elegant but most people stay in a hotel and just want to be pampered. The Hampton has wonderful comforters; the rooms are bright unlike the rooms at the Marriotts. The dark colors and dim rooms makes you feel like they are trying to hide imperfections or cleanliness. The breakfast for people who are traveling or on business trips should include a free continental breakfast for people who are in a hurry not just those who want to dine.”

“I was on a long road trip and had stayed at other hotel during this time and the staff here was border line rude. They acted like where I had purchased my stay on line that somehow I was a uninvited guest, if that makes any sense to you. I was surprised by the front desk attitude.”
