“I walked into the hotel to a lobby with a large fresh bowl of fruit awaiting me. I was checked in a very sweet, helpful young lady and walked towards my room. I opened the door to my room and see a nice, clean and welcoming room. The kitchenettes are well thought out with every comfort of home. We were very happy to have a DVD player with a decent selection of movies to choose from for free from the front desk. The pillow we ordered from the selection of 6 were delivered quickly and in such a friendly manner. Breakfast was unusually good with a large selection of cereals, toasts, oatmeal's and fruit. Great place!!”

“I have to small boys and they would not give me two bed so my boys slept on the floors that was not good at all others hotel will give you two bed if you have kids I think you really need to check into that.”

“Arrived late at night after house having flooded. Very compassionate to our plight. Requested a quiet room, and was upgraded to a suite to accommodate our request for quiet room. Kitchen very efficiently equipped. Decent continental breakfast. Limited, but nice landscaping. Warm and inviting lobby. Loved free washer and dryer, and computers in lobby. Plus free Internet in rooms. All were a godsend. In addition to cable, had a DVD player. Drinks/snacks very reasonably priced. Personnel VERY nice/helpful, particularly older night-desk clerk, and maintenance (Arnold?) worker. Overall, very clean.”

• The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

“This was an excellent hotel. The lobby was beautiful. Had to upgrade for $20 for 2 beds, but got a suite with king bed in one room, other room had queen bed with kitchenette, workspace with chair, and DVD player. There was even a bag of popcorn, granola bar, bottle of water and Starbucks coffee in the kitchenette. The beds were AWESOME! Bath and Body soaps and shampoos in bathroom--plenty of counter space. The breakfast was pretty scarce, but Starbucks coffee in lobby 24/7. There is a Mel's Diner in the parking lot. Free internet at business area, too. I would recommend this hotel again.”

• The entire hotel is non-smoking. They had free snacks, great breakfast, free computer with internet access in lobby.
• Nothing.

“This hotel is nicely decorated with modern furniture, very nice bedding, small kitchen stocked with a few free snacks, and with a DVD player in each room. There are two computers in the front lobby with free internet. There was a very nice breakfast in the morning and Starbucks coffee.”

• The proximity to the venue I was visiting and to shopping/restaurants.
• The "Grab & Go" breakfast was not the best. Bagels were hard.

“The hotel is in the middle of renovating some things but the room was great. I LOVED the feather topper on the bed and the feather pillows. I also loved the Bath and Body Works products. Nice touches. Would definitely love to stay there again, especially once they get it all done.”

• The location to Sac State was great-1 mile away
• They were doing construction

“It was fine if they weren't doing construction on it. I also ended up having to pay another $20.00 for two beds. I wasn't aware of this when I booked it. They told me that was their policy. Now I'm wondering when I stay in San Diego at a hotel if this will happen again. ”

• excellent accomodations with refrigerator and kitchen.
• Called hotel for a room with two beds. They did not tell me that there was a charge until I got there.

“When I called the hotel to make special arrangements for bed types, they said that they would call me back immediately after I gave my phone number. They never called back. I rate the front desk was poor.”

• They did not have our two rooms reserved,only one;remodelling going on; scaffoliding outside window didn't make it feel safe to keep window open;

“Generally o.k., once they could find us another room - but I had reserved two, and they had no record of the second one. The room(s) were confortable, spacious. They have a "get up and go" breakfast available, but did not have the time listed and it was closed when we went to get it at 9 a.m. on Monday, Memorial Day. It's location is convenient to food and the University. ”

• The small amenities such as coffee (Starbuck's),shampoo etc. were of good quality.
• I asked for the quietest room but was put on the first floor with an air conditioning unit that woke me up every half hour--very noisy!

“The concept of the suite is great esp. for families. Nice little breakfast in the morning, very nice laundry area. The air conditioner noise was terrible (about 3 ft. away from the bed) and the staff did not honor my request for a room change. I was wiped out at work the next day from lack of sleep.”

• Hotel staff were very accomodating. The hotel is going through a remodel and the staff made every attempt to minimize the impact.
• Needs renovation completed. Matress felt old, broken molding in bathroom, plugged tub. limited cable, extremely high in-room movie prices, no pool.

“I think it might be a better place to stay once the renovations are completed. I think the definition of the rooms being "suites" is a stretch. I think of a suite as having defined spaces. These "suites" are basically a motel room with a cook-top added and a refrigerator. I wondered if I got the rate I did because the hotel was in renovation and they are trying to keep occupancy up during the work. Great staff! Quick responses to needs or requests. Has potential.”

“This hotel is formerly the Candlewood Inns which is known more for long-term stays rather than overnights. The idea is great. Every room has a kitchen which is great if there is time to plan, but just takes up space if you are getting there late and leaving early. A kitchen also creates more opportunities for odd noises. (Ever had a refrigerator in your bedroom before? They are not quiet in the middle of the night.) The staff is always extremely gracious and more than willing to help with any need. They are very agressive in their service, too, not just waiting around to be asked. They usually have a vending area with food and just about any other necessity for very reasonable prices.Overall, I love these hotels. This one is a bit off the beaten path, but great if somneone wants to stay more than one night in a city.”

“Hotel will soon be undergoing a major renovation. There is no business center, and I would like to see healthier breakfast options. The nearby restaurants are average. The health center is minimal, no pool, though there is a sauna.”

“Although pleased with the kind treatment I received from the staff of the Larkspur Landing Hotel, I find it reprehensible that they, once again, charged me an extra $20 over and above the price I bid for a room. This happened about one year ago in Silicon Valley as well. I would respectfully request that if the Larkspur Landing continues this practice, that y'all stop doing business with them!! ”

“An excellent value as a 2.5* property. Quite similar to Embassy Suites model, though no hot breakfast (cold selections only). Restaurants nearby. Downtown fairly accessible via Fair Oaks. A great location for those needing to be at the University. Large rooms, though the lighting could have been better. Complimentary Internet access. Large towels (4) in bathrooms with shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Extremely helpful and courteous staff.”
