• No shower cap; previous guest leave her nightgown in the bathroom; lack of attention to detail.

“For one night the hotel was fine; we stay in Arden Way about once a month to visit my mother who is in a nursing home. The Doubletree is the best out of the ones - Radisson, Red Lion ,etc. So we're always happy to be at the Doubletree.”

• Comfortable beds, Clean and Quiet.
• TV is old. Long uneven drive through parking lot to the back.

“Overall nice hotel. Huge property. Long uneven drive through parking lot to the back. Caught a AC/DC tribute act here, band name Riff Raff. They were awesome. The price was right. If prices were higher in Sacramento, I would cancel business up there. Golf, restaurants etc. would lose business.”

• They served warm cookies.
• It's obvious the hotel is old and needed updating 10 years ago.

“When I walked in the room, I was very disappointed. The carpet was worn, the chair and ottoman didn't match (and it is not the intended design). I called the front desk to ask for a room with one bed (I was not provided.) I was quickly and not very politely told there were none available. Strange, there was no way she could have checked. The linens were nice though. Too bad the divot in the center of our bed was deep enough to fall into.”

• The professionalism of the staff, the conditions of the room.
• That I only had to stay for one night.

“The check-in staff, was very professional, quick, and friendly. The ease of getting to the room was excellent with more than one entrance. The room was perfect size, finely-appointed, and quiet. Everything in great working order, next time I will be in the pool. The room service was early and very polite.”

• It was clean, attractive in curb appeal, spacious room, and modern. It's pool setting also appeared inviting.

“It is modern, well-maintained, with large rooms and many to choose from over a large spread of wings on large grounds. You're greeted w/the nice touch of 2 packaged, hot cookies upon check-in by attentive desk help.”

• The guest rooms are roomy, comfortable, and nicely decorated.
• No option to extend just one of the two rooms booked.

“The Double tree Sacramento is the best property I have found in the area. The accommodations and service exceed other properties in the area. It will be our personal choice when in the area from now on.”

“This hotel is definitely geared to the business traveler. There were many conference rooms, and a large business center. They were not interested in serving a family. The room we were in had worn carpet and furniture, but I think others were better.”

• Location and the bed was very comfortable.

“I didn't spend much time there other than sleeping and the bed seemed very comfortable. I think you need to put flat screen TV's in all the rooms. It seems like that is really popular in nice hotels now. I liked the convenience of being next to the mall. We were able to walk there very easily and since it was closer to Christmas it was better walking there then trying to find a parking spot.”

• Will not stay again because no free internet, La Quinta even has free internet. Poor TV reception with very few channels.

• The ice machine was broken and I had to go down a floor and a long hall to get ice.

• Looks like it has been newly renovated - very nice!
• The ice machines on all floors of our wing didn't work.

“Very pleasant and park-like grounds made our stay very relaxing. The rooms look to have been very newly renovated in very tasteful colors and materials. The only negative was that the floors seem to transmit a lot of noise, so I could hear the people upstairs walking around. I'm sure the neighbors below us heard my kids running around too.”

• It's location was central to the places I was visiting.
• The carpet in the room was in need of cleaning.

“It is centrally located but the furniture is old and scruffy. However, the bed was extremely comfortable and plush.”

• The cookies.
• Extra charge for the Internet, not being able to get a room with 2 beds.

“The hotel room was nice and what we expected for a 3 star hotel. We had hoped to upgrade to a room with two queen beds, however that was not possible. The check in took forever, but the cookies were great. Still can't figure out why 3 star hotels charge for internet but 2 star hotels do not.”

• They have a great duck pond.
• It was huge! A bit of a hike to get to reception from our room.

“This hotel was dirt cheap and fabulous. Plenty of space for kids in the room, very clean, great duck pond, exercise facility, restaurants, and right next to the mall and the freeway. It couldn't have been more convenient.”

• The pool was nice, that's about it!
• Staff, felt unsafe in hotel room.

“Staff was terrible, we tried to check in a little early and room wasn't ready which was fine, we were told to return at check in time which was 3:00 pm, we returned at 3:30 pm and room still wasn't ready and they couldn't tell us when it would be ready, I called from my cell phone to speak to hotel manager and was told he would call me right back, waited 10 minutes in the parking lot with our air conditioner on and no one ever called back, we finally got our room at 4:15 pm with no apologies and the wing of the hotel we stayed in was dingy and you could tell that someone had tried to break into our room before because the wood had been splintered right by the lock as if someone was prying it open! Terrible experience, would never go back.”

• Beds/comforters were great, really comfortable.
• Check in was a disaster, waited for 45 minutes.

“Rooms were comfortable, clean and nice. Beds were especially good, when I had a problem with the TV remote, they fixed it quickly. Biggest issue was that check in was a disaster. We had to wait 45 minutes to check in. Huge line, not enough people and everyone was really inefficient, even a bit unfriendly.”

“Definitely a first class place to stay. Central location with Restaurants and shopping close by. The beds were supposed to be queens but looked like twins. Bed was to soft for me, felt like I was sleeping on cotton balls. Overall for the price it was still a fair price.”

• The bathroom floor wasn't spotlessly clean.

“We were given a "late arrival," and when we did arrive at 11:30'ish, we were given cookies and quick service. The room was very nice and accommodated our 1-night stay. The bed was comfy, loved the Neutrogena bathroom products, and it was very quiet.”
