• Wonderful bedroom (bed, TV and TV package, bathroom and view).
• In room WiFi was impossible and had to pay extra for parking.

“This hotel is a great romantic travel destination for a couple visiting the state capitol and is as well a sure way to show you traveling work force their importance. Staying at the Sac Sheraton is a luxurious experience.”

• Restaurant was very good.
• Coffee shop was not open.

“Hotel is nice but needs carpets need to be cleaned. I checked in at 6:00 p.m. and the hallway on my floor was dirty. Coffee shop was not open so I had to go to the restaurant. Coffee was definitely overpriced. Hotel staff were very nice.”

“Great location! Staff was very friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable! Kudos! The only complaint I have is that the walls were thin and I could hear the conversation in the next room, but my husband slept through it so it obviously didn't affect him!”

• Spacious rooms, work space, and views are perfect.
• Parking across the street in inclement weather is a hassle.

“Conveniently located, quiet, and large spacious hotel rooms make for a very comfortable stay. The window seat overlooking downtown Sacramento was a nice plus, and breakfast was delivered on time with some nice extras. Highly recommend!”

• Perfect location for seeing a play at the Community Theatre.
• Walls are too thin you can hear every noise coming from the hallway.

“Very nice bar/lounge area. If you are going to get a good nights sleep you might want to pass this hotel by. You can hear every noise from the hallway. Every door closing anytime someone talks in a normal voice you can hear them very clearly. The staff is very nice and helpful.”

• Very convenient to restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
• The staff was not very knowledgeable about their surroundings.

“I was a little upset that the gift shop was closed and I needed something imediately. I was sent out looking for a place myself to get what I needed that could have been found in a hotel gift shop. And no one knew where was the closes store.”

• We enjoyed the dinner at the Bar. Service was excellent.
• Not a very warm or inviting place, sterile.

“The service was good at check-in. The bar service was great. The overall feel is very cold and sterile. In the morning the fire alarm went off while I was in the shower, they did a good job of keeping us informed and letting us know it was a false alarm.
”

• The staff was courteous & professional.

“Other than having to go on a search for help to get our car out of valet parking at 4 in the morning all went well. Checking in was smooth and pleasant. The valet staff was very nice. The early morning front desk staff did, however, make it a point to be scarce. And you almost feel as if you are inconveniencing him when asking for help. Everyone else was really great.”

• Kind bed was way too short and I'm only 5'5", same floor as large group that parties until 5a.m.

“The hotel itself was very nice, clean, huge fitness room, central location, but the bed was too short for me, I'm only 5'5" and we seemed to be the only guests on our floor not part of the group that was partying until 5a.m.”

• The parking was really expensive.

“I really enjoyed staying here. It was a good experience overall. Our room was spacious and the bedding was really comfortable. The bed itself was a little on the hard side but not to the point where it turned me off. I really enjoyed the window seat and the flat screen TV, although you couldn't swivel it and it was in front of one of the beds. There is an excellent deli across the street. The hotel is pet friendly but watch out for the parking $25/night valet or $13/night parking garage across the street.”

• No onsite parking, not knowledgeable valet staff.

“Good value, smallish rooms, friendly staff, had to ask for sewing kit, shower cap, and cotton balls, but they were delivered when requested. Outside valets and greeters were not very helpful - did not respond to our need for a taxi in a timely manner. We waited for 10 minutes for a taxi.”

• Finally, a hotel that capitalizes on the corner room with an extra window--two great views from our room on the 20th floor.
• They don't have ice and vending on every floor--one or the other. When I asked staff where to buy a soda, I was given a completely wrong answer.

• Pool closed. Why close a pool in Aug. this is crazy.

“We had several family members staying at this hotel. Food was good. Parking costly but expected. Very disappointed that the pool was closed. I was amazed the hotel would choose to do remodeling in Aug, while kids are out of school. Why not put this off a month. This really put a damper on some of our family plans. Staff was nice about it but it did not change the situation.”

• Everything cost extra!

“This is a great hotel for a romantic getaway or just a short vacation. But for the money, I would recommend a room a little nicer than the king room. I would rate the king room more of a 3 star hotel room. And this is considered a 4 star hotel, so for those unfamiliar, bring extra cash, because everything has a price tag. Other than that the hotel was wonderful and perfectly located in the heart of downtown Sacramento. Everything is only a short walk from the hotel, so a car is not even necessary.”

• Reasonably well-located.
• Asked for linen, change on three separate days and it was never done.

“It was ok. Well located near the convention center and downtown. Super shuttle to and from airport every thirty minutes. Restaurant was nice. I had called down each night of my three night stay, asking for a linen change the following day. Though I was told it would be done, as we change our sheets each day, with each of my requests becoming more direct with each failure to do the linen change as not only promised as routine, but requested as well, my linens were never changed. Terrible.”

• Beautiful hotel within 2 blocks of CA capital buildings.
• Parking across the street.

“I love this hotel. It is a great downtown location within easy walking distance of the Capitol. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with a 42" plasma TV. Parking across the street is a little inconvenient but not insurmountable. I will definitely stay here again.”

• The pillows & bed were great.
• Charging for internet is ridiculous.

“This is a very nice hotel. Parking a bit inconvenient & expensive at $13/day and a half block away. Room was not cramped and had a nice view of the city. Shower was excellent. I like convenience, though, and it is more convenient for me to have free internet in my room and be able to fetch my own carrying rack for my luggage. But I was forbidden to do so unless a bellboy was attached. This adds extra charges because you feel obligated to tip. Having to go to the lobby for free internet was also very inconvenient. You have to pay $10/day for internet in your room.”

• No extra blankets in room, dirty coffee cups, tiny pool and no hot tub.

“The staff was very nice, the hotel lobby and restaurants were nice. The room was a good size with a great flat panel TV. They put us in a lower room so we had a view of the restaurant roof. The coffee cup lids were dirty, but they did have individual size packets of Starbucks Coffee and some tea. I have recently stayed in a few really nice 4 star hotels and this wasn't quite as good as the others and I had to pay more for it. The pool area was tiny and had no hot tub. But the gym was incredible. It is in walking distance to a mall but you have to walk through an interesting area to get there (it's worth driving to the Arden Fair Mall and not walking to this one). Just beyond the mall is the Old Town Sacramento with the Railroad Museum. The Capital also is just a couple blocks from the hotel. Parking was very expensive. It was a nice place to stay just not quite as great as I expected of a 4 star.”

• Parking is terrible, traffic bad on a weekend so probably worse on weekday.

“Overall the hotel is nice. I found the parking situation abysmal. The area to drop off in front of the hotel is tiny and many times people are forced to double park blocking the flow of street traffic. It also makes you feel rushed to get in and out of your car. The valet parking is at this same spot which congests things even more. I found the valet service terrible. First of all upon arrival I, as the driver (a female), was ignored and the staff chose to only address the male in the group (my father). This in my opinion is unacceptable and I told the hotel staff this. Although there was no indication that anything was ever done about it. On another instance, we called down to have our car brought around. We were advised it would be 15 minutes. After wait over 30 minutes we discovered that we were not even in the queue for pick up. Either the message had not been passed along by the person who answered the phone or? It took another 10 to 15 minutes for it to finally arrive. Again, terrible service. Be aware that there is major construction on the I-5 through Downtown Sacramento and this may cause some serious delays in getting around. Closures, detours and stopped/congested traffic are common place so give yourself plenty of time to get where ever you are going. Until construction is completed if you don't need to stay in the Downtown area I would avoid it!”

• The Lobby and Public Area's where nice.

“The staff was friendly and helpful, and the Lobby area was nice. But, the rooms are really lacking when it comes to being a 4 star Hotel. I could get the same type of room at a cheaper Hotel. Outside there was a lot of homeless people. Not a good place to take children, and probably not safe for a single female, especially at night. Ill be staying in a different location, next time I visit Sacramento.”
