• The sheets and pillows were pristine (a nice white damask stripe) and very comfortable.
• A third set of towels readily available would be nice in a room with two beds.

“The grounds and lobby were very neat, fresh and clean. The staff person was very friendly. The room was on the small side, but for a short stay that was not a problem. Nice, quiet location easily accessible to downtown and easy to find. The beds were nice and fresh with great pillows. Good number of entertainment options on the TV, though fairly cost prohibitive to order. Decent continental breakfast choices. We were quite comfortable and would definitely stay here again.”

• Overall it was clean, economical and close to the airport, which is why we chose it.
• There was a faint musty smell in the room. Only one wash cloth.

“Stayed at this hotel based on proximity to the airport and ease of getting on/off expressway. It met all our expectations, ease of checking in and the lady at the desk was very friendly and polite. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay as a crash spot before a day of traveling back home.”

“I was not very satisfied with my stay at La Quinta. The staff is rude. The elevator floors were disgusting, which made me feel like I was at a cheap hotel almost immediately. Upon my arrival to my room at 2:00 am, my room door was wide open, which left me nervous to go in. I called the front desk and told them that my room was open and that I did not want to stay in that room. They instead put my in the room directly next door, which didn't ease my discomfort much. The housecleaning never came during my four day stay and when I requested towels, they told me that I would have to pick them up from the front desk which was in a completely different building. I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family, in fact, I would most likely strongly discourage them from rooming here.”

• Great room!
• Asphalt was being done and we had to park away from elevator.

“The hotel was very nice along with staff. Breakfast could've included some eggs, bacon, or sausages. Parking was a little inconvenient as they were redoing the parking lot, however, I'm sure it's beautiful now. The price was not so bad either!”

• I asked for a non-smoking room and had a smoking room. The stale smoke odor was terrible.

• Having a nice waffle/cont. breakfast available.
• The air conditioner would not turn off and the hair dryer came off the wall.

• I liked the bed and the cable channels (HBO).
• I didnt like that there was really no choice restaurants around.

• The location was only 1 mile to where I was teaching.
• I brought up burned out outlets and bad bed and the staff blew me off (didn't ask room number).

“The location was o.k. And is very close to Downtown. I will be doing a lot of traveling to this area and after the response I received from the front desk staff with concerns I had I do not think I will use them on a weekly basis. Where I was located was actually very quiet which I was grateful for but the sagging bed (and it stated at LaQuinta that all beds were new and pillow top) and the burned out outlets where my laptop was supposed to go really made my staff awful. I will not stay there again especially when I brought this up to the front desk and I was told "all our beds are like that and there is nothing we can do". When I told them about the outlets (2) that did not work they told me they would take care of them but did not and never even bothered to ask me what room I was in. I even had to ask him if he wanted to know where the problems where and he said no that the maids would figure it out. How horribly insulting. Do not stay here.”

• The front desk staff in the morning is much better then the swing shift!
• Did not like the front desk staff on swing, no people skills what so ever!

“Got to hotel to check in and was told I was in a non smoking room which I had asked for. They gave me a room that was already occupied and smoking. Thank god know one was in the room when I opened the door. Walked back to office from the 3rd floor, told the front desk what happened and got no apology or nothing, just got me another key for a different room. Told front desk I would not be needed the room for the last night, to the p.m. shift very rude while they explained to me that they are not going to give me money back. Check about the next morning and went to the front desk and the a.m. The room was okay, nothing special. But maid staff kept it nice and clean while I stayed. Other than the staff at night, my stay was okay.”

• Free shuttle only runs until 10pm not late enough!

“We only stayed one night but when we got to airport on internet, it said free shuttle until 10:30 pm got in at 10:15 called and they said free shuttle stopped at 10:00 pm. My husband and I were stuck at airport for over two hours with small children trying to find a ride to hotel finally at 12:30 rented car at $78.00 for 4 hrs wasn't happy. Children were upset, we didn't get to relax at all. Then we had to leave early so they didn't get to enjoy swimming pool or hot tub or any of the amenities we asked for.”

• I will not use this again. If I ask for a location downtown, I want to be able to walk to downtown attractions.

• They let me change rooms when the first smelled too bad to sleep in.
• Dirty, bad location, noisy, no adjoining rooms, holes in the sheets, bad smells.

“This hotel is within throwing distance of the 5 freeway and very noisy. There are many homeless and others hanging around with no purpose in the area. The first room we were shown which smelled like something dead was in it (rotting smell). We asked to change rooms which they did, but they didn't seem surprised by my request. I would never stay here again and would never recommend this hotel.”

• The fact that it was close to the airport.
• The comforter and blankets were very old and could not be clean.

“I enjoyed the people I visited with and the city of Sacramento. I was unable to have visitors at my hotel. There were cigarette butts 8-10 outside my door that were never cleaned up. The room had a stench that did not dissipate. It has been a very long time since I stayed at a LaQuinta Inn, their level of service has changed not for the better.”

• Close to Downtown, but separated from the city. Also next to the river park.
• Motel style, separate buildings with exposed corridors. Next to freeway.

“Perhaps deserves a 1.5 star rating, but not much better than a motel 6 or other 1 star sort of place. The rooms were clean enough, but the building and site were not ideal. Free parking in a location right next to Downtown makes it worth consideration.”

• Value-oriented motel with convenient location.
• Somewhat tight rooms that are a bit too close to the noisy freeway.

“Two separate visits at this La Quinta confirm that this is a good, no-surprises, no-frills place to stay in Sacramento when on a budget. Don't count on any perks beyond the continental breakfast, but the rooms are clean and well appointed, especially for the money, considering the average price for lodging in Sacto (which tends to be so high).”

“The hotel served our purpose of finding a clean inexpensive place to stay while we spent one night visiting our son. It was nice to have a clean bed and a light breakfast. Rather than having to drive home after our visit we could get good nights sleep and hit the road refreshed.”

• Love the free breakfast in the morning. Really good for the kids. Healthy options to eat.
• The beds are hard as a rock. Fan in the bathroom was really loud.

“I would stay here again. It was good for a quick 1 night stay with the family. I really do like the breakfast in the morning. Lot's of healthy choices like, yogurt, fresh fruit, and oatmeal. The kids loved it. My husband hated this place but I thought it was great for only a 1 night stay with the kids. The only thing that I did not like was the beds are hard as a rock.”

“The hotel is at least a mile from the center of Downtown, and is even separated from downtown by a freeway. Downtown Sacramento is around 16th and J St. The hotel is a good 25 blocks from there. Secondly, it is dirty. The carpets are dirty, the coversheet is dirty. I got these two huge bites from something in the room. the marks are over the size of a quarter each.”

• The rooms were a good size and the staff was great.
• The quality of the hotel seemed very low scale.

“The noise you hear and the quality of the hotel would be greatly enhanced by some good windows and some much needed weather stripping around the doors if we wanted to sleep outside we would of stayed at a camp ground. and they seem to have several long stay guests of very questionable standards.”

• Desk staff was not very friendly in passing. I expect a smile in acknowledgement when I greet the staff.

“Overall, it was clean, efficient, and well situated to downtown. The cleaning staff and those caring for the breakfast area were pleasant in all my interactions. The desk staff, while attentive and helpful at check-in, seemed remote and unfriendly in passing through the lobby. With my job, I am hyper-aware of customer service and they were not particularly concerned with customer service beyond the bare minimum.”

• Not enough parking, there is a car rental company within the property and that takes several parking spaces.

• Good instant type breakfast, 6:00 am, staff friendly, accommodating shuttle service.
• Ok to downtown BUT not if accident on freeway, One exit away but accident day I was there took over an hour for 2 mi. We left early so were ok .

“All ok, and they do try extra hard with shuttle to downtown and airport. Coffee 24 hours in lobby. I would have enjoyed a better mattress as would a few other guests.”

• Very clean, neat with up to date furniture and towels, etc. The food was good as well.
• We had to stay on 3rd floor, some noise from freeway.

“Overall my one night stay was very good. The place was very neat and the room was adequate. The TV was large and the beds were comfortable. The place was not fancy but was very good for the money. The location was a little scary and was close to the freeway, but I slept soundly nonetheless. The breakfast was good and varied. Overall good place for the money.”
