“I live in Medford, Or and the Red Lion here is a top hotel, location and facilities. This one in K. Falls hurts the reputation of the chain, it is really poor.”

• Check in was extremely easy and fast. We had 3 rooms and the clerk had already set it up so we were together.
• The pool didn't open at 10:00. Many guest had to ask multiple times to get the gate unlocked. It was opened at 10:30 a.m.

“All in all it met our expectations for the price. The motel is old, but it had new mattresses, bedding and furnishing, so that helped. The pool was warm and nice for the kids, but it took constant asking from guests to get the staff to open it. The continental breakfast was set up in the former restaurant which provided lots of space. However, because we walked into a restaurant, it kind of increased our expectations.”

• We were treated like honored guests and given a room on the bottom floor.
• There is no family restaurant associated with the hotel and they do not offer a continental breakfast.

“We ride motorcycles and we were giving a ground floor room that was close to the pool and within view of our bikes. The staff was exceptionally nice and the room was clean and well appointed. It looks like our room had been updated within the last few years. Most importantly, the beds very comfortable. The pool and hot tub we very clean and the pool area offered tables and lounges for the guest. There are a few limited hour restaurants within walking distance. However, this hotel does not have a family restaurants associated with it and they do not serve a continental breakfast.”

• The room was clean and nicely furnished, recently remodeled.
• The outside is horrible. Looks like a complete dump.

“The hotel is directly across from the fairgrounds, a few miles from the more appealing historic Downtown area. The exterior of the facility is dreadful - old, dirty, peeling paint, rusty pool lounges; it couldn't be much worse. However, in complete contrast, our room itself was recently remodeled, and was clean and nicely appointed with new furniture.”

• The remodeled rooms are excellent, although the furniture is very large for the room.
• We had no outside lights in our wing. No restaurant.

“This clean and neatly remodeled hotel is directly across from the county fairgrounds. It is set back from the highway, so the road noise is minimal. There is no in-house breakfast available.”

• The room was clean and quiet.
• The restaurant and lounge we expected to be there was shutdown.

“I would not recommend staying here if you can help it. They show that they have a restaurant and lounge on site however it has been closed down and they do not divulge that to their customers prior to booking. Also the grounds are in disrepair.”

• Staff took a personal emergency into consideration and went beyond to accommodate us.
• No breakfast offerings.

“The remodeling is nice, but there are a few items that need to be completed. The comfort of the rooms and the service from the staff far exceeded our expectations. The staff went out of the way to accommodate us as we were in town on a family emergency.”

• Hotel is in a remodel, rooms not fully done! construction workers making noise while we are downstairs.

“An okay Red Lion, older but they are in the middle of a remodel, our first room was nice, the remodel crew was working upstairs and during the day all we heard was there music blaring! Plus the TV didn't work, they sent staff over to fix it as we were out. Got back and the TV still didn't work, had to call the front desk to find out they were moving us to another room. the second room was just as nice but the bathroom wasn't finished, 2 different tiles in the shower, parts of old tile broke away. when showering you could tell that the room was at one time a smoking room. (once the old tile got warm from the steam) overall, it was okay. But as the rooms are now I wouldn't go back if the remodel gets done I might go back.”

“It's not easy finding a nice place to stay in this area, so to be able to get a great hotel with a decent price was probably the best thing that could happen. It was clean, quiet, loved the bathroom soaps, the staff was friendly. All in all a very good stay.”

• Updated with computer desk, bright cheery.
• The remodeling of room still had baseboard missing & carpet not tacked by sink.

“We stayed at the Red Lion after hearing it was remodeled and updated. It did have new furniture and carpeting. They had also updated the showers with a great shower head. However, the mattresses were not that new nor were the pillows. Overall, it was very pleasant, good size and as much and more then I anticipated. Good job.”

• It did not serve even a continental breakfast and dust bunnies under bed. No suitcase stand.

“The hotel was a pleasant place to stay for the price. It was comfortable, easily accessible, and employees were courteous. There was not a breakfast of any kind but there were restaurants close by.”

• Once rooms are remodeled, it will be a very nice motel.
• I should have been told that the hotel was being remodeled. My room was under construction.

“Once this motel is done remodeling, the rooms will be quite nice. Unfortunately, the rooms are now in the state of remodeling with wallpaper half torn off the walls; paint marred, etc. Guests should be told before booking that this is the current condition of the rooms.”

• Spacious rooms, microwave and refrigerator, large bathroom and comfortable beds, plenty of storage space.
• Heaters did not work and had to be repaired.

“Motel rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms were large. The beds were comfortable and plenty of room around them. There was plenty of storage space and drawers. The microwave and refrigerator was very convenient. The hotel service was very helpful. The heaters were not working but were repaired promptly. Overall a very pleasant experience and would stay here again.”

• Nothing. The rooms were decently clean. That is it.
• The hotel looked old and run down. The breakfast was a joke.

“There is nothing that I liked at the red lion inn. The only positive thing about the hotel was that the rooms were decently clean. Otherwise, the facility was really old and run down. The pillows were a ball of shapeless cotton. Very uncomfortable to sleep on. The breakfast served (that was included in the room cost) was a big joke. A few packed bagels, yogurt, and apples kept on a small table. There were no disposable plates to take whatever few things were kept over there. If I were to come to Klamath falls again, I would not stay in this hotel again.”

• It was located close to the family we were visiting.
• Lied about internet connection in room. Was not high speed modem in room, was wireless instead.

“The hotel was undergoing a remodeling effort. When we arrived the water was off to our room, no toilet flush, no sink, no shower. I was told over the phone before checking in that there was a high-speed internet modem connection in the room. This was not the case. There was a slow 11mbps wireless connection that was throttled to the point of virtual un-usability. The air conditioning unit cover was lying on the floor and several knobs were missing. The carpet wasn't completely cleaned and both bed mattresses were fairly worn out (springs uncomfortable and uneven).The continental breakfast was poor and they were out of both cream cheese (for the bagels), plastic knives, and fruit spread (the only other option for the bagels) all by 8:45. No effort was made to restock. The hotel did not live up to expectations even for a 2star.”

“This place must have been pretty nice back in 1982 or so. This was our first stay in Klamath Falls, overall every hotel we saw looked pretty run down (the Best Western looked the best). Check-in was prompt, the staff was friendly. It's a pretty large property, so I drove from the lobby to our room. In the middle of the parking lot was a 25 foot high pile of old furniture and bedding. In the middle of the walkway to our room there was a floor level's worth pile of dirty linens. Ugh. Our door looked like it hadn't been painted in a decade and had adhesive resin and a stain all over it. The room itself was fairly clean. There was a little mold in the shower, but nothing horrible. The air conditioner struggled to make a difference in the 97 degree Klamath Falls heat. They did have really nice bath and body works soap and shampoo. The pool fence was broken in several places, with yellow caution tape strung up to prevent stepping through the gaps. While we were swimming (around 8pm) several teenage boys showed up who were NOT guests at the hotel (I heard them talking to their friend on staff, she told them to "Keep it down, don't be obnoxious"). These boys kept swimming until after 11pm (the pool closes at 10pm). Normally the amount of noise would've kept me up, but thankfully I was able to sleep because I was so exhausted from driving. Our one night stay was ok. There were no bugs. That's about as nice a thing as I can say about the Red Lion. This is definitely not a 2 star hotel.”

• Last room we stayed in was clean, refurbished, smoking & no mildew!
• Night auditor would not accommodate room change.

“Could not book king smoking. In past, front desk has always made our room change for us except this time we were told by night auditor because he could not move us from a dbl queen nonsmoking to a king smoking, we got what we bought and paid for.”

• I liked the sales manager.
• Cleaning staff do a terrible job. Security lacking.

“At check in the receptionist was rude. The bed wasn't made very well. The coffee pot wasn't cleaned. My room door was left ajar by the maid service. I doubt the room was ever vacuumed while I was there. I did take these issues up with management and they did seem concerned. Must give a little credit, they are in the stages of remodeling. That still is no excuse for bad maid service and leaving my room open for anyone to steal anything I might have had in it.”

• Plumbing problems, bedding problems, not enough staff.

“We arrived with no one to greet us. We couldn't find anyone at the front desk! We had plumbing problems in the bathroom, which was old and not maintained in the first place. There was chipped and cracked tile. The bedding wasn't appropriate, as the mattress pad kept coming up. Not a very comfortable stay.”

“The Red Lion was a clean easy to find and conveniently located motel and I was able to get a room on short notice. It was a mid-two star hotel, not the worst - but not the best (older carpet, paint, wallpaper, cracks in ceiling or walls)...while outdated was clean & neat; quiet rooms.”

• It does not have many of the things mentioned in the hotel amenities book in the room, like rooms service.

“Decent, clean hotel. Hotel amenities book in room indicates room service, express check out, automated wake up calls. None of those actually exist and there is no restaurant on the property. There is an OK family dining restaurant next door though. Outdoor pool and hot tub looked nice.”

“We have a business in Klamath Falls and have stayed at this facility off and on for many years. Considering the age of the hotel, it has been maintained very well. For the price it is a great deal and the rooms are clean. We have booked another room for the 22nd.FP.”

• Easy to find off of HWY 97.
• Room not as clean as could be.

“It was very disappointing to get to the hotel very late (3:20am) and have the room available to us be a smoking room. The front desk clerk acted like it was not big surprise as well that we were assigned that room. The room I guess since it was a smoking room was not as clean as I would have liked aside from the smell (which was assaulting). The flooring was marked with cigarette burns and the bedding did not feel as clean as I had hoped. If it had not been so late and we hadn't been driving for 7hrs I would have gone somewhere else. We have stayed in non-smoking rooms in this hotel before and they were very pleasant and clean.”

• When I asked for the 2 bed room they changed it.
• The beds were different sizes and the lower on was not comfortable. The rooms although said non-smoking smelled like smoke I had an asthma attack.

“When you walk in you think it will be nice. The rooms are terrible. The whole place could have used a coat of paint and the stained sink could be fixed.”
