“This hotel was economical. It was close to the freeway and State Marina beach. There is also a Walmart and gas station across the street. Del Monte blvd was just off beach road with many restaurants. It is about a 10-15 drive to Monterey.” Aug 9, 2009 by
Jan from Madison,AL
“For the price, the room was fairly spacious. It was very clean and well maintained. The entrance and public areas were attractive with seating by a fireplace. WiFi was available and free and a computer was available for use free of charge in the public area. Breakfast area was kept clean and well stocked during breakfast hours and even provided warm hardboiled eggs to eat with the waffles, fruit, cereal, toast and pastries. The room also provided a mini refrigerator and microwave.” Jun 5, 2009 by

“The hotel was good for the price I paid. However, I did have one issue. I has indicated that I wanted a non smoking room, but I was assigned to a smoking room.I called the reception desk and told them, but they stated that they were out of non smoking rooms. I had to put up with the smell all night.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Mark from Temecula, CA
“This hotel is great for business travel and families looking for a night or two stay. The hotel was clean and functional, but not what could be described as upscale. The staff was friendly.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Amy from San Mateo, CA
“I was disappointed, I thought the hotel was much closer to the Aquarium and downtown.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Armando from Valencia, CA
“They have done an excellent job at making the facility fresh. The continental breakfast was above and beyond what we have experienced at other hotels. The exterior was well illuminated and we felt safe in an area we had never been to. We look forward to returning.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Gvm from Calgary, AB CA
“Not a bad place to stay if you can get it for cheap. The rooms are older, there was a bit of a musty smell but, the staff was great.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Andrea from Alexandria, VA
“This hotel purported to be conveniently located to Monterey, the aquarium and the water. It was none of the above. It was at the junction of a highway, next to a Wal-Mart. Although the town is Marina, it is not located anywhere near a marina. It was a horrible disappointment.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Miguel from West Hills, CA
“Very nice, clean, but competitors brunch superior.” Jun 8, 2008 by
Mike from Mission Viejo, CA
“This hotel belongs in the 60 - 75 a day range. Nothing special.” May 30, 2008 by
Mike from Elk Grove, CA
“This was a very clean, attractive hotel with a great continental breakfast. Located in Marina, it is a little drive from Monterey and Carmel, but worth it. People in room above us were noisy (we could hear them stomping around), and we could hear a baby crying in the morning. The bed was comfortable and the room overall very comfortable and quiet. We highly recommend!” Apr 26, 2008 by
Ginny from Santa Rosa, CA
“My granddaughter were pleasantly surprised with the clean room, very helpful staff and convenience to Monterey.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Ryan from Camarillo, CA
“The room was furnished with everything. The hotel was also placed close enough to our destination to make commuting easy.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Molly from Red Bluff, CA
“The hotel was fine for what we wanted it for. It was about 20 minutes (with traffic) to the Monterey bay aquarium, and five minutes from the beach. The room was fairly large and met the needs of myself and two small children. The continental breakfast was very family friendly except for the two desk clerks gossiping loudly about their co-workers; the profanity and rude comments were not appreciated while we ate.” Jan 5, 2008 by
Stephen from San Jose, CA
“I checked in late because I was driving all night. The staff was incredible and let us sleeps in a few hours more.” Nov 2, 2007 by
Lauren from Merced, CA
“The hotel was clean and quiet. There was free wireless internet, which was helpful. The location is nice; only a few minutes from Monterey, Carmel, and Salinas. The staff, on the other hand was very inadequate. Right from the start they told us we had a balcony room, which was later proven to be false. We were looking for the elevator and found it, but it was out of order. As we walked past the front desk, the person working there asked us if we were looking for the elevator. We said yes and he pointed us in the direction of the out of order elevator. We then informed him that the elevator had an out of order sign on it. With a confused look on his face he said, "oh yes, that's right". As if he had no idea what was going on in his hotel. The next night was wanted some information on a place to get dessert. He gave us directions to a Marie calendars that ended up not being where he told us it was. We drove for an hour looking for it. Not entirely his fault, of course. After returning to our room and logging on to the internet we realized there was no Marie calendars in the direction he pointed us. We did end up finding one is Salinas, about 30 minute away.” Oct 29, 2007 by
Brandi S. from West Sacramento, CA
“My husband and I were more than happy with our very clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast was wonderful! Great location as it is easy to find and we spent a lot time at the near by beach that was beautiful. The only thing that could have been better were the curtains had moth/ age holes and the water drained slowly from the bathtub.” Oct 17, 2007 by
Jen from Fresno, CA
“Good location for our needs, close to university, golf course, and downtown Monterey. Friendly staff and good accommodations. Bed was a little hard but still had a good stay. Great customer service will stay there again.” Sep 19, 2007 by
David from Modesto, CA
“Great location, friendly staff and very large rooms.” Jul 28, 2007 by
Amanda from Yuba City, CA
“I like this hotel; it was nice with was about 2 minutes ago from a beach; the room we got was big so it was nice for our one year old to run around in, the only thing was it melt like cig smoke even though we got a non smoking room and the heater stunk really bad like nasty old feet; everything was great but that, nice and clean stuff was really nice, great location if u don't mind driving 5 minutes to here you want to go( we didn't mind) it was a little bit out of the way so it was nice clam place to stay.” Jul 27, 2007 by
Jon from Hillsboro, OR
“A decent mid-priced hotel. There was plenty of room in the rooms, however. And, the refrigerator and microwave were very welcome additions. High-speed internet was not true 'high-speed', but it was better than most hotels at this level. If you need an inexpensive place to stay very near Monterey, I would suggest this hotel as it is close to the highway and to most local attractions.” Jun 23, 2007 by
Nho from Sacramento, CA
“Met our expectation for an overnight stay in Monterey.” Dec 30, 2006 by
Bonnie from Citrus Heights, CA
“Accommodations were very nice. Beds were a little hard, pillows were a little flat. The evening staff when we checked in was very friendly and accommodated us well. The on-line reservations we printed out said "check out" time was 12:00 noon. Their sign said check out time was 11:00. They said that was no problem to check out at noon. We got up a little late and had breakfast there at their free breakfast nook. We got ready and at 10:45 called to the front desk and told them what the evening shift had said and the morning shift people were very rude to us and said to us twice "check out time is 11:00". They finally agreed to noon and hung up on my husband. We left at 11:25.” Nov 17, 2006 by
Heather from Sacramento, CA
“Good location for visiting Monterey area and close to a state beach access. Short walk if you don't have a car. Fast food and a Wal-Mart very close if you forgot something the hotel cannot provide. Very friendly staff.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 1, 2006 by

“For the price and short time we were in Monterey not a bad place to sleep & eat. We will probably go again. Staff was very nice.” Aug 24, 2006 by
Pam from Visalia, CA
“There wasn't a doorknob on the outside bathroom door and the carpets were very dirty.” Aug 19, 2006 by
Al from Discovery Bay, CA
“Over priced. I've stayed in better Motel 6's.” Aug 9, 2006 by
Robert from Hayward, CA
“Hotel appeared to be new or newly remodeled. The room furnishings were in good condition, but the mattresses were very low quality, pillows were very small, and flat. Room hvac unit was very loud, and not very efficient, and tough to set the temperature on, the thermostat was not in degrees. The elevator was far from front door/parking, and hotel staff was rude, and I witnessed them being very rude to another guest.” Aug 9, 2006 by
Joyce from Madera, CA
“This was a last minute mini vacation. We settled for the Comfort Inn because it was the cheapest price, $99 per night for Tues & Wed, $139 for Thursday, average of $113. It was clean, close to the beach, had a courteous staff, and had a simple continental breakfast, but was very over-priced for the amenities that were offered.” Jun 2, 2006 by
Robert from Glendale, CA
“Staff members spent more time talking and fooling around than working. Very unprofessional. The room was quite satisfactory.” May 3, 2006 by
Lee from Bakersfield, CA
“Much less expensive that staying in Monterrey. Not to many facilities at the Hotel though. The free Continental Breakfast was nice.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.
