• The location was very convenient. It was easy to find and to get to. There are places nearby that are convenient like places to eat, or the pharmacy.
• It was really noisy, which made it hard to sleep. It smelled heavily of incense in the breakfast area.

“This hotel was alright. It served its purpose for what we needed. The continental breakfast was reasonable. The location was easy to find and conveniently near places like the pharmacy and restaurants. The fridge and microwave are convenient as well. However, the room must not have been very well insulated from outside noise because the garbage man and other traffic woke us up. The bed was uncomfortable for my husband - he ended up grabbing a blanket and sleeping on the floor because it made his back hurt. The plumbing is also really loud - when anyone nearby uses water it sounds like an aircraft is taking o”

• It was OK overall. Was nice to have TV and a warm shower.
• It was cold and the heater was broken and made the fire alarm go off, which also made a smell in the room.

“The location of the hotel was probably the best this about it - just for convenience. Other than that it was the standard motel, absolutely nothing special. One unfortunate thing was that it was too cold and the heater made the room smell and got the fire alarm going. It was too late to wake anybody.”

“When we got there the manager wasn't dealing very well with an angry client... the place was run down and a little dirty. The tv didn't work. The check out time was a bit early.... but the location was ok I guess.”

• I was charged 10 extra dollars to get two beds in my room.

“Liked the continental breakfast for sure! That was our favorite part. The room was comfortable and clean, but we had to pay 10 dollars extra upon arrival to get two beds in our room - not happy about that.”

• HBO, nice kitchen/dining area attendant.
• Reminded me of a college apartment that was a few years unmaintained.

“Street noise surprising not an issue with rooms near the driveway. The loud sprinklers behind the building are an issue at night if bathroom windows left open. Got what I was expecting, cheap place to sleep for one night. No frills.”

• The staff was very helpful with restaurant ideas and directions.
• It was very small and basic, nothing special at all.

“The staff was great. The bed was small, not a queen, even if alleged to be. Everything worked adequately, but the faucets were somewhat old, not very much space in the room.”

• The hotel location was good, in between downtown Monterey and Carmel and just a short drive to both locations.
• The rooms could use some updating and the carpet was a little dirty. The gentleman at the front desk was not too friendly.

“The hotel did meet our expectations. The location was convenient, the room was acceptable and the continental breakfast was more than we expected.”

• The man at the front desk was very rude and not helpful.

“Overall, not a bad hotel. The rooms and the breakfast were very good. The customer service was poor and it was far from local attractions. I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind driving a little to get in to town.”

• Rude staff at desk, ashes found in sink, broken mini-fridge, tiny room.

“Although the hotel is in a decent location, we had several strange experiences that made it not worth the stars. For instance, we found ashes in the bathroom sink after leaving the hotel for a few hours, meaning that someone must have entered the room while we were gone. The front desk staff was unhelpful at best, rude at worst and the amenities were either non-existent or broken (e.g. the mini-fridge was only slightly cooler than the room).”

• The receptionist/manager is very arrogant, unfriendly and he does not belong to the hospitality industry.
• The size of the breakfast room is not adequate for the size of the hotel.

“This hotel and it's manager (Indian guy) is disgrace to the hospitality industry. He takes the impression of the credit card, but refuse to provide any short of confirmation of payments.”

• Too close to airport, dated bathrooms, & cramped breakfast space.

“Clean rooms and good location for Monterey activities. however airport is just around the corner and planes fly overhead often from 6:30 AM - 11:30 PM each day. Breakfast is relatively good - but breakfast space is way too small for size of hotel. often busy and cramped - hard to get through line and juggle food while getting around tables and people in line. Breakfast staff - a small Hispanic woman on our trip - was very busy, VERY focused on her work and a little pushy at times to get done what she wanted to when she wanted to do it (in already cramped quarters for a breakfast line).”

• The employees were nice.
• The room was extremely small and dirty, the pool was dirty and the rooms were out of date and had too large of furniture.

“I would not stay at the hotel again. It was very small and out of date, the pool was dirty as well as the room. The carpets either were recently cleaned or were damp and smelled like mildew. In the bathroom. It was not a family friendly hotel at all.”

• The staffs are very touchy and rude to customers.

“The service of the hotel is the worst that I have experienced. The facility of this hotel also couldn't meet the 2-star rating. The room with only 1 bed has a very small restroom. It's best just be labeled as economy or motel. The staff was rude to customers. I definitely would not recommend this hotel to any other. Stay out if you can.”

• Convenient to activities on the Monterey Peninsula.
• Did not live up to the Ramada name. I expected better.

“Nothing distinguished this hotel as a Ramada. It seemed like a mom-and-pop operation. The room was not dirty, but not especially clean either. Fixtures were old and some were damaged. The hotel did offer a standard bed, TV, convenient location, and nice continental breakfast. Very basic accommodations.”

• There was loud drilling of cement going on right outside out door.

“The room was very nice & the shower head with massage was extra nice, however, the continental breakfast room was so crowded we could not get in. The difficult entrance to hotel from street & the construction directly in front of our room were not pleasant.”

• Parking was $53.00 per day. No other public parking facility available. Should be included in price. Doubled the price I thought I would pay.

• We enjoyed our quiet comfortable room and the kids had a great time splashing in the pool. The waffles for breakfast were a big hit!
• Our room was very small though it was neat, clean, and inviting.

“This hotel is an older hotel that has been nicely updated to meet the expectations of the name Ramada. Our room was small but neat, clean and inviting and met our needs well. The kids really enjoyed the pool and hot tub which were nicely heated (big bonus). The breakfast was quite good, but make sure you get there early because the breakfast area is small and the crowd can get large. We enjoyed a quiet night of sleep with no noise from neighbors whatsoever. Overall it was a very pleasant place to stay.”
