• Convenient to activities on the Monterey Peninsula.
• Did not live up to the Ramada name. I expected better.

“Nothing distinguished this hotel as a Ramada. It seemed like a mom-and-pop operation. The room was not dirty, but not especially clean either. Fixtures were old and some were damaged. The hotel did offer a standard bed, TV, convenient location, and nice continental breakfast. Very basic accommodations.”

• The shower head with massage & the decor.
• There was loud drilling of cement going on right outside out door.

“The room was very nice & the shower head with massage was extra nice, however, the continental breakfast room was so crowded we could not get in. The difficult entrance to hotel from street & the construction directly in front of our room were not pleasant.”

• Pretty Atrium.
• Parking was $53.00 per day. No other public parking facility available. Should be included in price. Doubled the price I thought I would pay.

“No parking available without paying a whopping $53.00+ tip per night. Business center was overcharged. Unreasonable.”

• Room had king bed, refrigerator, microwave, and was fairly good size.
• A little noisy. Would have preferred being Downtown. Near airport so heard planes.

“This was a 2-star motel. Room ok but a bit on the noisy side. It was functional. Like that it had free parking and free internet. And that it had a refrigerator and microwave. Room quite spacious. Served us fine.”

• Easy parking, decent breakfast.
• The room smelled.

“Most times I feel like I get more than I expected. In this case, I felt like I got less than I wanted. This really was a motel with a bad smell, not a nice hotel. It was clean and the workers were very pleasant, but I wouldn't go back.”

• Accommodations were awesome, a short walk to breathtaking views.
• Grout in the tile in the bathroom needed some attention.

“This hotel was wonderful; the staff was helpful and efficient. The valued ceilings and cabin feel made you feel like you were on a real get away. Would definitely stay here again.”

• I liked having a refrigerator and microwave in the room.
• The shower is very small.

“This was a nice quiet hotel. Our room had a microwave and small refrigerator in it which were very handy. They offered a continental breakfast of waffles, cereal, bagels and muffins. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.”

• We enjoyed our quiet comfortable room and the kids had a great time splashing in the pool. The waffles for breakfast were a big hit!
• Our room was very small though it was neat, clean, and inviting.

“This hotel is an older hotel that has been nicely updated to meet the expectations of the name Ramada. Our room was small but neat, clean and inviting and met our needs well. The kids really enjoyed the pool and hot tub which were nicely heated (big bonus). The breakfast was quite good, but make sure you get there early because the breakfast area is small and the crowd can get large. We enjoyed a quiet night of sleep with no noise from neighbors whatsoever. Overall it was a very pleasant place to stay.”

• Very small fridge, only small microwave, no dishes.

“We would have enjoyed the ability to have plates/bowls/silverware available, and maybe at least a stovetop. One bed would have sufficed. The beds were very comfortable, however, as well as the pillows.”

• The room was quite large and very clean. Nice large restroom. Microwave in room.
• The staff upon checking in. Staff was not only not helpful, he was rude. Too bad, the rest of the staff was quite pleasant.

“Rooms are large and spacious. Very well kept. The mattress was wonderful! Location isn't in the newer part of Monterey, it is a little on the outskirts. However, there are good family restaurants within walking distance and it is a very short drive to the more 'touristy' part of Monterey. Good choice for family travel or business travel.”

• The shower needs to be updated. The bed (a queen) was very small.

• Big room, large "mini" fridge, full microwave, comfortable room big.
• The parking lot was a little weird, tight spots & landscaping made it hard to manipulate the lot.

“The rooms are very large and comfortable; the "kitchenette" area is more than expected for the type of hotel, nice quality furnishings, and staff very responsive. Close to the airport, so there was extra noise from jets flying directly over the hotel. The parking lot has a big brick planter type thing that hinders half of the driveway and makes it a little hard to back in and out of the tight spots. Over all, we were very satisfied with our stay. The cleaning staff did not knock on the door at the crack of dawn like some other places to see if you are/have checked out.”

“Is it right I had to pay $12 extra for a room with a bath? The room did not have a bath and is definitely not 2 star material. The room I paid $12 extra for was a nice two star.”

• Rooms are dark and feel moist and humid.

“Free breakfast, good quality breakfast, free wireless internet (No wired connection), friendly people, close to downtown Monterey (bus service to downtown in 5 minutes), and couple of restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are small and not very fresh, carpet feels old and humid.”

• Hard bed, flat pillows and no tub in the bathroom.

“It was what I expected of a two star hotel so I was not disappointed. I was pleased to have the free breakfast (with waffles!) and a hot tub to relax in at night. The bed was pretty hard and uncomfortable and I was disappointed that the bathroom had a shower and not a tub. Overall I was satisfied with this hotel.”

• Location was convenient and it was easy to drive into Monterey.
• Room was a little damp in chilly weather.

“This is an older motel with somewhat dated facilities. It was however, a good value and is centrally located along a main strip with other motels nearby. It is a short drive to Fisherman's Wharf and Old Town Monterey. The staff was attentive and seemed to take great pride in the property which was planted with lovely flowering shrubs. A good basic self serve breakfast was included in the rate and available in the office area.”

• I did not like anything about this hotel.
• Pictures do not match current hotel condition.

“We ultimately did not stay at this hotel and paid out of pocket for another hotel for the same night. The area of this hotel was not nice and the hotel was out of date and the current stance of this hotel did not match the pictures. Would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a "nice" hotel. It was however easy to get to for those needing easy access in/out of the hotel.”

• Nice large room w/ small kitchen area and computer area, reasonably close to shopping/restaurants.
• Not terrifically soundproof breakfast area far too small and very congested, staff hard to understand.

“I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel based upon the price and star rating. The room was nice and large and reasonably kept despite its age. It's a small property so somewhat difficult to park/maneuver a large pickup. Both mornings there was tremendous congestion in the breakfast area. Not super close to the attractions, but I would definitely stay again and/or recommend to others.”

“Hotel was clean, but it just was not a 2 star. For a one night stay it was okay. Stayed on 2nd floor, no noise from other units. The area seems safe and there are some restaurants around as well for a quick bite. Close to fisherman's Warf.”

“The hotel was great for a short stay in the Monterey area. It is close to Downtown although al little more out of the way than some of the others likes it. The bed was comfortable and there are bougainvillea flowers right outside the door.”

• The room is dirt, & noisy and the bed is so uncomfortable.

“Disappointed experience with this hotel. We were glad to stay there just for one night. The room was relatively small and dirty. In addition the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom was also without any comfort. Furthermore, it was very hard to sleep due to a very poor sound isolation; it was so bad that we were even able to hear our neighbors snoring.”

• Pool was not open and breakfast was a nightmare.

“The rooms are average economy rooms with free, if slow, internet access. The pool is tiny outside, unheated and closed. There is no whirlpool. Breakfast is a nightmare with only 6 or so small tables for the entire hotel. There is only one toaster as well and not much to pick from. No eggs, meat, milk etc. The staffs that we saw were nice but we didn't see many workers when we needed help with anything. This is an economy hotel not a two star hotel.”

“For the price the hotel was perfect. The bed was firm, just the way I like it and it was close to the conference I attended. I also liked having a coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator in the room. It's too bad that breakfast started too late.”
