• It was very nice and close to the attractions we were there to see. The staff was very nice also.
• I liked everything about the hotel.

• Room with 2 beds was very spacious, kids loved the pool.
• Breakfast was not that great.

“Location was good and easy to find. Too far to walk to downtown but easy to drive. Room and beds comfortable. Pool was nice as it was warm and spa was very warm with great jets.”

• The location, the size of the room, the fire place it was a great room for the money.

• The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good, spa and pool were nice and price was very economical.
• The bathroom door was very difficult to close.

“My friend and I enjoyed our stay very much. We enjoyed the continental breakfast in the morning (bagels, muffins, toast, cereals, waffles, fruit, and juice, milk, and coffee) and the spa and pool in the evening. The room was clean and comfortable (the bed was very comfortable) and the staff was very nice and helpful.”

• Overpriced Motel.
• Overpriced.

“"Trying" would be the best description of this hotel. The breakfast was tacky with no coffee cups in sight, cold breakfast, and seating that could only accommodate a third of the people wanting to eat. The room was out of a nightmare. The carpet seemed dirty and the bathroom was as small as the closet. Even if the room was clean it certainly didn't feel like it. I do not recommend staying here.”

• Good location within 4 miles of tourist attractions, food and supplies.
• The room was not worth the price.

“Located in a good location to tourist attractions. Room was small and average, and in my opinion it was not worth the price. Staff was friendly, however, if you are considering the free breakfast, don't bother. Skip the stale cereal and muffins and have a real breakfast a mile down the road.”

• The staff went out of their way to accommodate us.
• One girl working in the office was incompetent.

“One girl working in the office was incompetent. She couldn't give us directions to the hotel, promised us a crib, then didn't deliver. Not only didn't deliver, but just left us hanging and went home. We called the front desk at 11 pm to inquire about the crib and the manager answered. He apologized for what had happened, and arranged to move us to a suite to compensate us for the missing crib. This exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone because of that.”

• It was clean and the beds were very good. I have a bad back and the bed really matters.
• Pool had too many chemicals and burned our skin a bit and smelled. Also the pool and the pool area could really use a good cleaning.

• Everything was awful.
• Help gave us attitude. Lamp by bed was broken. TV & stand were right in front of fireplace.

“The room we were given had no hot tub. They gave us an upgraded room with a kitchen. Like I am going to ask my wife to cook on our anniversary. The girl at the desk acted like she could care less.”

• The room was very spacious.
• The breakfast room was cramped and the pool too salty.

“This hotel was a surprisingly nice stay. I was not expecting too much given the rating, but was pleasantly surprised by the nicely sized room. The complimentary breakfast was somewhat disappointing, as the selection was small and the room cramped. My kids loved the pool, but discovered it was too salty and had problems with their eyes hurting and weepy for hours after they got out. Knowing that, I'd bring goggles and limit their pool time. I would definitely stay here again.”

• Clean and well appointed & updated for the price.
• No wifi.

“This property is located along with a stretch of hotels lining don Dahvee Park right across the street. It's one of the closest to the Downtown area, convenient to the Warf and Alvarado St. (old town). It appears to be a 60s era hotel built in a semi horseshoe shape surrounding its own parking lot. Obviously maintained very well with a lot of time devoted to maintaining a variety of flower boxes & gardens that line the walkways and steps. The heated pool and Jacuzzi area is cleaned and maintained even in December. While on vacation we don't get up very early and never saw the breakfast area open, so really can't comment there. Our room was small (which is what I paid for) but very nicely updated with cultured marble and new fixtures, wallpaper, carpet, bed and come to think of it. About everything includes the fridge, nuke and coffee maker. They're in the process of renovating rooms; one or two rooms at a time, so ensure you get an upgraded room not too close to one they're working on now. Eventually of course this won't be an issue.”

• We like to have a fan for "white noise" while we sleep. The unit didn't allow that.

• Staff was polite.
• Loud neighbors, poor Wi-Fi/cable connections, broken equipment, recycled amenities, poor value for the price.

“This was such a disappointment; I've stayed in nicer places before. The neighbors were loud. The keys did not work. They recycled products previously used (i.e. pad of paper had water marks on it, etc). The rooms are tiny; parking is tight. Ice machine was broken. Cable quality was poor (think of white snow with static). Wi-fi signal was weak and our computers repeatedly disconnected. Staff was pleasant. Note: If you want to purchase bay aquarium tickets you have to go to the motel next store and pay in cash. Way too much money for the price. I would not stay here again.”

“Convenient location and nice room with king bed and hot tub. Good value for the price. Only downside was noise insulation not so good so we were woken by neighbor's doors slamming several times at 7 am.”

• There was an extra twin bed in the room that was not requested. It was clean. Quiet.
• I could not get the jets to work in the spa tub.

• Hot tub and pool! Location! Great room with patio.

“I loved staying here and seeing that little patio outside my bedroom door! I'll bring a romantic partner the next time. And the continental breakfast was a full of breakfast. Then the swim and hot tub! Really nice in a great location.”

• Desk clerk, room appointments, clean bathroom, good towels/products, ironing board/iron, covered parking.
• Smokers congregated at foot of stairs, put cigarettes out on walkway. Pilot light in fireplace on 24/7.

“Our overall experience was very positive. Courteous front desk. Very clean, nicely landscaped, covered parking available. Bathroom clean, airy and nicely stocked. Within walking distance of downtown shops, restaurants and shopping center. Short distance from Monterey Aquarium, Fisherman's Wharf, etc.”

• Well, we got an executive suite. It was incredibly clean and spacious. The sauna was neat.
• Too many kids in the pool :(.

“We ended up in an executive suite it was really nice! It was huge! And had a little kitchenette and a fireplace. The bathroom was incredibly clean and the shower had really good water pressure. The pool area was really nice and indoor. But there were a ton of kids in there, cool I guess if you have children. It was really close to the aquarium and other areas of Monterey. The fireplace set a nice little romantic feel, had a little trouble with the wifi, had to call the front desk a few times to get it reset, but they were very helpful and readily gave us extra towels. Oh and the free breakfast was legit.”

• We enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and the convince of have a continental breakfast on site.
• The queen size bed is a California queen it appears smaller than a regular queen size bed.

• The hotel had a quaint setting.
• Thin walls, could hear people upstairs.

“We were given a handicapped room which was okay with us. Bathroom looked newly renovated, but had pipes coming out the walls. We didn't have a window, but did have a patio. The blinds of the window did not pull back so the room was dark. The king size bed was nice, sheets were clean. Carpet could probably use a little cleaning.”

• Quite noisy, old construction off building transmitted much too much noise of people coming and going, could hear every door opening and close.

• The room was clean. Hotel was very kid friendly. I did not know about the indoor swimming pool or else I would have gone prepared. Great breakfast.
• The wireless internet did not work. It had a data port though, but since I didn¿t have a cable could check if that worked.

“The room was clean beyond expectations. The staffs were friendly. Since I was staying just a night it did not really matter. The breakfast next day was excellent. The hotel has a small indoor pool which kids will enjoy. Very kid friendly. Nice location. I would recommend it to others.”

• For the price, it was better than it had to be. Lovely garden areas. Free room upgrade was appreciated!
• Nothing specific. Rooms were tidy, but a little worn. Still, a good value for the area, clean and safe.

“A smaller, moderately-priced hotel located in an overpriced town. Management was very nice, quite accommodating. Rooms were clean, had a gas fireplace, apparent recent updates inside. Free continental breakfast helped us get on the way fast. We could see the ocean outside our bathroom window. The word "luxurious" does not apply, but the set-up was very cozy and comfortable. (No highway noise, convenient to downtown Monterey attractions, etc). Overall, a good value for the money.”

• The room we had has two rooms, it is suitable for couples with kids.
• Too far away from the aquarium, driving would be required, or taking the trolley would be a good option.

• The inside of the hotel was much cleaner than our family thought. From the outside it was a bit old looking.
• The beds were too hard.
