• The set up of the room.

• Too small.

• Nothing.
• Very old hotel. Rooms smelled of mold.

“This hotel is definitely not a 3 star hotel. Because of the age and quality of the rooms I would rate it a 1 star hotel. The rooms and hallways smelled like mold has be growing for years. The staff was excellent and accommodating in changing our room twice because of the smell.”

“This was incredible! I usually stay at a Motel 6 because I can't afford much, but for the same price I was able to stay at a fancy hotel. I kept expecting someone to knock on the door and tell me there was a mistake in the price. Incredible!”

“Was in a good place for shopping. But motel is very old. Does not have up stairs so it is very spread out and hard to get to room. Parking lot like freeway with roads going all direction.”

• Nice resort-like grounds, for 4 of the 8 buildings.
• Understaffed, not very reachable for advertised amenities.

“The Holiday Inn is very close to the airport and centrally located to light rail and highways. The lobby is clean and well cared for. However, the renovated rooms which have a too large for room king size bed also have tiny bathrooms and minuscule coffee makers. The balconies on this room open up to a pleasant courtyard and view of the pool and jacuzzi. We changed rooms because there was not enough room for my child's roll away bed (which was necessary because they did not have a room with two beds at the time of check-in.) We moved to a different building, in the back of the property which did not have views of the courtyard or pool. The building air always struggled and near the elevator it was sweltering. Our room's air condition went out and it took almost 12 hours for the hotel to fix it and cool down the room (hallway was hot too). We asked the front desk for a complimentary razor (which they advertise in the bathroom) and was told it would be right up. On a separate occasion we asked for one of the custom pillows they advertise near the bed. No one ever came either time, and we were forced to go ask at the front desk. The pool area was large and fenced in. However the rack for towels was infrequently stocked and there were not enough whenever we went or requested them. (We were told that they were in the dryer). The maid service must also be understaffed, our room was never cleaned until 4 pm daily. In general, this is a good location hotel which is understaffed or worse - non-attentive staff.”

• We enjoyed the quiet rooms, and all of the help with things to do while there.
• We would have liked the pool open earlier.

“For us it was great, as our granddaughter only lived 10 minutes away so our large family were close to be found, and the stores were all close by. We enjoyed our stay there Thanks you.”

“We were overall happy with our stay. The gym was a little disappointing. Not what it looked like on line. The staff was friendly & accommodating. The pool was fabulous for myself & the kids while my husband was at work.”

• At the restaurant the fish dinner I order was very salty.

• Gardens. Really beautiful. Well cared for.
• Fixtures in my room were chintzy, 4th class.

“The Holiday Inn San Jose appears to have fallen on hard times. The hangers in my closet were cheap, 2 fell apart while hanging up shirts. The bathroom toiletries (soap, shampoo) had not been refreshed (the shampoo had been 2/3 used, there was no soap). The closet door appeared to be a $10 dollar mirror glued to a cheap shower door, hung on cheap hinges, with a magnet latch that did not latch. I loved the gardens. Wireless internet worked. I liked the sturdy desk in my room.”

• I liked when my time came to leave this hotel.
• No fridge or no microwave in rooms, not even a public one. Loud maids too.

“The maids stand outside and talk loudly. If you need to sleep past about 8AM you will be woken up by these rude maids. Also, without a fridge and microwave this hotel was useless to me. I hated my stay and I am now hesitant to use Priceline. This hotel is an older holiday Inn so they probably have to rely on unsuspecting people to fill their rooms.”

• The room was so clean and comfortable.
• The lounge was noisy and the hamburger was too expensive.

“The Holiday Inn San Jose was exceptionally clean and the room was very comfortable. There was no elevator to help me get my bag up to my second floor room so it was a little inconvenient. The lounge has a concrete ceiling, which makes it unbelievably noisy and the food ridiculously expensive for the value.”

• This hotel was built in the late 50's and although there has been remodeling, it is still an old structure. Not very charming.
• The size of the room and use of space for closet/bathroom area.

“If you are just staying a night or two, and looking for clean and close to the airport and freeway, then this is the place. Only minutes away from downtown but not close enough to the airport to hear the air traffic.”

• The restaurant was too expensive.

• It was less than 10 minutes to SJC airport.
• No elevator and no one carries luggage upstairs for you. God forbid if you cannot carry your luggage up the stairs yourself!

“This hotel is not a 3 star hotel. I have no clue what kind of products were being used to clean the rooms but it smelled terrible. Needs to add a feature that will help handicapped people choose a hotel that offers handicapped accommodations. Travelers expect to find elevators in their hotels in order to carry their luggage up and down.”

“The motel-style rooms at this Holiday Inn seem to be positioned far enough back from the freeway and N 1st St so that street noise was not a problem. Traveling to the SJ convention center was pretty easy with the Light Rail nearby.”

• Dirty and loud, no accessible power outlets near the beds.

“The room and halls were filthy/sticky. I have no idea what the convention areas or restaurants are like. The walls were thin, and made the room noisy; we could hear everyone around us plus everyone in the hall and outside the building. Climate control in the room barely worked. Front desk service was slow/ poor/incompetent. The location is inconvenient and the parking/layout of the sprawling hotel is horrible.”

“Great location, nice setting, but rooms are old school small and noisy, especially if you are downstairs (all buildings are 2 floors). All rooms on ground floor have outside access, which may be nice for weekenders, but for females traveling alone, this is a no-no. The furnishings were very nice and the staff very kind and prompt.”
