• Close to Great America. Clean and well stocked with everything.

“It was great for our family mini vacation. It had an iron, blow-dryer, lots of towels, lots of pillows (fluffy that didn't smash once you put your head on them), and large HD TV!! It was wonderful we couldn't ask for anything else. And it was in walking distance of Great America.”

• Contemporary clean quiet beautiful linens and art everything A+.
• One tiny thing - toilet paper holder put in odd location.

“After staying at another hotel in the same area for two nights with a horrible experience, the Marriott in Santa Clara was heaven. Beautiful, contemporary rooms with large TV and granite throughout, just lovely and a good end to our mini vacation.”

• Great staff, great location, great amenities.
• My only ding is that the bathroom was small; smaller than most other Marriott's.

“I really enjoyed this hotel and all the services and amenities. The location was great, too, and close to several other options for food. The staff was excellent. We were put in a court yard room, which may have explained why the bathroom was so small compared to other Marriott's where we have stayed in the past.”

• The Hotel has been recently remodeled. The decor, comfort and staff were up to my expectations. We are planning our next stay there.
• The food was a bit pricey and the menu not really kid friendly. Then again the Hotel is geared toward the adult population, or the business traveler.

“We came in on a Friday morning and enjoyed the amusement park across the street, later that night one of the managers gave us excellent ideas (and clear directions) on dining in San Francisco. The Service within the Hotel was excellent and the overall appeal of the structure was superb. The restaurant itself offers gourmet food, not really suited for picky eaters, and there weren't too many other options of dining within the area.”

• Ice machine was broke on my floor, also had to pay $18.00 for parking.

• The exterior and interior of this hotel was excellent. The rooms were sophisticated with nice flat screen TV and temperature control.
• Parking is an additional $9.00 per day and internet use is $5 for 20 minutes on their terminals. Not too business friendly.

“The location was good since you can see the Marriott off of the freeway by great America. It definitely is a 3 star hotel but I think parking and internet wi fi should be included in the price (free). The front desk isn't too friendly, but they will accommodate whatever you need. Their on site restaurant, parcel 140, is very good but expect to pay a lot of $$$$.”

“There is no reason anyone who is not staying/visiting the hotel would ever use the hotel's vast parking lots, so there is little justification to charge for parking except to screw their customers for another $9 a day. If they were downtown, I could understand it, but given their location, it's absurd.”

• Hotel provided computer and printer to print out boarding passes.
• $9/day for self-parking.

“The hotel is still under renovation but we were given a room on the top floor (concierge level). The room had already been renovated and everything was new. The LCD was nice and big. The decor in the room was contemporary. The air conditioning was functioning properly. Overall, this is a great place to stay because it's a reasonable driving distance to San Francisco and really close to the San Jose airport. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.”

“Oh my goodness, the beds were from heaven! I look for really two things in a hotel, quietness and comfortable beds. This hotel had both. I was extremely pleased. It is not a hotel that is right off the freeway and I had a nice view of Great America. The beds were the best part of the hotel. They were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, not to mention the blankets were like clouds! So great. The down side of the hotel is parking was nine for self and there was only one restaurant and it did not serve breakfast. However, we ate dinner there and it was good, slow service, but it was late. We also saw Vernon Davis of the 49ers dining as well. Overall, the hotel is great. The pool is nice and large; the hotel staff was extremely helpful, with directions to Monster Park for the game, Santa Clara Valley Hospital, and even switching rooms! I think this deserves to be a four star, but I don't know how they rate stars, I am just rating it on the things I mentioned above. Another thing is it is close to a lot of freeways, but not really any restaurants. We tried to go to IHOP, which was really the only breakfast place around and just about everyone else thought to do the same thing.”

• Great pool/spa and refrigerators in every room. It was also nice to have laundry facilities.
• There was a fire evacuation at 10:30pm one night and the management did not address the inconvenience at all.

“This hotel was wonderful and accommodating. It is within walking distance of great America theme park and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel is kid friendly, but set up for the business traveler as well. I would definitely stay there again.”

“As true with all the Marriotts I have stayed at, the room was very nicely appointed with luxurious linens, lots of pillows, nice bathroom. The grounds were very nicely landscaped. Although they charged for parking (which surprised me), it was only $9 a day.”

• The bed was very comfortable. Lots of pillows!
• Parking fee. Ice maker was broken on our floor even after calling front desk, no obvious attempt to fix.

“We were very comfortable and slept rally well in this hotel. For the price we paid it was an incredible deal. I have never stayed in a Marriott in the past, but really enjoyed it!”

• The beds were of an upgraded variety and very comfortable.
• This was during the heat wave, and our air conditioner went out in the middle of the night.

“Clean and modern with a hint of a Spanish theme. The pool was large to accommodate all the families during the heat wave. The health club was nicely furnished.”

• I was confirmed for a King bed and got a double.

“Very nice hotel but I felt I was put into a lower level of the hotel with inferior beds. I called and requested a King bed because I am 6'4" and my wife was also with traveling with me. We were put into a room with 2 double beds that needed to be replaced. I did not enjoy my stay.”

• Layout around the pool was nice.
• Noise from the pool. No room service - probably because I stayed two nights. Would have appreciated fresh towels soap. bed made without asking.

“They were incredibly busy with come large conference guests and think that they also tended to rooms for new guests before getting to those staying a second night. Maintenance was VERY friendly, helpful and will when asked for any service. It was a great stay.”

• We heard the people in the next room talking and showering. They got up at 5am.

“The hotel was very clean and the staff is very friendly. Both restaurants were very nice and reasonably priced for the area. We had a room with a connecting door and I feel this lead to noise problems (we heard people talking and water running).”

“Lovely and inviting lobby. Very quick and easy check-in (and check out). Room was clean and comfortable with enough room to move around. Bed and bedding was SUPERB, slept like a baby! The hotel offers a quality, top-notch yet expensive restaurant ($50+ per person) AND a noisy sports bar w/ appetizers and sandwiches. Would have liked a mid-price range quality restaurant on-site.”

“Was a very clean, service-oriented hotel. Grabbed a late night bite in the bar. Food pretty tasty for pub fare, but service could have been a tad better, and food a tad hotter (we ordered soup and had to send back to heat up). Room very clean, and quiet as requested, even though hotel caters to families going to Great America across the street. Requested fridge for our room and was provided at no extra charge. Used lobby computer (limit 15 minutes) to get some directions from Map quest Much appreciated. Most of all, no hidden, bogus "resort charges," or other price gouging of that ilk.”

“At it's prime, the Marriot was a beautiful hotel. It still is, but there were fixtures which were missing or broken (the mirror, toilet did not flush right away etc.) great pool and exercise room. the service was excellent and people were very helpful.”

• This hotel had the friendliest staff I've ever encountered..
• The restaurant was excessively expensive. One breakfast cost me almost $20.
