• Location was convenient to the downtown area.
• Leaking roof from upstairs bathroom.

“It was not a bad place, other than the leak from the upstairs bathroom. The bed was nice and comfy, the pillows were flat, the desk and internet were quick and painless, and the only bad thing was the smell of the room.”

• Perfect location and a nice park around the corner.
• Smokers right outside our open window.

“Loved the ice machine, put your card in and out came ice. Nice refreshing pool and friendly managers.”

• Close to beach, right off of highway 17 and highway 1.
• Bathroom was outdated, tub small, toilet three inches from wall. no vanity.

“Close to boardwalk and a few restaurants. Lots of traffic but it is on the main street, If I stayed here again I would get a top floor because they have a balcony.”

• The price was affordable.
• It only came with a queen bed and to upgrade cost too much money.

• Close to the beach.
• Gross.

“While close to the beach, this hotel needs major basic improvements---water damage on walls, massive cracks and peeling in the wallpaper. The bed was gross. I do not have high expectations when staying in an economy hotel.”

• It had a bed.
• They will relentlessly ring your phone and pound your door down at 8 am.

“This was the worst motel I have ever stayed at. It is very dirty, the staff is very rude, the location is not that great. From 8 am until I checked out at 11am, they were ringing my phone and beating down my door every 20 minutes even though check out was not until 11. There were roaches, the sheets were stained and the room smelled very bad. It was basically everything you would imagine and worse in a run-down motel/shanty.”

• Checking in/out was easy, took less than a minute. Met our needs for the evening needed.
• Pool was closed for season, even though it was supposedly heated.

“Met our needs for the evening. Bed and cable TV. I would have liked a bigger bed; full size just isnt big enough for two adults. I brought a childs tent for my son, and he was happy. Overall experience was good, would probably come back if we go to Santa Cruz again.”

• I had to leave before the sun came up.
• Smelled like a sewer.

“If you are real tired it is a roof over your head. If you have lost the sense of smell you will like this hotel. If you like sleeping in your clothes on top of the bedding this is the place for you.”

• Clean, helpful staff, everything worked.
• This is not a luxury hotel but a good product for the price.

“If you need a clean hotel room with all the basics in good working order while staying in Santa Cruz and you are on a budget, this is a very good choice.”

• Friendly managers, clean rooms.
• A little far from beach to walk, over 1.2 miles.

“Good clean rooms, rooms are showing their age, little things like peeling wallpaper in bathroom, peeling paint but rooms are clean, staff and couple as managers is excellent, they helped a lot.”

• Staff was very nice and helpful, clean rooms.
• A little far from the beach to walk had to take the bus #19 and #69 for some trips.

“Clean rooms, helpful staff, rooms are showing their wear and tear but functional. Adding a roll away bed is expensive $10 per night and upgrading to two double beds is also very expensive $15 per night.”

• Everything but service.
• The so called manager was very rude.

“Facilities where ok. But service from manager was very rude since we check in until check out. He was rude as he could be, even in the room it's a sign that reads we provide clean towels every day on the next morning of checking in we ask for towels to the manager and he said that he got that many rooms and he didn't have towels for us, after that another guest went to ask for towels and came out of the front desk with towels on his hand. When I check out I went to drop the key and the same manager was there, as soon I walk into the reception he ask me for the key and told me you can leave now and that was the end of my stay at that hotel.”
